  1. Season 1 Episode 18 of Star Trek: the Next Generation.
  2. Absolute favorite? That might be a little bit difficult. But here's a few contenders:
  3. Can people be so moronic as to deny facts and blindly call polls fake for a really dumb political agenda?
  4. One poll is "fake" (which it WASN'T even fake) = another must be also?

The idiocy is getting worse and worse. Freaking alt-right troll on Youtube not even reading my posts, trying to "debunk" FACTS for the sake of his own political agenda... Seriously, what is wrong with this idiot? Is his ego too fucking big to understand that he's being proved to be a dumbass and keeps trying to flip the script with insufficient logic? He needs to get the fuck out of his basement and experience actual life. Seriously, I'm pretty sure the only thing this loser does all day is deny facts and try to make anything left of Margaret Thatcher look like they're less popular than anyone that far right (which yet again, I'VE ALREADY PROVEN WRONG...

He even has the audacity to call ME the idiot. Sheesh can this guy STOP proving to me that he's an imbecile that can't even read and fucking continue on with his illegitimate life? I didn't know people could be this dumb.

    1. Once In A Blue Moon

      Once In A Blue Moon

Firstly, I'd encourage you to try not worry too much about it. I honestly can't think of a debate where I've seen someone change their mind - changing a worldview takes time and reflection.

Secondly, even when confronted with clear evidence a person's mind will try and see it as supporting their worldview. That applies to everyone, of any political leaning. The experiment that demonstrated this quite nicely was done a few years ago (and I wish I could recall where so that I could link it, but it was featured on the BBC's statistics program More or Less) where they took several groups of people and divided them up by their position on gun control and their maths education.

They were then shown (fabricated) statistics that clearly supported the opposite view - so there was  pro-gun-control group that saw statistics that would clearly indicate that gun control was a bad idea, whilst there was an anti-gun-control that saw statistics that would clearly indicate that gun control was a good idea. They were then asked to draw a conclusion.

The results were split by mathematical education, and they found that amongst both pro and anti groups over 90% of those that lacked mathematical training came to a conclusion that supported their worldview rather than the correct one for the statistics they were shown. Even amongst the mathematically educated, I think it was something like 50% to 60% that still came to the 'wrong' conclusion - and as someone who is mathematically educated, and is very keen on the use of statistics, that was a deeply worrying outcome.

What you should take from that is that you can't hold it against a person when they have a particular worldview even if the evidence appears to contradict it (and also to be very careful in using statistics to prove something, especially if you don't have any formal training in it... although one shouldn't use this as an excuse to reject statistics that don't appear to support your worldview.)

  5. Randomly stumbled upon this... Oh... My. I knew the fandom had bad apples... But I didn't know it was THIS bad. x__x
  6. A mod on another forum is really starting to make me REALLY angry. I got a warning for "insulting somebody else" when the post was literally only telling somebody that attacked me for the most childish reason possible to BACK OFF. Heck, he's even told people to calm down in a completely peaceful discussion before MULTIPLE TIMES. Heck, it even seems to be THE SAME PEOPLE EVERY TIME.

Any mod shouldn't be mod if they use their power like this. I really, REALLY feel like reporting the warning he sent me, but I'd probably get banned for it. I don't want that, most people in the other forum are fairly nice people (other than the few that constantly attack and troll, and of course this mod...)

  7. I honestly hope FiM fades away over the next few years, because I don't want extreme seasonal rot and also I feel like it's had a good enough run to end in the next couple of seasons.
  8. Don't people know denying facts and blindly calling polls fake makes them look like idiots?

    Some clearly don't.

  9. I second the notion. The debate pit is more than the most toxic place on this site. It's probably one of the most toxic places I've ever been on the internet. Trolls everywhere who have no idea what they're even talking about attempting a coherent political debate is a nightmare to say the least.
  10. League of Legends did this to me, because I had let it become an unhealthy addiction. In this case, it impacted me in a bad way. Probably caused me to become less friendly and a bit more toxic in general having to deal with so many toxic trolls. TF2 kind of did that to me as well, as it was just so fun to play and it was probably the only game that just made me happy. Paladins may do that to me in the future, but I don't think it will from most indications. I'm thinking I may stop playing if they make one specific change that I vehemently oppose that they tested out on the PTS a few days ago. I hope it doesn't go live for the sake of my sanity.
  11. When you get attacked by somebody for having an opinion ON A GAME'S META.

  12. We have this cruddy internet and my dad is sitting here downloading Red Dwarf episodes two at a time... What is he thinking with this?

  13. I didn't know games could do that. At this point, I don't think any game could do that for me, but TF2 used to be that way for me.
  14. I hope it's not like PPG 2016 if they do make it. If not, even better.
  15. Lo-Rez has an astounding degree of negligence when it comes to their servers. I have been DCed from Paladins FIVE TIMES IN LESS THAN AN HOUR.

  16. I really hate having to deal with my dad's stupid drama...

"Got to feed the chickens to the pigs or let them starve"

More like "Feel sorry for me I'm an idiot who started to raise pigs not thinking about the fact I'd have to feed them." Seriously, I wish I could move out of here.

    1. Ivan The Adorable

      Ivan The Adorable

Oh man, agriculture drama is my jam.

Everyone has a half dozen little side projects  they start for easy cash which ends up consuming their life for a year

  17. Bow down to the husbando god himself. (Only partly serious)
  18. Only the funniest examples I can find of the dankest memes in all of the land. I know it's an anime-related meme, but it's just so freaking funny. "BE GONE THOT" Of course this meme.
  19. When you wake up at 2:30 in the morning and can't go back to sleep.

  20. When a YTPer is so much of a snowflake that it ruins their own videos.

    1. Will Guide

      Will Guide

I bet YTPer is a person who makes nonsensical YouTube Poop videos, but What do you mean by Snowflake?

    2. Nerdy Luigi

      Nerdy Luigi

He constantly complains about how "his opinion is being suppressed" on various topics like the Emoji Movie and Donald Trump when he's trying to do the EXACT same thing that he's complaining about (which NOBODY WAS EVEN DOING BY THE WAY) by trying to say the people that have the popular opinion are wrong. Yes, this is a SPECIFIC TYPer that I have a problem with, and I think the fact I mentioned the Emoji Movie in this should be enough of a giveaway as to who it is for anyone who watches YouTube Poops.

  21. People that think the new change being testied in Paladins' Public Test Server is a good thing. Hopefully it doesn't come out the patch after next or I'm uninstalling the game. Seriously, the item will basically make an ENTIRE CLASS unviable.
  22. Fawful's Minion's Top Ten Annoyances in Video Games countdown.
  23. Probably a while. Luckily, it's had very little if any seasonal rot so far.
