  4. I can understand what you're going through, while I don't fear water, I have a fear of vomit, it is medically known as emetophobia. When somebody pukes up on a drama TV program I quickly turn my head away, it has limited me since childhood. To a lesser extent I fear blood as well, but it's worse for me when the blood is real, as I am aware fake blood is either food coloring or dye. I've run into a problem with my fanfic because of this though, and I wrote this on my profile. At the moment I am thinking through which concepts to keep and which to scrap, before I continue on writing it on my notepad. "If it wasn't for this limitation I have, I'd like to write a character arc in this MLP fan fiction which may inspire others to overcome or reduce the severity of the symptoms of phobias if at all possible. Princess Luna helping my OC to deal with fear of vomit in the nightmare realm. Unfortunately as harsh as that may sound, I think that is in character of her to do. But she would not do it to get a kick out of it, rather to gradually minimize the severity of it. Building up resilience to hardship is important for survival, I would think it would be disturbing if she'd do this but I would not say it was cruel. What is cruel is not addressing mental health and letting it destroy someone." Even if I were to be brave enough to write this part in, I don't want to depict the fictional character Luna as a torturer, as that would be disrespectful to Hasbro's fiction.
  5. Phobias too, sometimes phobias can be dealt with through therapy but that does not mean people should make fun of people's fears of something or expose them to the source of it to bother them, that sucks.

  7. I still remember that dream I had weeks ago about zombies I had a nightmare of one getting up on my shoulder and biting my face I'm not a lucid dreamer so I wouldn't know a better way of dealing with this than going with the flow. However it was a very strange dream, as I don't have or use firearms in real life and I don't intend to do so in the future. But in my nightmare I had one, as messed up as it sounds. It truly is as messed up as it gets, and I don't wish you to have the same dream. If it's creepy for me, it's likely creepy for many of you. You know what's funny? some people would enjoy a dream like that, I don't know why, they just would.
  8. Sipping tea, listening to music, talked with family downstairs, the usual. I was talking with some people on this forum about what they don't get is so popular as well, and it's a good thread to discuss. I was critiquing bad decisions heroes make in fiction, though I suppose some of their decisions are better than nations acting like world police in real life. I could imagine it, I have a lack of trust in institutions and there are good reasons for it because they often cause more violence than solve, from police brutality to foreign aggression. I sometimes do wish we had a Justice League to clean up their mess. DCAU is a good storyline in my opinion as it goes into detail of what would happen, if law enforcement had a conflict with superheroes, Project Cadmus I think it was called. Thankfully in Batman Beyond that issue got resolved and the cloning experiments however well intentioned got outlawed, but I doubt it would go down the same way if this were to occur in real life, why? because if such a technology like Cadmus were to happen, it would become very profitable and it would be easy to abuse. Justice League may not be on the right side of the law all of the time in DCAU fiction, but then neither are people we have in power IRL, they break laws as well. It comes down to who does it more often or who is worse. This may not be a popular opinion but I'd trust Justice League more than them. It is highly conceivable that authorities would choose to do nothing about corrupt business people, Lex Luthor does not exist but people like him do exist in real life.

  10. I don't know about you Night Sky, but I am thinking if I carried my phobias over into Equestria in a fantasy world scenario, I'd be a liability to anyone there in a battle. Villains will use whatever weaknesses you have against you, if Chrysalis took advantage of my phobias, I'd have no chance of winning, even with magic. Panic attacks can have that affect on people, I'd become either unresponsive or yell out in desperation. I'm not a good fighter but that's not the only reason. That's one reason why I would want to be a Pegasi and not a Unicorn, even with a new body if my mental health issues carried over, magic would not be much good to me. In fiction mastering magic often requires will power and focus, as Carolinus said in Flight of Dragons, imagination is the most potent of all magic.

  11. Don't misunderstand me, though I think it is sad Chrysalis never reformed in MLP, I totally understand why Luna and Celestia had her turned to stone permanently, she was given more than enough chances. What else do you do with a monster who tries to kill you? That to me also solidified (no pun intended) the fact that Luna and Celestia are good Rulers of their kingdom. I would have no problem being loyal to them if I were in that fictional world. Even with their questionable choices at times, I look at the bigger picture, not just imperfections, if the good outweighs the bad, I am willing to compromise with somebody.

  12. That is exactly why I would fear Queen Chrysalis if I were in that fictional world. Mean temper, makes death threats if she does not get her own way. I don't mean to sound like a coward but I really would not see many scenarios where I would be willing to fight her. If a friend was in danger, I'd be forced to, but if I was on my own or with someone who is also a jerk, I'd try to run away.

  13. I'm okay with certain types of anime, however the problem with some of them is not just the fillers, it is also how characters interact in the story, and it seems, particularly like with shonen such as Dragonball, they often do things which nullify their character development which I admit, makes me want to shout at my own screen sometimes. I think the screaming and muscles argument or criticisms about laser fights is a shallow one though, there are far worse things going on in the show that bother people even more, even to fans who watch them. I'm not annoyed because Goku has a Kamehameha beam struggle against Vegeta's Galic Gun in the first season of Dragonball Z Kai, Goku was in a tough spot and he had to do this to block the attack from blowing the planet up, to suggest Goku not engage in the laser fight to protect Earth in a precarious situation like that is ridiculous and shows how little knowledge people have about what goes on in the show. If they find laser fights boring, then don't watch it, simple, it's not that hard. I'd caution them against watching Star Wars though, if they find lasers boring. What grinds my gears is when Goku makes bad decisions later on which do put other characters at risk, such as that time when he tosses a Senzu Bean for Cell to eat, or when he gives Frieza some of his own energy while Planet Namek was about to explode and he had so little time left. And that is one of the many examples where heroes make reckless decisions, sure, Goku is not supposed to be the most clever character out there, he is not a scientist or anybody like that, he is a warrior, sometimes foolish choices can lead to comedy but not in a situation like that. Even in Dragonball Super, the inept heroes of the show let Frieza live even after he manipulated Broly into attacking Goku and Vegeta to try to kill them. There's no growth, no wisdom in the two characters, that is bad writing.
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is a situation where family counselling would be appropriate, it seems they have issues that need to be worked out, particularly her mother. And I am not talking about TV Talk Shows either, those are unprofessional settings where families bring their embarrassing secrets out in the open, and it is known as a human form of bear baiting, this is why Jeremy Kyle show got shut down on ITV after a situation about it led to one of the guests of the show ending their life IIRC. What I am talking about is people discuss their issues privately with mental health professionals.
  15. Am I imagining this or is Transformers Energon OST epic? I like this one.
  16. I have phobias, fortunately it would not be with animals with the exception being, watching an animal get eaten, get injured or vomit. I turn away whenever I see predators eat other animals on wildlife documentaries. I cannot say I would hate to be with either of them in their fictional world, however I would fear potential arguments with Rainbow Dash from time to time, then again I am not perfect either, if I received a scolding by her about anything, I'd probably deserve it anyhow, it is possible to do something foolish without necessarily meaning to hurt others, and I'm not as clever as I'd like to be, perhaps that's something I do have in common with her. Applejack is honest, and sometimes that can lead to her having arguments with others as well, as she has done so with Fluttershy on occasion. She is okay to be a friend of however her no nonsense attitude will lead to disagreements and she makes no secret about it, if she thinks you're doing something wrong, she tells you how she feels. Whether that would lead to me having arguments with her if I was there in that fictional world with them, I don't know, but if she had an issue with what I said or did, she would probably have a good reason. Twilight Sparkle is okay, however I don't read a lot of books, so that is not a typical situation I'd be involved in with her, she has other activities too though, sometimes visits to different parts of Ponyville or even beyond that region. Fluttershy would be easy to get along with however spending too long around anypony would feel like violating their personal space, I have daydreamed about wearing flower crowns with her at a meadow as a symbol of friendship but I would not force that on her or anyone. I'm content with doing simple joys on my own if need be. Actually, I may even be too nervous to approach such a gentle and kind soul like that. Pinkie Pie is social however there are times where I'd want to be on my own same as anyone else, if she got up in my face all the time, yeah that may bother me a little. At the same time though, I'd be patient with her because I know she means well. Rarity is hilarious sometimes, I could definitely see fun adventures with her happening just as she did with Pinkie Pie. I'm not allergic to cats, so Rarity's cat would not bother me at all. Friendship with Rarity would mean a lot of helpful things, like learning how to speak more formal and polite because that is important both for starting friendships and respect for other cultures. I daydream about being reincarnated in that fictional world as a Pegasi, like @Night Sky does on this forum, yeah we had a discussion about that, good talks. What an awesome experience it would be to make new friends in an extra-terrestrial environment filled with cute and intelligent talking Ponies and other sentient life forms there. This is one of the few instances where I could see a friendship going well with a main character list if I were in that fictional world with them, even in some alternate timeline where their behaviour was very similar if not completely the same, as long as their core values of friendship are not compromised, it's okay.
  17. I was messaging a friend telling that person that I think it is important other people have a nuanced perspective when it comes to issues of privacy While some secrets are good to keep, the problem comes in when secrets are kept from friends, even if those secrets involved one person being manipulative about it. I think in My Little Pony FIM there are both good and bad reasons for Princess Luna to enter another's dream world, but her going into others dreams is not an absolute one way or the other, it depends. I wished the show went into detail about that side of it, up until now Princess Luna's dreamwalking involved things like helping Ponies overcome their fears, whether it was CMC not getting cutie marks, or some other issue, but I don't recall an instance where Luna used her dreamwalking abilities to find out a dirty secret from somepony who was being dishonest with others about something, even in A Royal Problem, that was more like both regal sisters conquering their inner demons than anything else, it wasn't so much about a Pony lying to someone. This is highly important, because keeping secrets from friends can ruin a relationship, sometimes even forever. A nuanced perspective on issues of privacy and secrets would be another fiction from DCAU, Batman The Animated Series episode Old Wounds.
  18. As you say that, I picture in my head Spongebob finding people's lost Gopros in his world. Mr Krabs wants more employees!
  19. I was thinking about a thought provoking discussion I had with somebody else earlier about the what ifs of living in Equestria. I agree not everybody would like to be in that fictional world, some people may even think the idea of going there is irrational even in a fantasy world scenario it could happen, but whether people like it or not, there are forum threads about this. I assume the same has happened about several other fictional worlds as well, yes I would not be surprised to see this being common, but who cares, what matters is what is being discussed and why. There are some fictional worlds I would absolutely hate to be in though, Dragonball verse being one of them. Sure having the ability to use and sense Ki would be cool, but the issue is oppressive gods and incompetent heroes who do nothing about them. Android 17 had the ideal opportunity to deal with Grand Zeno with Super Shenron, and he decided to resurrect a multiverse instead, forgetting that could have been done later on. Why didn't he just order Super Shenron to erase Grand Zeno and his Priest who serves him? that would have dealt with a problem that has plagued so many innocent souls there and then. Later on, Goku and Vegeta let Frieza live despite the fact Frieza tried to use Broly to get revenge. That was the last straw for me, and I am so done with Dragonball because of this. DC Universe is not much better either, as they too have horrible gods that due to their incompetence, universes get erased willy nilly and then Spectre has the gall to blame Constantine for this, like in the Infinite Crisis storyline. Compared to those universes, walking into Equestria for me would be like walking into the Kingdom of Heaven. I would not have to worry about Celestia or Luna attempting to murder me or other citizens just because we did not do what they asked or tell us to do, pretty sure they don't use torture either.

  23. I might add a creature into my MLP fan fiction called teramites, a supernatural parasite that feeds on emotional energy, similar to that of a Changeling. Also a witty play on the word termite, which is a wood devouring insect.

  24. I've ascended to dragon! yay, but I cannot eat gemstones, or they would make me sick.
  25. I'm not ashamed of my My Little Pony FIM fan fiction, though I have not been working on it lately, I still got the notepad where I pencilled it in, stuck on chapter 3. I still have not been in the mindset to continue it lately, I've been distracted and plus mental health hasn't been the best either. I hope I am not causing problems for others here with that.

I do wish to continue it some point though, probably in a couple of weeks, I know not everybody would choose that rebirth if they got to exist in that fantasy world, and in that situation I would never wish for that to be forced on you. But even though they have scary villains, that would not stop me from wanting to go there if I could. Our world has villains too, you don't need to watch Scooby Doo Where Are You to know that much, real life villains are not demons and ghosts, they are people who make bad decisions for personal gain.
