    Huge gratz on diamond man! Personally I've all but lost hope in ranked atm, seeing as 8 of my 10 placements had leavers. I ended 4-6 and got thrown in silver 1 (from gold 4). So far I've lost 3 games in a row from feeders. I'm so sick of randoms.

    Ah, all right I get you now. Yeah, a budget PC built around gaming wont be much good for memory and processor intensive applications like video/photo editing/rendering. It can still however perform those tasks where a console cannot.

    I don't really understand the first thing you said about functionality, are you implying that a gaming computer is a console and not a "complete" computer? Also I am aware you can find unnecessarily speced overpriced graphics cards but that is beside the point. There are 1000 dollar special edition consoles but people choose not to buy them because they are pointless. Like I said, a gaming computer can be built from scratch for 500 dollars with no free extra parts.

    I agree about PC supremacy being irritating but I still agree that the computer is the best choice. You can easily build a gaming computer for 500 dollars which will run every game on good settings and its just much more versatile than any console out there. So to respond to the thread: I think all platforms are overrated by their users as they achieve generally the same thing. However I think PC allows for more customization and other tasks other than gaming.

    I'm at school currently, so i don't have a job. but i have been a baker at tim hortons, a web developer for an educational site, an engineering intern and a quality inspector on a solar farm. This summer i will most likely be a quality inspector again, but this time on the biggest solar farm in canada!

    last semester i had to take Fluid Mechanics (all 2nd year engineering students have to for some reason even though my major is more computer scienceish), and i can honestly say i retained nothing from it. I failed the midterm (first test i've ever failed) and managed to scrape by with a 63 in the course.

    I'm still playing Azorius Control in standard. I have been making a lot of gradual changes since theros was released but its still the same core, going for early disruption into a t4 supreme verdict, t6 sphinx's revelation and t7 Aetherling/Elspeth. One awesome addition that most UW lists are running now is elixir of immortality, as it allows me to cycle all my revelations and win cons with extra life gain thrown in! came 3rd yesterday at fnm too i have the list on tappedout: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/hope-you-didnt-like-casting-spells/

    Well, if you are going to be competing with pros and want to be able to beat them consistently, you will need to invest a significant amount of money into a first or second tier deck. The way most people get into more professional play is by building deck lists that have done well in recent pro events, then tweaking them to suit their play style and local meta (the decks they play against most often). Some useful sites for looking at decks are tappedout.net and mtgsalvation.com. If you plan on sticking with Gruul (R/G), your best bet is probably colossal gruul (just look it up or check out this thread: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=538361). Some decks can be done quite cheap, but expect to invest at least 100-200 dollars. As far as getting good at the game, my best advice is to not give in to the temptation of switching decks. Find something you enjoy and stick with it, you will learn all the tricks it has and how to use them in different match-ups. Also just play as much as you can, even if it is against someone with a clearly better deck than yours. Simply going through turns/plays will help you familiarize yourself with your cards and tell you what you might want to change about your deck. hope this all helps!

    for a moment near the end, when rarity said she would have to stay in manehattan and that coco pony shows up, i SERIOUSLY thought they were going to like temporarily replace rarity on the show and i was like WTF. but then they didnt and it was k. awesome episode overall though.

    I understand and agree with what you are saying, but being a brony isn't about "living in harmony with those around you regardless of opinion" it's about watching a TV show. There is no reason people have to embrace those ideals because they are part of the fandom.
