Stupid things you believed when you were younger

I believed that a girl would get pregnant if she hugged a guy, I believed that if you swallowed a watermelon seed a watermelon would grow in your stomach, and for some reason I thought that the world back then was actually in black and white. :ButtercupLaugh: In my defense, I was very young when I thought these things were true. :P

Website: *says something that has no virus and is a free download*

Me: :ticking:

*10 seconds later*

Me: "Hey why is everything running slower and what are all these pop-ups? "

That whole charade but on repeat.

And I also thought that "King" and "Queen" were unisex titles meant for anyone. Gender didn't exist to me at all.

I can't think of anything else that is a bit more unorthodox.

That raptors like hawks and eagles couldn't take off from the ground.

No idea where my brother got that from lol. He denies he ever told me that but he did, I remember distinctly. Granted, we were like 4 and 6 at the time soooo....

I was told that if you thought about another fruit while eating a kiwi that it'd taste like whatever fruit you were thinking of. Up until a couple years ago I thought this was some common thing that everyone was told at some point but NOBODY I tell has ever heard of it?? I have no idea where it came from

DNA was a somewhat big organ inside your chest, and your soul was this yellow glowing orb inside of you... also in your chest.

Don't ask where I thought the heart fit into this model, I clearly had not thought any of it through :derpy-yes:

I also believed you LITERALLY had to marry, AGAIN, if you wanted another child after the first. I distinctively remember asking my mum this when she asked if I wanted a sibling, "but wouldn't you have to remarry dad for that? :o" fbskfnsjfj

EDIT: You know what I am editing to provide even more clarity on that last point. My parents were not divorced. To me, that didn't matter. They would HAVE to remarry even if THEY WERE ALREADY MARRIED. Welcome to my twisted fucking mind kind of shit.

Before I learned about anatomy, I used to think we were hollow on the inside.

I mean I’m hollow on the inside. No organs or anything

I used to think that almost all lethal diseases were airborne and more contagious than many of them are. This particular anxiety got especially out of hand before I was set straight on it.

I used to give people way more credit than I do now, but I also was a considerably more paranoid.

I used to be more of a romantic, focused on feelings almost entirely. People have set me straight on that one, and then some.

Oddly, I had hit upon a curious belief that there was something lurking up in Greenland. Then I found and played a computer game which told a story that might as well have been based on what I believed.

That was really scary at first, but as I played the game, quite automatically, I became incapable of taking my ideas about it seriously anymore. It was kind of an anxiety reducing catharsis, even though the game itself is very spooky.
