I'm sorry but I don't get this Nintendo love. Apart from the Gameboy, which is excellent, I just find their

PS2 had a 13 year old life span. And the occasional kids game will still make it on the thing.

 

But the victor is very much the NES. It brought the home console market (and the video game market in whole) back from the ashes after the cockadookie that is ET 2600. RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!

Of course, the Virtual Boy is an exception, but then again i have never experienced the Virtual Boy. Lucky me i guess.

It is merely a matter of opinion. I've never even tried GoldenEye 007 or Perfect Dark. I still loved the N64.

I can think of three.

 

GameCube- this was my first console(I have a NES and SNES but those technically belong to my dad) and I know that most people won't agree with me but the GameCube was and still is better than the wii and the wiiU (motion controls are the worst thing ever to happen to the gaming industry).

 

PS2- this was my favorite console until I got an Xbox 360 and it had star wars battlefront 2 which is one of my favorite games. Most of its games had good graphics for their time even though now days they kinda suck compared to modern graphics and it was overall a good console.

 

Xbox 360- this is by far the best console of all time it has great games such as halo (but not halo4 it sucked), skyrim, fallout new Vegas and many more. The motion control is optional (THANK GOD!!!). And the online multiplayer is good as long as you don't get stuck with people who play the same game every second of the day.

What about super mario 64 that pretty much set the first standard for how 3d gaming would be on consoles and being among the first successful transfers from 2d to 3d, or the two legend of zelda games, especially Ocarina? Edited April 5, 2014 by Nuke87654

The atari 5200 for the consoles and the atari lynx for the handheld.  The 5200 had the 2600 games with decent graphics.  The Lynx was truly special -- it was a gameboy competitor but color, flippable for lefties and righties to use, comfortable, and...

To me: the best one is PS2. I still own it as well as PS1 and PS2 games.

I loved the Nintendo 64, PS2, and Xbox, but to be completely honest I've had the most fun and have had the most memories on PS3 & Xbox 360. So much fun. Eventually I'll move onto the Xbox One or PS4 but for now I still enjoy my PS3.

None of those were truly great, in my opinion. Mario Kart 64 is considerably overrated, Perfect Dark was okay, and Goldeneye never even close to competed with Doom or Unreal Tournament (UT sucks, by the way.) It's Banjo-Kazooie, Gex, and Super Mario 64 (DS REMAKE IS BETTER!!!) that were truly amazing. Plus, an additional small cast of the library.

I won't try to claim superiority in any way, but I love my PC, and I even have a weaker one hooked up to my TV with a wireless controller.

 

It's really about the games though; I would enjoy playing Ace Attorney on an iPhone as well as a DS.

Not to mention Disney's Tarzan, the Legend of Zelda games, Mischief Makers, Bomberman 64, Bomberman Hero (I've also heard great things about The Second Attack), Snowboard Kids 1 and 2, Tetrisphere...

 

I would also say Milo's Astro Lanes but most probably wouldn't consider that a GREAT game, I just had a lot of fun with it.

I would have to say either Nintendo 64, Playstation, and/or Gamecube.

 

Reasons being, is because I feel like those systems had the most funnest games ever. Those 3 really made my childhood. Don't get me wrong, but I sure do loved the NES and SNES as well. The Nintendo 64 holds my most favorite game of all, Banjo Kazooie. I still cannot live without that game. The Playstation held Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, more favorite games of mine. The Gamecube just had a BUNCH of fun games, such as Super smash bros Melee, Star Fox Adventures, Mario Parties, etc.

Ah, you know what? Screw it. PC wins every time with this kind of stuff, and I like to game on the PC, so PC is best console.

 

Laptops beg to differ, so IMO, the PC isn't clearly the best console when you have laptops that are inferior than (pricey) desktops.

The PS2 is the most sold gaming console in history to date still as well and it had AMAZING games.
