Firefly founded the Wonderbolts? I see what they did there!

For the three of you who don't know, Firefly was Lauren Faust's favorite character from the G1 show.  It was also the first name considered for Rainbow Dash, but couldn't be used due to legal nonsense.

Lauren has a twitter right? Someone needs to tell her about this, this was like her one wish when she worked on the show.

When I heard her name in the show and found out that she founded the Wonderbolts, I literally squeeeeeeed  .

 

General Firefly does have a nice ring to it, I hope we get a flashback to see how the Wonderbolts formed. That would be truly awesome.

I hope it was the same Firefly as seen on Gen 1. Otherwise, it could be a generic name that is so common or Hasbro is running out of ideas for decent pony names. We won't know for sure until we receive evidence.

I wouldn't be surprised if Firefly was in fact the founder of the Wonderbolts.    BTW, who ever said if Lauren has a Twitter, yes she does.  Sometimes I tweet to her and responds, however, don't get hopes up b/c it takes her a while to answer due to others tweeting her.

Fyre Fly is also Laurn Fausts internet handle. So it could also be crediting her for the creation of the wonder bolts.

The first connection to that name I made was the name Lauren uses on DeviantArt and a number of other places (Fyre Flye). Connecting the Wonderbolts founder to G1 actually came to me several minutes later.

Officially... the reference was only a nod to Lauren Foust.. not the character Fire fly.

 

But its vague enough to be both. I liked the reference but I'm not getting my hopes up for there ever being an official crossover back to G1

Actually, on her twitter Amy Keating Rogers said that she didn't think about that at the time when another user told her the people were flipping out over that and she only used the name because she thought it sounded like a cool name for the founder of the Wonderbolts and she wasn't trying to step on anyone's toes.

 

And she can be one or the other, both, or neither based on what we as individual fans would like to think.
