No, I can honestly say that I haven't been discriminated against because of my body weight, I weigh 230 pounds and look like I weigh about 180 just because of the fact that I work out a lot, I also think I intimidate people as well, so people tend to leave me alone. ^_^

I was, and am, discriminated on for being thin. People assume that because i am thin, i must be stuck up, and judge others, or i starve myself. But its not true. I eat healthy, and excersize, yes, but i was just born this way. And i never judge others at all.

Well, I have. But on the other end. I'm extremely lightweight, people act like I don't eat anything at home. I say that I eat a lot. I do.*

Though the people that don't bully me usually say I'm one of the smartest, nicest, and least obnoxious people they know. So I don't know why I'm bullied for that, my lack of a religious affiliation, my sexuality... If I seem to be that great of a person.

I won't harass someone because they are fat. I see no point as it is their life not mine. If I did push at getting weight lost it would pressure that indivual to eventually do something silly because of me. I believe if someone is willing to put in the effort to be nice and easy to get along with they are all "super mans" in my eyes.

Most of my best friends were over-weight and they turned out to be some of the strongest, smartest and caring people I've ever met! I'd never look at someone badly because of their weight but maybe suggest kindly but I'd never push anyone into something they aren't comfortable or have a harder time than others doing.

I suffer from what I believe might be a combination of lipodystrophy and low blood pressure. The latter should be obvious, but for those who don't know lipodystrophy is a condition basically opposite to diabeetus, where your body produces many times more insulin than it should. The advantage to this is that I can eat as much as I damn well please and still be on the brink of starving. The disadvantage is that no clothes in stores ever fit me.

I weigh roughly 120 pounds, and its obvious where my ribcage ends because my ribcage is my entire source of width in my upper torso. My abdomen is concave, regardless of the fact that I eat between two and four pieces of pizza for lunch daily plus a big dinner. While I haven't actually been bullied directly for my weight, I'm a bit pissed at clothing companies for assuming everyone is super fat. Actually, I blame America for administering Alaska, which isn't fat like America. My pants are the main problem. My waist is 28 inches; my legs are 32 inches. The smallest waist I can find is 29, and the ones with those only have legs of 30. I believe I own one pair of pants now that has legs that long, with a 30-inch waist. So basically, my ideal pants size is something that doesn't exist because naw way, no one's that thin, not in any American dependency!

I don't think I've ever really been discriminated against. Before I lost weight my step mom would occasionally make comments about how if I just lost a little weight I would fit into clothes better.

Now the only comments I get are about how little or muscular I am, which isn't really a bad thing. :P

Discriminated against? Not that I'm aware of, but I do get some hate tossed my way now and then.  I'm skinny, and if I'm seen eating a lot (I looove chocolate) I'll get "you can just eat anything and not gain an ounce" jealously, or if I'm eating healthily I'll get "Is that all you're eating?"

According to the poll, only one person has discriminated against others because of their weight. It was me, and here's why:

I don't find obese girls to be physically attractive. I don't find them repulsive or anything; they're just not my type. When searching for a potential romantic interest, I have (on many occasions) automatically dismissed girls because of their weight. Did I go out of my way to insult or disrespect them? Of course not. I simply did not express any interest in a romantic/physical way.

I'd say a large majority of the population discriminates (via actions or inactions, rather than words) based on another person's weight. It happens all the time, everywhere. Does it make me a bad or mean person? No. It simply means that I like what I like, and I feel no obligation to feign otherwise for the sake of somebody else's ego.

  • 1 year later...

I have been discriminated multiple times before. My mom's side of the family is very skinny and so am I. Not only that, I'm very tall in height (5'8 feet). People have called me anorexic (I'm certainly not!), skeleton, ugly etc. Some people just don't understand that some are born with skinny and tall genetics. It makes me angry when people are this ignorant.

When I was a kid, I was a bit on the chubby side, but kids knew not to bother me about it because I was taller than most of 'em, and the ones who were my height weren't into hurting peoples' feelings. That doesn't mean other kids, who were much larger than I, were spared. Those poor kids. I kinda distanced myself from them because I thought that if I helped them people would start name calling me too. I was already in a rut for not speaking English correctly and not wearing American clothes-- I didn't want to dig my grave further.

I only wish I could apologize to those poor kids now...

Not discriminated but I've been told that I'm very skinny that I should eat more.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

My sister sometimes jokes that I'm too skinny, but I think I'm actually about average. I don't stand out very much, but even when people do acknowledge my existence I don't think they discriminate against me based on weight.

Nah, I'm rather slim. Almost too slim, but not quite.

It's so weird. I eat a lot, but I never seem to gain weight. I don't even exercise often. I really wonder, where do all those calories go?

Well you are gifted with a High Metabolism. Due to that you can eat anything without getting fat. Don't worry though, once you hit mid-adulthood, that all will bite you in the butt. The reason is that your body's ability to metabolize food will start slow down once you hit adulthood. So enjoy it while you still have it.

As for me personally. I've gotten more comments about how I am so skinny even though I eat a lot. I just say, "Eh, it's because I have a high metabolism". I've never seen anyone insult my weight. I've seen others get insulted for their weight though.

Well it slows down bit by bit. As I said, it'll not be too slow till your middle age adult years. It'll only start slowing down once you hit the stage of young adult. But if you do at least keep your health up and balance out what you eat, you can keep that High Metabolism to a point until your late adult hood.

Okay, I don't even eat that much anyway. But when I do, I can eat a *ton* and not gain a pound.
