I thought it was pretty funny! Like OP said, it represents a very small minority-- the crazies-- and I don't think it's anything to be too offended by. The one thing it did make me feel bad about is how I keep my pony collection on a shelf... And I'm a 19-year-old girl rather than an 8-year-old one ): But rational-me reminds us all that they are, indeed, pieces of plastic meant for either decoration or play. All-in-all, an amusing short.

Favorite Species of Pony and Why?
autumnalone replied to LyraHeartstrings's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Unicorns don't have everything earth ponies do; they lack the powerful and intrinsic connection with nature that earth ponies have. I hope the show does something to showcase earth ponies' unique talents soon; they really seem to be getting the short end of the stick when they don't necessarily need to. -
Gems are minerals, and a few are formed by chemical precipitation and crystallization of gem- and mineral-forming elements. This means that provided that the local earth has the proper elemental makeup, gem-type minerals can essentially "reproduce" on their own! ^That was a highly elementary explanation there with some assertions that may be false, but I think the general gist is true. Essentially, if Equestria's chemical composition is right... Gems ain't living!

This is a bit all over the place, mostly because I have a nasty habit of putting songs on repeat when I do schoolwork. 1. Forbidden Friendship - John Powell - How To Train Your Dragon (282) 2. SATs... So glad to be free of those. I came from an environment where almost everyone tutored and studied out the wazoo for those tests-- which is highly offensive to me considering that the SAT is supposed to be an aptitude test. That being said, I probably would have done much better if I had tossed away my pride and actually studied. I wound up with 760 Critical Reading, 640 Math, 770 Writing-- 2170 composite?

Hey all! I'm a huge Pokémon fan so I thought I may as well pop into this thread. I'm more of a collector than a battler-- I've made it my duty since Gen III to collect a live dex (keeping one of every monster in the box), and that's what I really get the most joy from doing *_* Not sure how I feel about the announcement of Black and White 2. The new Kyurem formes are certainly odd, but at the same time a nifty concept. I guess we'll have to wait and see how the games turn out

It's incredibly hard-- possibly even impossible-- to mass-produce perfectly styled nylon hair, and would be economically unrealistic for the toy producers to attempt this. Remember that toy line production has to compromise toy quality and sell-ability with factors such as ease and cost of production! The descriptions on the back of the boxes vary from release to release, as to the accessories. They probably mentioned flight on the Glimmer Wings Rarity because that's the draw of the Glimmer Wings toy-- the wings, and the flying action! The original Fluttershy releases came with Angel bunny and a wagon, or, in the larger set, a nursery tree with a bunch of animals. You're referring to the Easter special Fluttershy right now, I think, which is a different case completely! As for Pinklestia: she's long been a problem with bronies, and with me too. The issue comes down to this: bronies are not the target demographic of MLP toys. They aren't ever going to be the main consumers of 'em either, because little girls outnumber bronies! Unfortunately, market research tells Hasbro that a pink pony might sell better than a white one-- thus Pinklestia. Luckily for us, Toys R Us is coming out with a Whitelestia release soon. In conclusion: yeah, you do bring up valid points about the inaccuracies of the toys, but just remember that bronies never have been and probably never will be the top priority of Hasbro. Though the fandom is growing, yes, it's still a matter of numbers. The My Little Pony line has always focused on walking a curious line between playability and collectability, and unfortunately that means that we're unlikely to see highest quality, collector-style items coming our way. ...Unless you count the recently announced Toys R Us line, which features Zecora, Whitelestia, Nightmare Moon, Trixie, and DJ-P0N3. And Lyra's confirmed to be in the wedding line.
