Could Shining Armor And Vinyl Scratch Be Twins?

Could it be possible that Shining Armor and Vinyl Scratch are actually brother & sister? They have the same coat color, the same mane colors, they are both unicorns, the only things that doesn't match are their eyes, so maybe they could be fraternal twins (or one of them is wearing contacts).

 

As ridiculous as the claim might be, remember that Twilight didn't say a thing about having a brother until 51 episodes in, so her casually forgetting to mention Vinyl as her sister isn't too far fetched.

My position on these kinds of things is always that superficial resemblance between ponies is really really unlikely to be anything more than that. Even ponies who ARE related very often look entirely different, with different mane styles, and colours. Add to that the observation that with so many ponies running around there, there are bound to ponies who look kind of alike. 

 

So in conclusion, very very probably not, but possible. Kind of like finding $50 in the street. It might happen, but it's not very likely.

No way. It's Twilight and Shining Armor. Those are the only two. If there even was another pony, Twilight would have mentioned it when they talked about shining armor

Twilight and Shining Armor, they have different colours, so does their parents, And because who character are the same colour scheme it does not mean they're possible brother and sister. I once saw a thread "Are Photofinish and Hoity Vinyl's parents? Because they all wear glasses" 
It is not possible for Vinyl and Shining Armor to be brother and sister. From you saying that we didn't have Shining Armor till episode 51 makes me give you more information. Vinyl is in the show from like...I dunno first 10 episodes from 1st season and Shining Armor wasn't there until episode 51. So it's not possible in any ways. Might aswell say okay X and Y are brothers because they have the same coat colour. It just doesn't go like that. Take a look at AJ and Big Mac, different colours. The closest that could be to your statment is Flitter and Cloud Chaser.

I second on Solar Fox; considering there are so many ponies (I mean, have you seen the long list of ponies/unicorns/pegasi in the mlp wikia that have names?!) yet only so many color schemes and mane style, you're eventually going to see two nearly-identical ponies in the show, such as Vinyl and Shining Armor. So no, I don't believe they are in any way related.

I personally would find it more interesting if *brace yourself* Twilight and Trixie were sisters. They have the same eye color, Trixie shares the same coat color with Twilight's father and the cutie marks of Trixie and Twilight's dad are so similar. This was a random idea that I thought of about a year ago.

 

For Vinyl and Shining Armor to work, they would first have to give Vinyl a little more purpose I would think.

Shining Armor was enough of a stretch. Having Twilight go "Oh btw guys I have another sibling I totally didn't tell you about" would feel random and unnecessary to me. If they want to give Vinyl a greater role in an episode, there are plenty of better ways to do it without making her a relative of a main character out of nowhere. Though she was actually at the wedding, I don't believe she was present at Twilight's coronation where it went out of its way to point out her family and friends' reactions. I doubt it, and I'd prefer for it not to happen.

I think its probably coicidental. I just don't think they suit as twins. If Vinyl is Shining Armor's sister than Vinyl will be a sister to Twilight and than it'll go onto the fact that it doesn't even make any sense. Good theory though.
