What's the WORST Christmas gift you ever got?

Hi Hi Puffy YumiMiko

Ack...  So true.  Or sometimes people will complain about not getting everything they wanted and they got $700 worth of presents. ._.

Oh, like Dudley in the first Harry Potter movie? Lol

I honestly can't think of a worst gift, because I was more focused on spending time with my family :P

I haven't really received many gifts in my life... so I've been happy almost with all of them.  Although I may not have liked them, I always appreciated it.

However, one does come to mind.

My mother got my brothers and me a stereo that could play CD's.  (They were still pretty new) So she got each of us a CD... I had tapes for Bob Marley, Megadeth, ACDC, and the like...

She got me a Britney Spears CD... I'm sure she just didn't know... or thought it was funny... but at that time I wasn't amused.  I guess we can laugh together now that I'm a brony... but at the time I had to really struggle to appreciate that one.

The other CD's she chose to buy... The Backstreet Boys and Lou Bega...

Oh well.

I got socks one year...

Seriously, why would anyone buy me socks for Christmas?

I got socks for Christmas while living in Norway as well, a really weird present but , hey, they are always useful.

Probably the time where I bought a game for myself in August (I think) and then my parents confiscated it and gave it to me as a Christmas present like it was their idea.

Like, seriously, what the fuck.

I remember I said that I couldn't say a gift is a bad gift... until I saw this post, right here, folks!

I got the exact same book from 2 different relatives. And I already had it at home. But it was also a REALLY easy read. (As in, I read the book in the car on a trip that took a half hour-45 minutes) But at least I returned it so I could get a book that actually might have challenged me.

I tend avoid these questions now since I've come to realize the best gift for Christmas is actually, nothing, because what counts is that everyone is here together on that special day, warm and safe with food in our bellies.

That said... I think the worst gift I ever recieved...was the Christmas my elder sister didn't spend time with us... Our father had died that year, and she spent her holiday keeping some of our siblings away from our mom and taking a trip to Hawaii instead of spending time with a mourning family. The after that it repeated, she didn't send a letter, or anything to any of us first family... and it has been that way since... well 3yrs now counting...  It's still the worst gift to me...that my entire family isn't here together.

I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^

A really bad fever and lots of regret ( ಠ◡ಠ )

No literally it was awhile ago but I had to wait until 2days after to open gifts because I was throwing up a lot.

You are right, the best Christmases I remember where the ones I spent with the whole family from my father's side. We would spend the whole day together, my grandmother made delicious south Italian food and there would be no presents at all. The funny thing is that when you are having such good time with your family you couldn't care less for material things.

For all it counts I hope you will be able to have a Christmas with your family in the future.

My parents wrapped a huge lawn mower box with gift wrap and stuck it under the tree. I was so excited to open it but when I did, it was a tiny piece of cardboard. I actually cried. But it was a clue that lead to a bike so I guess it was okay (I was only eight at the time)

I can't think of anything I've ever rejected or thought of as bad.. Even when it came to socks/shirts i'd never wear their aren't any particulars I found that horrible...

Though my uncle once played a trick on my Brother and cousin and gave them some barbie dolls!

The looks on their faces! it was hilarious!

He had some real gifts for them, and gave the dolls to the only female kid of the family later of course :P
