Creepiest video game music

Its not a song, but a sound.

You know how in Minecraft when you're near a cave you hear those ambient cave sounds that sound like a ghost haunted your house?

That's why I play with the sound off.

As creepy as they are, they can be really useful, as they serve as a warning that you're near an area where monsters can spawn.

Even creepier, though, are the two numbered records, 13 and 11.

Considering the character this song is for, I actually find it more unnerving than it probably is(Morgan's isn't far behind though)

I sorta stay away from the US Sonic CD....

Even more creepy when you hear it used for that one Easter Egg

I have 3 tracks that used to freak me out. All from the Zelda series.

This one made me so paranoid as a kid. It's one of the reasons I had difficulty with the Shadow Temple.

It doesn't help that there's invisible guillotines and shadow monsters that drop from the ceiling to grab you and return you to the entrance of the temple. Oddly enough,Bongo Bongo was the least scariest thing about it.

“I can’t see it, but I sense there’s a thirst for blood looming all around us..."

Another theme that made me paranoid. With the Gibdos surrounding the music house, and the undead warriors that would appear out of nowhere, this music fits perfectly.

Those guardians certainly don't play around, and this theme proves that.

This...This THING...

One of the creepiest ost moments in history, and in what game?...Mario...a mario game.

Unexpected?...yes...but terrifying?...oh yes.

And the creepy part?...you reverse it, and it's practically the same exact thing.

The Devil May Cry 3 mission start music (if I can even call it that) is creepy especially if you have headphones. But after playing the game a lot I've got used to the creepiness. And also the second creepyest, game music would be anything from McGee Alice.

Hoo boy, I've come across quite a good deal of terrifying music in many games I have played. From Giygas' Lovecraftian, madness-inducing theme, the soundtracks of Amnesia, BioShock, The Resident Evil and Silent Hill series, Mother Brain's psychotic music in Super Metroid, they all do a good job reminding you, the player, have to go against insanely deadly, sometimes disturbing or plain horrifying beings of a monstrous or just flat-out evil nature. But one of the soundtracks that has scared me the most is the music of SCP:Containment Breach. This music truly gives you flashbacks of your worst, primordial fears, and certainly helps set the overall sense of dread and hopelessness in the atmosphere. You're just a puny human whose only weapon is his own intelligence, which hopefully will help him outwit these murderous, unholy and otherworldly monstrosities.
