That bar from the 1800s I mentioned that was closing. It's going to stay open!!! Another 5 year lease was agreed to at the behest of the mayor. DeBlasio did one thing I like. Wow.

After 190 years this bar in my neighborhood is closing (predates McSorleys as oldest bar in NYC), because the new building owner raised their rent too high. My goodness. It's featured in the movie Goodfellas and even has a New York State history marker on it.

Oh frick, that is massively sad. I really hate when stuff like this happens, when a part of history just fades away like that. If it really does end up getting replaced with something else, I do hope there will be some old photos or something to memorize the previous establishment, hanging on the walls at the new place~

That would be nice... unfortunately so many people just destroy and don't honor the past. My house was built in 1920 and has all the original hardwood floors, plaster walls and hardwood moulding. The neighbors who moved in recently tore it to studs, replaced the walls with sheetrock and put vinyl floors.

Pee-Wee Herman is going to be in San Antonio to screen Pee-Wee's Big Adventure for the 35th anniversary (because of the Alamo scenes) when I'm going to be there. ..I should go.

You could have played your cards and gotten out of this, for a variety of reasons. A koala ate your pie, a kangaroo stole your car, you threw a boomerang and it came back too fast and hit you in the face, Paul Hogan came by and needed you to understudy for him for his next hit film, Yahoo Serious kidnapped you and forced you to watch Young Einstein about 80 times, Outback Steakhouse hired you to be the international consultant to make the restaurants more authentic, you were the last person in your state who knows how to properly play a didgeridoo, a bunch of fish broke out of your dentist's office, so much you could work with so much very disappointed very disappointed.
