  1. I love you Sunset Shimmer, but I'm going with Trixie. I wish she was a secondary character like Discord because I can imagine the rivalry between her and Twilight being more entertaining than Starlight vs Twilight in the season 5 finale
  2. I go for Twilight and Discord to be honest. I love Discord's relationship with Fluttershy.......which is why I DON'T ship them. I prefer their awesome chemistry to remain platonic. Whenever Discord wants to get away, he'll have a friend to visit and confide in. It only makes sense Fluttershy will be that friend. Discord and Celestia I accept more as a "history" thing. I've always enjoyed the headcanons where they were each other's first love. But I don't ship beyond that.
  3. Maybe they are testing the waters, maybe they aren't. If I'm to be honest, it seems like queer-baiting at it's finest. In fact, this entire show is like queer baiting. Let alone SHIP-baiting in general: - Marble Pie and Big Mac blushing at each other - Implied chemistry between Applejack and Rarity - Lyra and BonBon - Derpy and Dr. Hooves making harmless physical contact in Slice of Life - Sunset Shimmer and Twilight queer baiting in the second and third movie. Hell, I can honestly tell you that 50% of these ships began the moment fans witnessed a scene or scenes that can easily fall under the "possibly crushing on each other" category. Some people are willing to go through an entire season just in hopes to snag the next SHIP-baiting/queer-baiting (however you see it) scene. That's what you call "keeping things interesting". Keeping the fans shipping and guessing. I'm.not against the idea that Hasbros might be serious with exposing a same sex couple front and center. It's true that the LGBT community is more common than common sense itself. Therefore people think it shouldn't be that much of a risk. But it is still a big risk regardless no matter how accepted it may seem. People who are weary about MLP "coming out" (haha) aren't stuck in the last century, they are cautious in this one. Aware that discrimination still exists and somewhere out here in the western world, there's a large group of people ready to pitch a b*tch the moment a long-time classic franchise integrate LGBT couples on their show. Maybe it's paranoia on our part? But it isn't for no reason. My BEST bet on how this all plays out is that Hasbros will pull a "Nickelodeon" (did I spell that right?). And hopefully you all know that I'm referring to The Legend of Korra xD
  4. It ain't easy being breezy is another episode that teaches when to draw the line. How too much kindness can cripple others, so it's best to know when you need to give.tough love. It also teaches how sometimes tough love won't work, so you use a gentlier method. To be honest, these lessons are executed within the series more than you might think....even through the simplest of actions or smallest of scenes. Its just they aren't always a main focus and can be easily overlooked
  5. There is no set "fact" for who is the better ruler. Everyone's preference is different from the other. I personally see Nightmare Moon as a better ruler but NOT my CHOICE of being my ruler because I'm aware in HOW she rules. She rules with fear and force. Simply put, she's a Tyrant. Celestia is a better ruler in ways Nightmare is not: kindness, morality and humility. She isn't tyrannical, but she is executed in ways one can fairly say are "incompetent" Regardless, it's not that big of a deal (to me at least). If many are saying they think Nightmare is a better ruler, it's only because of their unique perspective on the matter. Not all tyrants are competent rulers....and not all kind and fair rulers are incompetent. But in this case, the show gave it that sort of vibe.
  6. I'm 19 and started when I was.....19 xD But I'll be 20 soon so you could say I became a fan about a year ago from random channel surfing

  9. You're my right hand. You're my "go-to"

  10. I'd like to see Rarity become Nightmare Rarity in the series, if that counts. Not permanently of course, but I liked her in the IDW comics xD I'm sure that'll never happen though.
  11. Well of course! But what you were saying (at least that's what I understand) is that she chose to be arrogant on purpose as a profession. I was only explaining that the real profession is her trying to make a rep for herself as the most powerful pony in Equestria which isn't a bad idea because she is at least aware of what sells. And what sells, is powerful magic no other pony can possess. The only problem is, and this is what OFFICIALLY makes her a fraud (not what you were saying)...is that she's isn't the most powerful. Confidence and pride are perfect illusions when it comes to convincing others. It's what makes lies seem like truth even if you're lying to yourself. But even as a Fraud, that doesn't make her a bad character or a joke. "Frauds" are more common than "The real deal" including people like you and me. Some are frauds because that's all they know. None of us know TRixie's talent yet. From her cutiemark it could be one of the following: 1. Magic. But she's hasn't reached her peak yet. Because magic is all that she dedicates her life on, she has no choice but to use that as her profession even if it's still weak. 2. Illusions and Tricks. You cannot judge a unicorn because she's destined to perform magic tricks, but not destined to possess real powerful magic. Perhaps her profession really was her calling. But anyone with REAL sense will know that claiming "hey I can do magic tricks" will NOT impress any pony. Which can still explain why she upsells herself as a powerful unicorn. It's called marketing. It's called business. It's called life. And yes....it is also called Fraud. When you go to an interview for a job, you upsell yourself in hopes to get the gig and make the money. Facts are great and all, and people do look for truth, but they also want to see how well you can sell yourself and convince them why they should pick you. And that's similar to what Trixie does, Why should ponies go see some normal unicorn perform tricks? What's special about her? And that's when Trixie executes her confidence and pride which is seen as arrogance to others: "I am the great and powerful Trixie!!!! More powerful than any other unicorn in Equestria! AND THAT'S why you should come see me"!
  12. You misunderstand, hun. Trixie's profession is to impress with powerful magic capabilities she does NOT have. Her magic is what many would consider weak. She didn't "decide" to be arrogant and fake. She's like that for reasons that aren't known to us but it doesn't hurt to take certain guesses. Some believe she is the way she is because she insecure that she's a unicorn with weak powers.....and tries to hide it behind a mask of pride which comes out as arrogance to others. It's called impressing the people with illusions and lies. The illusion is making it seem as though she is far more powerful than she actually is. And the lies are, of course, stories to make a reputation for herself and back up her illusions. Even in a world of magic being common, ponies seemingly are still impressed by magic itself. In fact, "power" seems to be a big deal within the FiM series anyway. The powerful you are, the better your reputation. And quite frankly, reputation, whether it's in this world or theirs, is EVERYTHING. There's nothing wrong with considering her profession as a joke. Regardless, it is her profession. Many say Rarity's profession is a joke because she dedicate herself to clothes which isn't a big deal to wear in the pony world. Same for the Pegasi....where their profession is to control weather, but it's been implied many times how unicorns are able to control the weather as well. In fact, many daily tasks can easily be done by "magic" from unicorns: baking, clothing, weather, building, even the rise of the sun and moon. Granted, it'll be difficult, but NOT impossible for any of these. One could then say that any other pony who performs these tasks as their profession are "jokes". Her goal isn't to prove that magic is real "yo give me money because I am a real unicorn performing real magic". Her goal is to prove she's more powerful than the average unicorn "yo give me money because I'm the most powerful unicorn in equestria".
  13. This. If people look hard enough, they'd notice that Trixie never directly brought on the disasters that happened during her appearance. But more so indirectly: She lies and tries to upstage every pony in attempts to gain fame and money because that's what she does for a living. But because of her arrogance and lies, snips and snails caused the big monster bear disaster. In Magic Duel, Trixie stole the amulet in hopes to redeem herself. But because she wasn't aware of the consequences, the amulet took over and caused chaos for every pony in ponyville. Basically, Trixie isn't evil or a bad character. She's simply "human". Making choices without thinking about the consequences of her actions because of her need to prove herself to the world. I'm not a huge trixie fan, but I can understand why she's so popular to the others because many might see her as a relatable character. She's arrogant, ignorant, and TOO proud....but I personally believe she uses these to mask her insecurities for being imperfect. Which MANY of us do all the time.
  14. Time to work on third chapter!

  15. Bump the negatives about this movie and the others. Hell, my butt is READY for the 4th movie to be released Can't wait!!
  16. Thank you xD Well it took awhile (due to my busy week), but the second chapter is now up.
  17. I think I am in the minority here when I say that "Scare Master" and "It Ain't Easy being Breezies" were Fluttershy's BEST episodes. I'll admit that both episodes aren't particular "WOW" episodes and can be categorized as "safe episodes", but both episodes highlight the mature aspect of Fluttershy as a character and provides complex lessons that many do not think to teach. It Ain't Easy Being Breezies: Kindness is a very important virtue, but sometimes it's more effective and critical to give tough love. Too much kindness is a BAD thing for some individuals, and it's important to know WHEN tough love is needed and when unconditional kindness is needed. Scare Master: There's nothing wrong with pushing yourself to do something you don't normally do for the sake of yourself and the sake of your friends. At times, this can result to self-improvement and allow you to discover your REAL limits instead of hindering yourself based off limits you're not sure are real. However, it's also important to know and accept yourself well enough to decide whether it's worth doing for the sake of your friends ONLY. If in the end, a certain task isn't for you, put your foot down and break away from it and don't allow peer pressure to sway your opinion. In both episodes, Fluttershy's maturity was at an all-time high. With the Breezies, she learns a lesson while teaching it at the same time and in Scare Master, she decides to fight through her fears in order to truly discover if she's capable of spending Nightmare Night with her friends When she finds out she IS capable but simply doesn't like it, she does the right thing and explains how she'll continue to isolate herself on Nightmare Night...not because she's afraid....but because she WANTS to and feels as though it isn't her kind of holiday. This can also be seen as a good lesson on friends sharing different types of religion as well. So yeah, these episodes are her best yet for me. As far as "entertaining" episodes go: I'll have to got with Hurricane Fluttershy
  18. I saw Deadpool at a theater that had released the movie early around 10pm. IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. EQG 1: Sunset Shimmer....Extreme evil bratty version of Regina George from "mean girls" with an incompetent plan destined to fail and ugly demon girl design. (hell no) EQG 2: The Dazzlings....inspired by the Hocus Pocus witch sisters with monster high outfits. Adorable idiot Sonata, Grumpy chick Aria, and evil seductive leader Adagio. (Better than last villain ) EQG 3: NO VILLAINS IN THIS MOVIE. Only antagonists. But if you still want to include them>>> Principal Cinch aka Principal Cliché... inspired by all the other old aged mean principal characters throughout showbiz history. Willing to accept magic and risk using it to win a competition between high schools so it can make her look good. Sung an awesome song but only.existed for the sake of the plot. (Not too shabby of an antagonist ) Shadowbolt Six...underdeveloped, admirable names and designs. Existed for the sake of the plot. (Meh) Midnight Sparkle...evil Twilight with awesome demon.girl design. Capable of doing critical damage and was executed better than Sunset Demon Girl. Too short of a scene and only existed for the sake of the plot (better than evil sunset but not Dazzlings) The Dazzlings win by default for me, but I am NOT too crazy about them. They existed as a main focus and weren't just there FOR the plot but more so they ARE the plot imo. Sunset Shimmer is my best pony, but even I admit her sloppy execution in the first movie
  20. Discord, to me, is the only character that has been consistent throughout the entire show. Not once has he ever truly broken character but more so gradually went from point A (an evil manipulative jokster planning to bring Equestria chaos) to point B (a manipulative joskter who joined the good side and befriends ponies) In each episode featuring Discord, Discord is the star. That in itself is important. Of course, he is only executed correctly because he isn't in every episode. Whereas the Mane Six has been in over 100 episodes, so it's understandable that they've broken character or regressed in some way throughout this time because writers need a plot or lesson to teach. However, "What about Discord" was a "miss" for me instead of a hit. That episode depended ENTIRELY on his silly antics ans caused most of the mane six to break character in some way. It just didn't feel right at all. I love Discord as a character and he's funny when he isn't over the top. I disagree that he is exexuted to be overpowering, because he isn't. That's our own speculation based on the fact that Discord's power is HIS own making his chaotic gift a rare thing to possess and tough to beat. But he is defeatable nonetheless. I only hope they be careful in when to let Discord appear. Keep his appearences light, otherwise he'll turn into an annoying washed up character.
  21. I actually liked Glass of Water because it reminds me of "Friend like me" from the Aladin movie sung by the Genie. I just have an appreciation for silly songs like that though I'll agree it depended too much on the wacky antics. Then again, what songs like that doesn't My least favorite will have to be FIRST PART of "The Failure Song". The lyrics were very dry, and Spike did not fit well in it. The second part was awesome though! And lastly, "The Crystal Fair" song. Not any even remember that song, because it wasn't that great at all. I felt as though it was FORCED into the episode and the lyrics were dry and boring as well as the tune itself.
  22. I would consider her a redeemed character because she learned her lesson (even if many things were mishandled through the entire episode in my opinion) and has seemingly moved forward to become a better pony who's grasped the difference between right and wrong. Much like Trixie and Gilda I wouldn't consider her a "reformed character" though, because she never really changed. She simply dropped her "bully act" and learned what she did was wrong.
  23. I just hope that the next Luna episode executes her improving from depression....not regressing or stuck in a funk. She deserves more than pity-point episodes. While all her previous episodes were good...there's potential for something better and more positive and less depressing despite it being insightful/deep
  24. This basically. For now, it's better to accept the "implications " that death EXISTS in FiM (the skulls Cider mentioned, the heavily implied headcanon that AJ's parents are dead, and the alternate future we saw.in the finale where nothing existed) but won't be DIRECTLY executed and/or addressed in any episodes.
  25. Writer's block is really getting to me. So I'm watching Sense 8 out of boredom.....why did I wait so long to watch this? It's amazing!
