they also have a somewhat unique vocal style.

>Unique vocal style

All that I can think of in my head is Steve Von Till

Right when I first heard this song off of Axe To Fall, I could immediately tell who it was.

I can't get enough of this album, one of the essential Post-Hardcore albums, you can't call yourself a fan of Post-Hardcore or maybe even Hardcore music in general unless you've listened to this album, or any Hopesfall album for that matter, 100 times.

Sucks that they aren't together anymore, The Satellite Years for life.

Speaking of essential Post-Hardcore albums

I thought this was a metal thread, not a Post-hardcore thread. Anyway, you can certainly call yourself a fan of hardcore without liking that as actual hardcore sounds nothing like that.

(lol jk)

Anyway, I went ahead and bought that Everblack album by The Black Dahlia Murder. I hope it was worth it cause it was pretty expensive lol. The CD case looks cool as heck though, just saying.

Dude, calm the fuck down, genres that are related or close to Metal have been posted here before, and by Hardcore I was referring to all of the genres that stem from Hardcore, not just actual Hardcore. You should also be aware that the part about "Not being a fan of Hardcore" was just a simple joke.

Anyways, I might as well leave something

And I'm perfectly calm, so it's impossible for me to calm the fuck down. It seems you are the one who needs to do such. :P

Anyway, Post-hardcore in general is clearly punk based, not metal, hence the name, didn't you have a thread devoted to hardcore based music?

As for that song, my brother showed me the band, apparently that album is the most universally critically acclaimed album in any genre of the year.

I never said it was Metal based or meant to imply it, I said it was similar, and still we've had Post-Hardcore stuff on here without anyone caring so I see no reason to not post it. As for my Hardcore music thread, I gave up on it, the thread's been bumped up about 1000 times so I got sick and tired of bumping it, though I won't care if someone else does it.

Anyways I'm done with this, let's get back to just posting our stuff:

Amazeballs. Simply, amazeballs.

This song embodies everything that I love about power metal. I've never heard of this band but I'm sure as hell gonna make sure I remember them.

Ok I HAve returned from the dead! What has it been? Two months?

ANYWAYS I've been a busy little metalhead been to a few concerts got my mom to listen to Kvelertak and Rammstein.
Went and saw Children of Bodom and Insomnium I highly recommend Both live BTW. Bought a new Amp and a pretty badass find to add to my Vinyl collection etc.

Now... Shall we travel to the gates of hell and back on The Winds Of Plauge

And to make up for that Insanely long intro Lets Head to the Gallery Of Suicide Shall We?

I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but I got The Great Misdirect by BTBAM, and in my opinion, it's not as good as Colors or Parallax II, but it's still good for sure.  I feel like songs like Obfuscation could have used some clean singing, that song gets boring cause it's just screaming/growling the entire song basically.

If you guys do not know about this band now you do. They are a German Black metal band from Munich and all around they kick major ass. I found out about them after i saw one of their CD's at the store the other day. They innovate on the genre without straying too far and could hang with any of the Swedish giants. They are called Imperium Dekadenz and are entirely too good to be overlooked.

It's definitely up there in the eyes of the critics. The listeners are very split, however. For me, it's album of the year, no question.

Freaking love this song. Probably the best find I've ever had to pop up in youtube's recommended videos. I can't believe I haven't heard of the band prior.

I think the music is absolutely beautiful, but the vocals...are...uh...doing something, and I'm not quite sure what. They're rather odd.

Since you were all on your post-hardcore binge before, here's something to contribute.

I think the vocals are just as beautiful as the music. Wrought with sadness and fear, perfectly juxtaposing the uplifting chord structures.

Never said it was. I'm really not sure what to think of it.

Maybe that's it, something about it just seems to different about them, both from the song and from other vocalists.

I think that it's safe to assume that you think that every area of that album is 100% flawless/beautiful by now. Treeboi the Sunbather Addict.

Probably my fave song off of Acceptance Speech, and one more Post-Hardcore band for you all:

I can't dig them, they're not a bad band by any means but I'm not too huge on them, though I don't mind hearing them and will occasionally put them on.

I listen to metal all the time, including when I wake up in the morning. And one does not simply listen to metal quietly. I have actually moshed with my roommate when a good song came on, just me and him, nearly put a hole in the wall once. laugh.png

I've been all over the place this weekend.  Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison in the last three days.  Nice to finally be home, fuck.

Have some AoT.

This guy does all sorts of covers, and did a MLP cover a while back.  He's pretty sick.
