If you look at it that way, the movie delayed S4, then yes it did affect you. But seeing as how the movie has already been made and S4 is probably already done, except for in my estimation about 3 months of animating, there isn't much to do about it anyways.

Yesterday, Youtuber Theorybrony, announced he was getting kicked out on the street (I think he couldn't pay his rent don't quote me on that) then another Youtuber, Digibrony, made a video asking for help the from the fandom. And they responded by raising enough money so he could travel to wherever he needed to go to find a place to live. Digibrony has since posted another video saying everything is ok. I think every community has a small group of extremists in it and that group always tries to cause panic and get attention, but then they calm down once the crisis they created has passed. Now, I'm not saying there aren't concerns for EqG, but this has definitely gotten blown out of proportion. I can understand raging inside the fandom, but when you take it to twitter and start harassing people who work on the show, you've crossed the line. This is why we can't have nice things.

I'll probably see it it there's a midnight release or a really early showing, its not that I'm embarrassed to see it, I just want to minimize the chances of sitting next to little kids and their parents.

I'm skeptical on this romance mostly because there isn't enough to go on. Who's to say Twilight doesn't meet a new friends who happens to be a boy. Hopefully they release another trailer in a week and I can analyze the crap out of that one, too.

I don't think they're talking down to them and they aren't shoving anything anywhere. Hasbro sees an opportunity to expand their franchise through a well established dream that girls at that age have, prom, dances, etc. They aren't forcing anything into anyone's minds that isn't already there to begin with, this is the umpteenth teenage high school drama movie ever made, this doesn't change anything. I don't like the fact that this is how little girls think today, but it is what is. Now I can cry foul that they've made characters from my favorite cartoon a part of it or I can be intrigued on how they might put a different spin on things. I have chosen to do the latter.

It seems like a lot of people have forgotten that this show is intended for little girls, not bronies, not the fandom. If you think about it like this, the movie makes complete sense. Little girls dream about things like proms, dances, and weddings. So for the target demographic this movie nails it. Not to be insensitive OP but, since Hasbro isn't targeting you, your opinion doesn't really matter.

Careless and lazy? I really don't think that's fair to them. After watching the trailer through a few times I couldn't recognize any familiar background characters, except Vinyl Scratch who got her own 2 second spot. If that means anything, I wouldn't be surprised if each popular background character gets their own screen time.

You're right in that they've kept their cutie marks consistent, but in the show Octavia's cutie mark is purple and on this girl it's black so that can't be Octavia

I don't think that's Octavia. All of the other characters kept their color and hair from their pony form, I don't see why they would make such a big change in her design.

Snips and Snails can be seen following what looks to be Sunset Shimmer exploding outside during a dance. They are seen with Twilight, RD, AJ, and Rarity at the 0:48 mark

Ah, well I'm glad to see that no one has wings in the human world now. The movie looks to be moving in the right direction for me. I still don't like the way their skin looks but I guess I can't have everything I want. Almost all my other concerns were wiped away by this trailer. Looking forward to seeing Equestria Girls in theaters.

First off I'd like to say, thank you for giving it a chance, which is more than any of my friends can say. You broke down the episodes you watched and listed what did and didn't appeal to you very well. I wish more people like you existed, you have an open mind and aren't afraid to post an unpopular opinion on a site dedicated to a show you don't like. You, sir, have my respect. There is only one problem that I have with you're critique of the show and that is that you seemed to have watched them out of order, and by doing so missed some of the continuity that comes with the show as well as character development and highlights. However, in your short time watching the show you have recognized some of the same faults we have, namely some characters don't grow as well as others and that some episodes have better writing and production than others. MLP:FiM isn't perfect and it isn't for everyone. Part of what makes the show so great isn't the show itself, it's this fandom. So many wonderful things have been created by people who were inspired by this show, its astonishing. Feel free to come back anytime, judging from the comments above, it sounds like you'd be very welcome.

I think it has got to be Fluttershy. She is almost always loving and caring to her woodland friends, but knows how to make them listen with The Stare. She has also told off a dragon, but then comforted him and showed him the error of his ways, which is how a nurturing mother would handle the situation. So by not just punishing the wrongs, but also explaining why they're wrong, in my opinion, makes Fluttershy best mother material.

I understand how you feel I manage a concessions stand at a little league ballpark where all the workers are kids about 11-14. They talk a lot and don't understand common sense. But I have to disagree with your post here for a simple reason, they are kids. The majority of kids appear stupid to those who are older than them. They don't often see the depth presented in tv shows, especially now when there is so little television with depth for kids that age. Not everyone can appreciate something for what its worth. But they often like something because someone they look up to likes it, and they want to be like them, even though they don't understand it completely. There are exceptions obviously, a few kids I work with are smarter than my own friends. So in my opinion, I'd go easy on them and try to explain things to them as best as you can, like you did in your Facebook post. Except for that rape thing, that's messed up.
