My favorite is either Sonic Heroes, or Shadow the Hedgehog.

 

If I had to pick only one, I'd say it'd have to be Sonic Heroes. I played that game all that time when I was younger. It was my first Sonic Game, and it got me into the series. 

 

Man, that Sonic Heroes theme song is so nostalgic for me.

Same here. I never actually beat the game. I played it an awful lot though.

 

Shadow the hedgehog, on the other hand I beat a ton of times. I tried to beat all the various good/evil endings, and such.

 

Speaking of Sonic the Hedgehog, it seems to still be a fairly popular franchise. Are the still making new games for it?

My favourite is the original Sonic the Hedgehog (on the Sega Mega Drive).

 

My second favourite is Sonic Colours (Wii).

 

The sonic games I absolute hate: Sonic R and '06.

I never beat Shadow the hedgehog because i would just play multiplayer with my friend all the time and i don't know if they are still making sonic games :/

I'd normally say Sonic the Hedgehog 2 because Tails. But I've recently played Sonic & Knuckles and it certainly tops that in many respects.

It usually changes every time I play one. Whatever game I'm playing is my favorite at the time usually.

 

I'm a huge Sonic fanboy. Love the games, the cartoons, the comics..everything. Someone bought me a Knuckles Plushie a little while ago and I hang it right next to where I use the computer. </off-topic>

 

Also, being the type of gamer that I am, I can't bring myself to hate a game just because it wasn't programmed correctly so I can't rightly hate Sonic 06 for playing like a beta. I actually thoroughly enjoyed Sonic 06 and everything it had to offer but I can't bring myself to play it again because of the unfinishedednessnessness. I fully and 100% believe Sonic 06 would be the greatest Sonic game of all time if it had actually been finished.

Wow...this is a tough one. Hmm, I think I'd have to go with Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I know it's technically two games, but it was originally supposed to be a single game. Sonic 3 & Knuckles has some of my absolute favorite zones and zone themes, most notably Lava Reef Zone. That being said, I have to give an honorable mention to Sonic Generations for being the first modern Sonic the Hedgehog game to really perfect the high speed controls, and was just great fun all around.

My favorite Sonic game is Shadow the Hedgehog, it is a game that I wish it had a lot more potential to it because it doesn't have to focus on just Sonic in most of the games.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle - none even come close in my eyes. Amazing levels, all were fun, PERFECT soundtrack (especially Rouge's levels) and the Chao Garden was the most fun in that one.

 

Also liked Heroes, and DX.

Heck, sonic 06 was awful but it still had a few good parts to it.

 

I only like the original sonic riders. Gravity is WAY too hard for me, and free riders was ridiculous.

My favorite is probably Sonic Generations. I especially like it a lot more now since I found a mod that lets me play as Shadow instead of Sonic.

 

I also liked Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and so on. 

 

 

I liked pretty much all of the Sonic games, faults and all. They're just a lot of fun to play.

Sonic CD! I love the time travel aspect of the game and how the game shows you the consequences of just blowing thru it.

Next favorite would be Sonic 2
