This seems to be made a bigger deal than needed, everyone plays video games, each gender, guys seem to be so surprised when they see a girl that plays a game, it's really not necessary.

 

Why should gender effect how we perceive gamers.  Just play and enjoy the game.

I like it when girls play games, but I hate it when some do it for attention or just do it because the guys are doing it. A good example would be girls who play COD. They are just doing it because it is mainstream and everyone else is playing it.

That depends on what you mean by "Girl Gamers"

 

I respect females that love gaming... if they play stuff outside of the latest CoD or 2K. I have nothing, NOTHING against girls that like to play video games. A lot of the girls I know IRL play video games like Zelda, Mario, Rayman, Sonic, other things outside of what's mainstream nowadays. I respect those girls, and they are what I like to call true girl gamers.

I don't like the whole vibe of "girl gamers", you never hear about "guy gamers" these days, do you?

 

I'm fine with genuine female gamers; gaming certainly isn't just a guy thing, it's something that can be enjoyed by anyone. Heck, it's kind of nice listening to a softer voice providing commentary for a video game sometimes. What I don't like are the vapid attention-seeking stereotypes, the ones that objectify themselves and care more about their viewer count than anything else.

It's nice when girl is a gamer because it's yet another thing to talk about :3 But it is definitely not necesarry. But what I dislike are girls who pretend to be so hardcore gamers only because they think every guy in their area will fall in love with them  So annoying attitude.

Back when I used to play a ton of video games, I knew only a few women who played video games.  This was around 2006, so YouTube wasn't crazy popular and I rarely came across them so I thought mostly men played them.  I don't keep up as much as I used to, but just looking at the content on YouTube, it's pretty obvious that girls do play a lot of video games, and I say cool man, more power to you!

Yeah, I have to agree with everyone who says it's no big deal if a girl likes to play video games. I'm a girl myself, and while I don't consider myself a "gamer", I do like to play video games from time to time. I don't think girls playing video games should be treated as a surprise, honestly.

I love and respect real girl gamers, who are basically girls who play games, and have fun doing it.

I have to say I have no problem of a Girl playing a game. When I stated to fine some people to play game with I fine out half of my friend were Girls. I think some of them are a little beater gamers them some guys. Half time I look for my friend are girl to play and we have lots of fun.
