Ever been to Bronycon alone?

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has ever been to any pony convention alone. I'm planning to go next year because I will be able to drive by myself. My friend and I talked about going together, but he said he is getting a job soon so that will effect him going. I am kind of nervous about going alone, but it would be kind of fun to go alone. My question is, have any of you guys been to BronyCon alone. Also have you meet any new friends while you were there?

Thanks,

Grayson

Hi Grayson - it looks like you misread BronyCAN as BronyCon, so I've moved your thread over to Sugarcube Corner. Just so you know :)

I personally haven't been to a convention alone, but let me just say that once you're there, it won't matter in the slightest if you're alone. Bronies as a community and conglomeration are the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Once you're in thick with the environment, it becomes extremely easy to socialise with anyone around you. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who went to a Brony convention without making any friends

Haha, ok. I was just worried that if I went by myself then I would feel weird because I would have know one to talk to  :D

I've never been to a brony convention alone, but I am going to one in June this year and I think I'll be going alone.

It won't be so bad though. Bronies are very nice people from what I've seen of them in real life. I'm sure both you and I will make friends at our conventions. :)

Yeah, I'm going to the actual BronyCon itself. Which pony event are you going to?

As a regular con goer since I was... 13? I've gone to my fair share by myself. Easy enough to find someone to talk to! I struggle with social anxiety and even I can usually find people to talk to.

Yeah same here bro! I'm 15 almost 16 and haven't yet been to a con, but I am planning on going next year.

Although I've never been to a brony convention before, I have been to a convention alone, and it was a great experience. Since you'll have things in common with everyone else there, it won't take long before you're chatting with other people and making "Con" friends.

Yep, have fun! First one is always almost overwhelming, I swear... Make sure you stay hygienic and bring your own food! Important con rules.

Also bring more then $20 ROFL! :D

Just out of curiosity, would anyone like to meet up at Bronycon next year 2015?

Haven't gone to one but when I do it will probably be alone. I don't see that as a bad thing though! It's actually more fun because you can spend your time doing what you want to do. You could talk and get to know more people and just have fun for as long as you want! Unless your friend plans on doing the same they'd otherwise want to stick to a schedule probably. I'm not much of a schedule person. I'd just do what I want. ^_^

Not yet. Parents drove last year since they didn't trust us driving 15 hours straight. This year I flew with my bro, which took all of about 3 hours not counting time between flights and shuttle travel. Next year I'll probably be going alone since he'll be joining the military.

I went alone to Brony CAN two of the three days. My friend had to work on the 23rd and 24th of August, even though I told him to book those days off.:( It was ok though. I still went and had a great time. I hung out with Cork Top some of the time, and I still got to see a lot of panels and purchase a bunch of stuff I didn't need. I would highly recommend bringing at least $50 in spending money, though that is an optimistic figure. I spent more than that and get the sense that plenty of people spent way more than I did.

so basically it cost  $70 just for the con pass then people would buy stuff another $100

i wonder how much someone pays if they flew and stayed at a hotel

must be really pricy

since i live in D.C  ill drive there but still just imagine  how much people are spending just for attending  this con

is it really worth it

well i'm about to find out when i go next year

I went alone to the last BronyCon and I had the time of my life! I met some really nice people there. It was kinda awkward for the first few hours until I got the nerve up to talk to some other bronies.
