  1. Tross is actually talking about the "volumes" that collect issues of the comics. (4 issues each. Volume 1 collects Issues 1-4, Volume 2 collects Issues 2-8, etc). There are "graphic novels" too, but from my understanding those are just episode stories converted into comic form (like the S2 premiere).
  2. Rainbow Dash is obviously the coolest of the mane six, but I think Daring Do is cooler.
  3. Can't say I've ever seen this, but... Sadly, I don't think LGBT representation is why those people wanted that... :/
  4. I am Diamond Luna the Fabulous Griffon, destined to eat books.
  5. Hmm, or maybe the volcano escape actually took place shortly before A Canterlot Wedding?
  6. I actually think it's possible the guy in the cited source wasn't being entirely truthful, considering this: http://comments.deviantart.com/4/1603670/1897651329
  7. Well, if Wikipedia's to be believed, "The ancestors of most modern ponies developed small stature because they lived on the margins of livable horse habitat."
  8. Woah! I was reading that comic for a while, before I started on MLP! Now, I had my reasons for starting on MLP, but I think once I got to it it ended up filling a certain "feelgood" niche for me. Housepets! once played that role, but I haven't read it in *ages* (Edit: Well, not *that* many ages. I think I *at the least* finished the arc with ) . I'm not sure if it did the trick as well as MLP, either. I wasn't a furry or anything, mind; I found it through TVTropes.
  9. The different series *do* occasionally reference each other, so...
  10. There's also the S1 episode Over a Barrel.

    request Inspector Gadget

Recently I've been nostalgia-diving on YouTube, watching that old cartoon, Inspector Gadget. You know the one. Famed detective with a bunch of nifty cybernetic implants, fights the evil Dr. Claw... Except the detective is actually an idiot and his kid niece and his dog play a big role in actually resolving the evil plots. So I thought it'd be neat if someone could make a piece of art based on this. Doesn't have to be anything fancy; You could even use vectors to speed up the process. What I'm thinking of is this: Princess Celestia wearing Inspector Gadget's hat in place of her crown, facing Kibitz (her royal scheduling advisor from the comics) and using Gadget's catchphrase of "Don't worry, Kibitz, I'm always on duty" while tossing the crumpled self-destructing message in Kibitz's general direction. (Running gag in the show. Chief Quimby would always give Gadget messages that would self-destruct in X amount of time, and after reading them Gadget would always end up tossing them back to the Chief or similar... Where they'd then self-destruct) Naturally Kibitz would look scared. (Also, no hoof-tossing. Should be with her horn) Some distance behind her, Cadence (I'd prefer Blueblood, but it seems Blueblood gets some hate) saying to Philomena "I'm worried, Philomena. You'd better follow Aunt Celestia and keep an eye on her." This should be young Cadence as seen in the Canterlot Wedding flashback scenes, of course. If you'd like to use Blueblood, you'll have to make a colt version of him (which is only a problem if you're using vectors, I guess). If you've got any ideas to make this better, feel free to use 'em.
  12. Here's what I said to someone else recently: This suggestion actually is relevant to you too, since the early story arcs might just cover a little of what you're asking about... But I also think, based on what you've asked about, you'll like the Journal of the Two Sisters. Remember that journal from Season 4, that Twilight found in the castle? They made that into an actual book. http://www.amazon.com/Little-Pony-Chronicles-Princesses-Friendship/dp/0316282243/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1430459437&sr=8-1&keywords=Journal+of+the+Two+Sisters The physical book also includes the journal of friendship that Twilight and friends wrote over the course of the season, while Kindle divides them up into two separate purchases. I think the Journal of the Two Sisters itself is what'll interest you more, and you can get the Kindle edition for just five bucks. (Note you can read Kindle books on your PC and stuff; You don't actually need a Kindle)
  13. That's actually really helpful info! Thanks. I got most of my comics via Amazon Kindle, which turns out to... not be so good for comic reading. I use comiXology now, but a sale might be a good chance for me to replace some of my Kindle comics. (I did talk to Amazon to see if I could transfer them, seeing as how comiXology's owned by Amazon... but no dice). They had a humble bundle back in December, apparently, selling all the comics up to that point on comiXology for like $15 (for charity) but I didn't know about that at the time.
  14. Since I didn't get a response, I'm going to assume I wasn't clear enough. What I meant was, this is literally the very start of the series, so are any of them really her friends at this point? (Apart from childhood friend Fluttershy... and I just realized I forgot Pinkie, who apparently knows everyone in town)
  15. But At this point, arguably all of them but Fluttershy could also have been "a group of complete strangers who she doesn't even know".
  16. BBQ, probably. I used to like the pizza flavor when I was a kid, but I guess my tastes must've changed.
  17. Ah, let's let colt_following make up their own mind on that one. Who knows, they might end up liking it. By the way, colt_following, how's your comic reading coming along? Edit: Well. I actually only just noticed colt_following's last post.
  18. Personally I don't even use their app; I just read the comics straight off their website after buying them.
  19. The beginning of Just for Sidekicks shows via a series of photos that Spike returned him to his parents after an incident involving ice cream.
  20. Though to clarify that, it's not like there are four series going on at once - At most 2 at a time. The microcomics ended and were succeeded by Friends Forever, and FIENDship is a special five-issue miniseries just for April 2015.
  21. Personally, I'd begin from the beginning and read in release order. Yeah, they're original stories, not just episodes turned into comics. You might also want to consider buying digital versions instead of physical copies. No shipping costs, no time spent waiting for them to be delivered. comiXology.com is good for that. Here's a (slightly updated version of a) pastebin doc I prepped for someone else that gives the release order of the comics. http://pastebin.com/nTJS2zez
  22. @ Unlikeable Pony One could also argue that Princess Amore was a unicorn to show that not all princesses have to be alicorns - Or that her being an alicorn would force them to explain the vague talk of other alicorns elsewhere in the journal. I didn't quite read your line on the 2017 movie, I'll admit, as I was worried about spoilers for it. @ PathfinderCS Hmm, what do you mean by "backed by Hasbro"? It's an official magazine, isn't it? As for the matter of Blueblood... That could work depending on how you interpret his appearances in Sweet and Elite.
