How can I get more people to watch MLP?

I’m trying to get more of my friends to join the herd… but they absolutely refuse to watch the show, except for two and one of them has already watched it and hates it sleep.png the other said he’ll watch it but I haven’t been able to let him borrow my first season yet sleep.png.  But everyone else refuse to watch it because they say it’s “creepy” for a teenage guy to watch a little girls show.  So can somepony try and help me to convince them to watch it without practically forcing them to.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

You shouldn't pressure people into watching MLP. This is what builds up one of the brony stereotypes, which claims that all bronies force people to watch the show. Constantly telling them to watch MLP, when they don't want to, will only annoy them more. If they did watched it and still don't like the show, well at least they gave it a chance. Accept the fact that the show doesn't appeal to everyone.

I had the same problem so what I did was I waited until my friend needed something from me and then I didn't give it to him until he watched the first season... He did and ended up hating it but still, just wait until you have leverage. If you want a nicer approach just keep asking I guess, eventually they will give in.

Don't force them to watch it, or try to make them join the herd, just let it progress naturally. I would suggest showing them some "best of Pinkie Pie" or "Best of Discord", both of which are funny, or play fan-made music some of which is truly impressive. Heck, if they really don't like it, show them anything by MisterDavie (cupcakes is best, the song is awesome). Plant the seeds of pony in their minds and just leave it. it may only take days, it may take months, just let them find ponies for themselves.

Send an anonymous letter to them telling them they won a prize. The letter directs them to an abandoned warehouse. When they go inside, drop a net on them. Then tie them to a chair in a dark room. Turn on bright lights and shine them in their face. Walk around the room, just out of view, and say in a German accent, "you vill now watch the little ponies, yah? Unt you vill like zem." Then turn on the TV and make them watch.

Well, it depends on how you ask them. If you are respectable when asking them to just try one episode they are more likely to give it a chance. So far I have managed to get all my friends to watch atleast one episode, sometimes you just need to encourage them to give it a chance and that takes time.. Now if you are demanding them to give it a chance than they will not want to because they will feel that you are trying to force it upon them.

Being too pushy or forceful is a bad idea because that could cause a backlash, but asking nicely by maybe starting with "hey there is this show I have been watching that you might like" while it is no guarantee they will watch is far more likely to succeed. What got me to watch the show was curiosity, curiosity over why so many teenagers and adults liked the show and if Discord is really as awesome as the friend who got me into ponies said he was. It did take a few months for it to sink in, but it eventually happened.

i wouldn't FORCE someone to watch it, just let them decide if they want to watch it or not, you can't force someone to watch/do something they don't want to watch.

I was the only Brony at my school until one of my school friends saw my Profile picture on Skype. He asked where and what that is from (It was a picture of pinkie pie by the way) i told him about the show and it's following, giving him a few links to the first episodes in the process. He watched it, and liked it. A couple of months later (About three months ago) he told another one of my friends about MLP and he watched it too and liked it also.
