  1. Rainbow Dash obviously suffers significant psychological issues, including Grandiose Delusions, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and an over-inflated Ego with a rock-bottom Self-Esteem. Whether you like that in a character is up to taste...
  2. Well, I never said the effect was bad, but I was talking about what caused it. And also, you can't tell me the behavior Rainbow exhibited in Daring Don't and Trade Ya! was a healthy liking of reading.
  3. Well, it's certainly not as poweful as, say, The Fairly Oddparents magic, considering they can't poof things in and out of existence (including the Sun & moon), and they don't need a rulebook to moderate it...
  4. "Don't be stubborn and let others help you" was from Daring Don't, in Season 4. Which means they are still using simple morals in the in the lastest seasons, even if adding more complex ones. ("don't judge the book by its cover" was from Season 2, and if you take The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 and Read It And Weep as continuous, there's the implicit moral of "don't drink and drive/fly". So they did have some mature morals back in Season 2.)
  5. That looks like Rainbow Dash has also been brainwashed to smile and comply like the other ponies in the village. This may mean it'll be on a single character to make the definite blow to defeat the villain (Twilight?).
  6. Of course not, I would never date a horse. Even if it's a rational horse, it's still a horse.
  7. Here's your horrific communist monster. According to the FCC rating, "The thematic elements portrayed in [this program] are specifically designed for a very young audience of children ages 2-6. According to the FCC, [this program is] not expected to frighten young children." I wonder to what extent does the FCC verify compliance with rating restrictions.
  8. Tsar Bomba. Would guarantee to get rid of the problem. I'ts an hydrogen bomb, not a plutonium bomb. But if that's not an option, then get some drones and perform airstrikes on Canterlot Castle. Would also likely annihilate the invader.
  9. I've always theorized that Rainbow's sudden love of reading (and obsession with Daring Do) was directly caused by brain damage sustained from this crash. After all, if it was hard enough to shatter bone, how would have brain tissue, which is the first thing to hit the ground, fared?
  10. God, I don't think we need to revive this flamewar. Yes, Derpy was censored, and removed from the show, but Hasbro has lifted the ban, and if you want the original version of The Last Roundup you can find it on P2P networks.
  11. If Luna was to assume full (or even 2/3) power, we would probably end up with Nazi Equestria. She has a highly unfit psychological profile for such a role. Ponies don't stay awake during your night? Destroy all life on the planet, and begin by brutally murdering your sister. She has a troubled, to not say depraved personality. She could probably precipitate on diplomatic affairs and do something extreme. Plus, she has little grasp with the modern world in general, and is probably very inexperienced with the political system. That doesn't make for an efficient government either. Honestly if I was Celestia I would keep her in a limited role, and have the guards keep an eye on her. She definitely didn't come back to power in a trustworthy fashion, and appears to have a pretty low acceptance rate from the general public.
  12. The idea was that the steam locomotive hadn't yet been invented in Equestria, but the locomotive was added because it looked weird having the ponies just pull the cars. This was all stated by Lauren Faust. Apparently they invented the steam engine between then and Season 2.
  13. Multiple universes don't excempt you from physic laws. All that means is that different, reasonable events take place in different dimensions (or timelines if you will). And if this happened to me I would scream (and probably neigh along the way) and try to call 911, if I could figure out a way to press the keys...
  14. Well, there's still 5 extremities you can safely break to introduce her to new book series. Prison may work too. The point is that she's not going to try any other books unless she runs of out of Daring Do ones, gets tired of the existing ones, and has absolutely nothing else to do. And even then it would have to be similar kind of book.
  15. By going through this list: https://gitweb.torproject.org/https-everywhere.git/tree/src/chrome/content/rules (Not all of it mind you, but "MLP Forums" caught my attention, and I also watch this show occasionally so...)
  16. These rather shady or distasteful ads are occasionaly displayed by most advertising networks. There's not much that can be done about them, other than perhaps opting for text ads only in Google AdSense.
  17. For the record, I saw you response in the other thread, and it is nice to see you even have plans for HSTS down the road. I understand that you can't have an ETA for full implementation, however I'm going to leave the rule enabled for now, since it's far more complicated to re-enable rules for fixed sites than to disable them. I'll stick around, so you can contact me if you have questions about HTTPS Everywhere or general TLS implementation.
  18. All links pointing to the FAQ (including mlpforums.com/page/faq) return a 404 Not Found page. I guess you should either create a new FAQ or remove all links that pointed to it.
  19. Thank you. I'll hold off from filling a bug report while you fix this problem. Would a month be enough for me to check back and see if the problem is fixed? And it is my understanding that IP.Board does not allow easy handling of both HTTP and HTTPS on the same site. Have you considered defaulting to HTTPS accross the site? If you are concerned about performance you should know that TLS currently causes little processing overhead, specially if your server supports the AES-NI instruction set and you use it with a cipher suit like TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA.
  20. I work testing the rulesets for the EFF's HTTPS Everywhere (I recommend you check it out). While testing this site I found that many embedded media in posts (such as external pictures, YouTube videos, etc) do not load with the browser's default mixed content blocking (block Active Content, but permit Passive Content, see blog.mozilla.org/tanvi/2013/04/10/mixed-content-blocking-enabled-in-firefox-23/ for more information), whereas they should. A good example is this thread: mlpforums.com/topic/4900-rainbow-dash-fan-club/ Try viewing the first pages over both HTTP and HTTPS. The embeds only load over HTTPS after disabling all mixed content blocking. I suspect this problem is caused by the code you use to load such embeds only until the user scrolls down to them. Since this breaks the site usage with the default browser settings, I will have to request that the ruleset for mlpforums.com be disabled by default, which would mean HTTPS Everywhere users would no longer connect to this site securely. I'm notifying you beforehand (or should I say beforehoof?) so you can fix this problem and we don't have to resort to security-degradating measures. I await your response. Greetings.
