The Queen's transformation from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", most notably when she reveals her new face to the camera after the transformation is finished.

Me as well. Every time that scene came on I'd run out of the room and hide and wait until that scene was over.

There wasn't any family movie I watched that scared me as a kid, dude I grew up on movies like Chuckie, Jeepers Creepers, Trucks, and Terminator.

Except The Neverending Story, Falkor the Luck dragon always scared the hell out of me.

Does Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book count as a kid's movie?

That quicksand scene was quite frightening to see back then and it still disturbs me.

Beauty and the Beast scared the crap out of me. To this day, I have no idea why.

The scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory where they're in the boat tunnel and Slugworth is seen is pretty scary, but what I was even more scared by was in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit when a gun with a long barrel comes out of nowhere and you don't really see who's holding the gun, or something like that, it's been a long time since I've seen that movie.

Pretty much any adaptation of A Christmas Carol I watched when I was a kid. I particularly remember this one because the animation style was desturbing to me for some reason. I remember being on edge even in the happier sections, I really don't know why now though.

But anyway, my mom forced me to watch this version; and once again, I had to pretend like I wasn't scared the entire time the movie played.

For me it had to be from All Dogs Go To Heaven. It was the hell scene.

To this day it's still one of my favorite animated movies though.

I was about 5 when I could use the VCR and would watch this movie. I had a recurring nightmare about the hell scene especially about the devil creature coming out of the lava. Funny thing is the final hell scene is actually TONED DOWN in the movie from the original sequence.

"You can NEVER come/go back" was something in the movie that really disturbed me then.

One really sad thing about the movie is that the voice actor for the little girl was killed before the movie was released along with her mother by her father who then killed himself. She was only 10. :(

Sid? Yeah those were pretty creepy.

I'd say the first time Buzz and Woody met them was pretty frickin creepy along with the scene where the toys rise against Sid creepy as hell. Especially

That

Not only is "Shark boy and lava girl" the worst movie I have ever seen in my life, but I remember specifically crying when they entered the boy's dreams. I don't remember why though. There was nothing scary about it, looking at it now, but I remember being terrified as a little kid.

Freaking Bambi where Bambi's mum dies. The hunter and the gunshots scared me so bad and then I cried.

You should be incredibly thankful they didn't go with the scene of Bambi actually seeing his dead mother then. No seriously they were originally going to have it happen, I think it was cut because of violence or too dark. She was going to trip over a log and get shot, then he was going to find her lying in a pool of her blood with a gunshot wound visible.

Yeah. Be glad you only heard the gunshot. Sure that's bad but it would've been worse.

Same on my end. That movie seriously should reconsider its status as a "children's" movie. It you replace the dogs with humans, it definitely isn't a kids movie in any sense. Seriously, the plot is about a guy whose best friend breaks him from prison and then end up kidnapping a little girl to start a gambling ring to get back at the mob boss that tried to kill the guy.

A couple have already been mentioned. The lampwick donkey transformation from Pinocchio, willy wonka boat scene, brave little toaster. Surprisingly the clown never scared me, but the air conditioner exploding did. In addition to the boat scene, the scene where the girl turns into a blueberry used to freak me out. Beauty and the Beast used to scare me anytime the beast yelled, and the tiger head from Aladdin scared me.

...I can't really remember anything from children's movies scaring me as a child.  I think it's because I understood that they weren't real, so they usually didn't phase me.  There was, however, a Christian video, made by Carmen, that my family would watch that told the story of a life-long witch who's soul was dragged to Hell.  The way in which the demons were designed in that scene creeped me out; I think it's because I believed (and still do) in demons and Hell.

  • 3 weeks later...

Willy Wonka's Tunnel from Hell in the old "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". Nowadays, this scene doesn't scare me at all but back when I was a kid, it was the scariest thing I had ever laid eyes on. The whole movie is so charming and magical, then there's THIS scene. One of the biggest WTF moments ever. I won't post it here just because the part where the chicken gets it's head cut off might get me suspended (will it?)
