Hey, everypony. ^^

 

I hope I'm not the only one here who's heard of ScrewAttack.com's infamous series:

 

 

For those who know what I'm talking about, sweet! ^^

 

For those who may not, allow me to explain. ^^

 

Death Battle is a series where 2 characters from (usually) video games, have their "skills, weapons, and armor" completely analyzed by 2 awesome bros known as Wizard and Boomstick, to see who would win a fight.

 

It's actually a really awesome series, I would highly recommend it to those who haven't watched it. ^^

 

Death Battle has answered some of the most common asked questions to "who would win a fight between x and x?"

 

Some of their most infamous battles have been:

 

Goku VS Superman

 

Mario VS Sonic

 

Spider-Man VS Batman

 

and just for us Bronies

 

Starscream VS Rainbow Dash

 

This series is really cool, and I think there's some serious discussion behind all this. ^^

 

Today, they have just released their newest Death Battle:

 

Luigi VS Tails

 

Now, take these with a grain of salt, because there's a lot more battles then these I've just named. ^^

 

For those who have already seen the videos and wish to discuss, I ask that you keep spoiling parts under spoiler tags.

 

Oh, and did I mention that they animate a fight at the end of the videos? Very cool! ^^

 

So, that's about it. ^^"

 

 

I'm not entirely sure where to start discussion besides saying that today's Luigi VS Tails battle was amazing! ^^

The first time I had ever heard of the MLP reboot and the brony fandom was when I originally saw the RD vs. Starscream episode back in the summer of 2012. If it weren't for that video, I'd likely never have become a fan.

 

As for some of the other battles, I thought the Shao Kahn vs. M. Bison  and He-Man vs. Lion-O fights were really entertaining. The Blanka vs. Pikachu one was pretty funny.

As big of a Sonic fan as I am, I still know Sayains could wipe the floor with Sonic characters any day.

Ahhhhh.... Death Battle. The Starscream vs RD video was 1 of the first mlp related videos that I ever watched, and really helped me decide to watch the show. Who would have known that a pony of all things could keep up with a giant transforming mecha robot?

 

I've enjoyed all of their videos so far. My favorite battle to date is probably Goku vs Superman since so much effort was put into that battle. Even though I don't agree with the outcome of that battle, I appreciate all of the hard work that went into that video.

 

In terms of the Lugi vs Tails battle, I liked it. The folks behind death battle really try hard to make it fair on both sides. I found the outcome to be fair and plausible.

I remember Rainbow Dash winning and Transformers fans getting butthurt in the comments that a Transformer got beaten by a pony.

I've actually watched all of the Death Battles that they have done.  The Pikachu one made me sad as a Pikachu fan considering that there was no reason to pit him against Blanka of all things.  I was happy to see Link win against Cloud Strife.  I really thought Link was gonna be slaughtered due to how OP Cloud is.

 

The next one though got me so hyped.  A 3 way Battle Royale between Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard...

 

I would love to talk about this one with somebody.   I think this one will come down to between Charizard and Venusaur.

It really is a good show.  I just hope that for the next Death Battle, Charizard wins the match even though I said that it would either come down to either him or Venusaur.  He's been my champion during the Fire Red Nuzlocke Challenge I did.

The most biased Death Battle? xD  Here we go with the Sonic fanboyism.  I don't find anything about that one to be wrong honestly.  Maybe the Goku vs Superman one since they really shafted Goku by using Saiyan Saga as a base even though it might not make a difference if they based him off GT.  It was simple.  Tails was faster, more intelligent, and stronger than Luigi.  Not even combat experience would help him against an opponent that has that in spades.  There wasn't much hope for Luigi to begin with.

 

 

 

EDIT: Actually, almost forgot.  Pikachu had no business going up against Blanka of all things.  Whoever suggested it needs to not suggest a Death Battle again after what happened to my friend.

Actually, Charizard doesn't seem that obvious since a lot of people on Youtube and Screwattack say that Blastoise would win because he has the best defense typing between the three.  If they're gonna be going by anything, then they are going by lore and Pokedex entries.  I'd be surprised if Blastoise wins considering that both Charizard and Venusaur would be gunning for it.  And by surprise, I mean the rage of a thousand suns and sadness that I will never hear the end of water type fans saying that Blastoise is the best.

I don't care what he is, they brought up more flaws then that, and only used that one. All of Luigi's flaws were played out, they literally handed that one to Tails on a platter. Tails handed Luigi with way too much skill and ability, then even Sonic handled Mario. They botched it up, plain and simple, the fight would've been alot more fair and reasonable then what they did. I mean, come one...if Tails fought like that, even Mecha Sonic and Robotnik would get served. Sonic vs Mario was at least ten times more reasonable and fair then this crapfest.

 

 

Yeah, I agree with Blanka vs Pikachu...that wasn't even close to fair. I thought it was more of a joke, but if it was done serious...then that's just screwed up. Might as well have Magikarp go against Unicron.

 

And they didn't really shaft Goku, mostly because there's only one reasonable version of Goku, and Superman has like 20...including one where he's pretty much god...It was probably just a fight to rustle some jimmies.

If they're doing the Kanto starters, then as much as I wish Venusaur would win, Blastoise can win easy. He can learn both weaknesses for both Charizard and Venusaur. They really should pick like Johoto or Hoenn starters for something more fair.
