Do you think those involved in making the show visit MLP forums?

If you ask me, judging a fandom by what happens on message boards is kinda like judging a person by what you find by reading their mind. We don't really know what we want and we can be quite fickle. Such is the nature of crowds and we are not exempt.

If the writers or staff are looking for meaningful feedback, it would be better for there to be a scoring system in place the likes of what you find with the comments section for an item on Amazon.com. At least something that rewards meaningful, feedback with substance and weeds out what's vapid and/or unnecessary.

Another thing that the staff can turn to would be fan art. I'm not talking about memes but honest-to-goodness fan art. I know, that also includes clop and other nasty stuff but those are more of a minority -- a mere fraction. The only reason they can't be readily glazed over is purely due to the attention they draw. The point is, art is a form of communication which leaves us with a rather interesting question; what is being communicated with all the fan art produced?

If I worked on a show such as this I know I would, so I would say yes! Even if they aren't members, they might still head on over to sites like this from time to time. Probably also helps them to know what the fans would like to see on the show and that kind of stuff. ;)

If they actually visit this site... they could notice my World Cup thread!

In all seriousness, we'll never know, for they'll visit as guests. But... I did have Daniel Ingram complimenting my piano cover of Fluttershy's Lullaby :D

Though I wonder... how practical would that be? Many producers of content know to be cautious when trying to pander to the whims of a fanbase because ultimately, people don't really know what they want and will always find something to complain about.

I have wondered that myself... maybe they do, maybe they don't, but I kinda hope they do.

And if anyone from the show is reading this... make more Rarity episodes. All I ask.

Well, I would say I wouldn't be suprised if one of them has looked through here more than once. If in fact you are on of them looking at this comment.... PLEASE LET LUNA HAVE ANOTHER EPISODE AND HER OWN SONG!. *coughs* Uh yeah, in all honesty, that would be my only comment to the show creators :D Also, if this gets forwarded to Hasbro, a great thing to do would be to make reasonably priced, show accurate toys. Just that will have a rack up in sales, because that's what everyone is looking for. Thank you for your time.

It's highly unlikely.  I've heard from writers and producers of shows like Star Trek (Original Series) and Kim Possible that they aren't allowed to read or listen to fanmade content.  Because, on the off chance they make something similar to what a fan has made, they can deny any knowledge of the fanwork.

And even if they want to chat with fans, they can just hit up Twitter and let us come to them.

O_O O_O O_O well actually I think they would with secret accounts of course O_O I HAVE heard of celebrities checking their fans' social networks all the time "secretly" so they might O_O

Why bother with secrecy?  Lauren never hid the name of her internet tag.

MY COVER IS BLOWN

That just makes your crush on Rarity creepy.

Wow, you worked in the vg industry? I am not at all asking you to specify where, but I am curious, did you ever work for a well-known company or on a popular game?

Nothing too impressive. I was a programmer at a fairly large handheld studio, but we did smaller versions of console/PC games, and thus were always overshadowed by the "real thing". Check out Sims 2 DS, that's my favorite I worked on :)

Like the The Thrashy One said, a part of me would rather they didn't just because of how some people here talk about them. I'm harsh in my critiques sometimes, but I make sure to NEVER insult them, because I'm a good person, and wouldn't treat someone like crap because I didn't like some work of art they created. I'll say they're work is garbage if it's garbage, but I'll, at least usually, give a constructive critique of what they did wrong and how they should've done it (if I have a solution), but I'll never take out my grievances with the art on the artist him or herself. If I don't give constructive critique it's because I'm not actually speaking to person, tho I need remember that they could be reading at any point.

yeah, too bad that only a handful of people understand that. With those people, it takes only one single mistake or make something that most don't want or expect to get bashed. Yeah, I'm sure they got trained to deal beforehand while they studied their profession, but I bet it still hurts them

yo I just said that jokingly as in who knows! and you don't know if she could have it secret or not just because she never hid anything before doesn't mean she could now I know if I wrote something and had fans I'd secretly make an account it was just an opinion for the sake of fun

It be great if they visited the site. They probably do, but then again I wouldn't doubt it if they have some sort of restriction on them about doing so.

I know writers aren't allowed, or are at least discouraged from reading fanfiction.

They can be active members for all we know.

This.

The thing is, like everywhere else on the internet, you don't know who's on the other side of the keyboard. ;)
