  1. Yep Massive will be the easiest vst to use for dubstep (and is quite usefull as an all around synth tbh) although other vsts's can be usefull for wubs as well as long as you automate.
  2. I don't know if King Sombra knows enough dialogue to have a conversation with Discord. Interesting thing is I think Sombra is clearly a bit more evil than Discord (he's more michevious then downright evil). Maybe they had coffee back in the day. *Runs away before someone ships the two*
  3. [update] Well i got my first album (of 3 planned) up on bandcamp. I hope you get a chance to check it out!! It is free on bandcamp http://freewave.bandcamp.com/ Here's the lead off track: Here's an older one on same album. Now just two more albums worth to clean up and eventually get out.
  4. I would really start here. http://mylittleremix.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1369 as this thread will show and teach you a lot of the basics of music. Making music initially is all about a lot of learning without necessarily getting a lot of great results off the bat. Watch a lot of videos and learn the different processes to making music. That forum will help you a lot if you have additional questions. Likewise here is my thread for a guideline from start to finish on how to make a musical track. http://mlpforums.com/topic/48202-how-to-make-a-complete-brony-music-track-start-to-finish/?view=findpost&p=1140153 There's a lot of steps to putting a track toegther and doing it right.
  5. I'm not wild about season 3 tbh but it is still a good show and more importantly I'm still excited by what the fanbase does around it. Not looking forward to another gap between seasons though. The last one was brutal and we're already at the end of season 3 so yet another larger gap. I too believe that part of being a brony is being a kind and compassionate person. I'm sure there's a few people out there who do it becuase they think it's cool, like that there's pony brostep, and otherwise don't care about how they behave or treat others but i hope those are a minority.
  6. Will make album #2 and #3, hopefully work on newer tracks. Keep pony blogging. But yes the last summer break was brutal and now that we have another break between seasons it's going to be awful again. It seems we (as a community) get restless and angsty when we don't have new stuff to keep us occupied it seems. Not lookign forward to that immedaitely after our last long summer.
  7. Doesn't sound like you've read the recent posts on this at all dear... Again on one hand Hasbro has been VERY flexible on copyright and trademark's and that has ALLOWED thebrony community to grow and flourish but if they begin to crackdown on fan related projects that could all change and dry up. It's really up to Hasbro. But yes Mane6 made some poor decisions and they just might not have a way out.
  8. Thanks so much for the review! Appreciate the feedback!
  9. If they didn't want a brony (teen + adult) fanbase they wouldn't be liscencing Hot Topic or ILoveFine adult sized t-shirts and clothing. All they have to do is look at those direct sales to see how much money they make off us. Pony toyss and cards is a bit harder but i still think a good chunk (if not the majority) is BY us.
  10. The sky is not falling but there is a ceiling. When fan creations are getting close enough to resemble official products Hasbro will begin stepping in. Will they eventually cancel this show, of course. This won't last forever. But we're a long way off hopefully.
  11. Well i have pc / steam version sadly so won't be able to xbox. Not sure if you've seen the mlp mods but those are awesome as well for pc. I really have to put together another video for the mods (more of a walk through maybe). I just wish the rips didn't get so grainy (when darker) as i have to convert them to get them into vegas.
  12. Great series, not sure why this hasn't taken off more. The writing is hilarious and sharp, the animation is adorable, voice actors are great, and it's more quirky and darker than MLP (not to compare apples and bananas). I'm a believer!
  13. I know MLP routinely takes down entire MLP episode uploads (no surprise as they're sold on itunes) but what fanmade creation shave they taken down? The Short list: * FimFamPhilosiphy * MLP Online * Pony Archive Anything else?? That's not that big a list....anything else i'm unaware of?
  14. Pretty cool man, you definitely made a different version of it and it sounds pretty good. Would have loved it the vocals could have gotten in there sooner and been a little less dubby and more clear but pretty good and quite energetic. Could work a little more on your EQ'ing as it starts to suffer as soon as the vocals get in there. Still not bad at all!!
  15. Well which is it? You are contradicting yourself. But you are also forgetting that Hasbro, while having multiple wings of a corporation also has the production wing where they MAKE this show (artists, voice actors, writers). They own ALL facets of this show!! Again Lauren handed off the rights TO Hasbro when she created this as MLP existed and was owned BY Habsro before FIM. It's not the marketing team that shut down Fighting is Magic, it's the legal team that protects copyrights and trademark and that's very different part of their orgnanization. Again don't bite the hand that feeds but do let them know if you are unhappy with a decision in a mature way.
  16. They make the show and all the liscencing accordingly. The helped create and own everything regarding this show. Lauren kickstarted the show WITH Hasbro and they've been makign it ever since she left after season 1. You do realize this correct? See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_Is_Magic and then hit FIND on Hasbro. Every paragraph lists Hasbro as Hasbro IS My Little Pony: FIM. They OWN everything regarding the production of this show.
  17. Well some people are unfairly getting mad at Hasbro being a corporation and making some decisions that protect their property. To be fair they've been very generous with us in letting us run wild with their characters and we have responded by making their little show a much larger one through our own fanbase and its creations. We've also made them a lot of money in buying all their products. We have to realize that it is a give and take and that they aren't an evil empire. So by all means get made when Hasbro makes bad decisions and let your voice be heard when they do something like clamp down on Fighting is Magic or if they ever crack down on pmv's or further content. But bronies should support them and not go on hate rants about the company that makes this great show and allow this fanbase to exist. That's unneccesary. OP i don't know how this thread about Hasbro translates into "why you're a brony" other than i agree we need a little more love, patience, & tolerance and less rushes to judgement or anger.
  18. Maybe they can modify the game so it is a true parody, change the names and colors of the characters. They might have a definite right to exist for non-profit parody then. But again they've been given a cease & desist letter so this is a legal matter now and they might not want to deal with financial repercussions. Don't know if Hasbro is interested in obtaining this release as is for free (much like The Rolling Stones kept ALL the profits for Bittersweet Symphony), allowing a modification, or squashing it so it never sees the light of day. Balls in Hasbro's court but we can let them know that we're not happy with their decision. If they changed Derpy's voice because of a few outraged mothers then they may reconsider if we let them know we aren't happy either. Please represent ourselves well and don't flip out though. Derpygate brought out too much emotion and we just need to avoid being childish about how we react.
  19. On their way up. 3/10. like AJ, underappreciated but deadly with a rifle
  20. Now that you can dance.... *dances with you (twist)*
  21. Well I have the first of 3 albums out now that I've planned to collect the brony music I've worked on for a little over a year. It's called U+I and it's out now for free on bandcamp. http://freewave.bandcamp.com/ This album focuses on remixes of some amazing talent (hence the U+I title), some of the more positive themes, and variety of styles and genres of dance music I've made. I hope you check out and enjoy this free album as it has some newer versions of older tracks and is a retrospective of the joy, themes, and inspiration i've tried to channel from the show. It features remixes of And The Rainfall (my pal through thick and thin), Evdog, FraGMenTd, Stars in Autumn, Sub.Sound, Psychedelic Brony, Aviators, SoGreatAndPowerful, Jackleapp, Copycat, PinkiePieSwear, and EverfreeLuna. Second album will be Chaos Squared and focus on villains, discorded ponies, and darker music. Third album will be Bootleg and will feature plunderphonics and sampled medleys, covers, and mash-ups. But those are a ways off so I hope that you check out U+I as it's a labor of love and an album I've been working on for a month or two to just get in shape for you to enjoy. **Hugs**
  22. Biggest problem with Mane6 is they put out a superior product that looks like an official release, got it featured in a game magazine before it was completed, it's against the point of Hasbro's product (fighting vs friendhsip is magic), i believe they also sought funding, the characters are direct replicas and not parodies, and it could threaten their Hasbro's future video game possibilities and how they show off themsleves. If you make something that's not big and transparent you should be fine, Mane6 took too many chance with what they did. I somewhat don't blame Hasbro for protecting what's theres but hope that a compromise can be reached. I hope either Mane6 can hand over the project to Hasbro for something official, or maybe change it in apsects so it IS a parody (change the characters colors, names, etc), or just leak what they have done. But they shouldn't have been so transparent about in advance of its release (2 years of hype) if they weren't on solid ground.
  23. This is an old thread so no idea who still plays but I DO pretty religiously (freewave on steam). I'll admit i pretty much only play versus games as those are a lot of fun (4v4 with alternating human and infected). Only a handful of bronies i know who used to and most no longer play so just rebooting this thread to see if anyone is still out therre.
  24. I wanted to drop this in here as Sethisto from EQD said this not too long ago and it's one of the few facts we have about that site (which lets face it IS the biggest brony site on the net) "EQD gets 70-100k unique hits a day, and music posts get 5-10k views." from here That's pretty massive traffic.
