I'll be damned if I'm the only person who listens to the epicness known as Godflesh, Jesu ain't got a damn thing on them

*prefers Jesu*

Their new album dropped, right?

Oh wait... it did. I'm pretty psyched to hear this, but it's time for my routine Sunbather lovegasm. Seeya in a bit.

Saw these guys live in Minneapolis last night, and as soon as the started this song the whole venue went into insane headbanging mode \m/

My neck still hurts from all the headbanging, and my ears are still ringing... XD

so Altar of Plagues broke up, as if it wasn't bad enough that The Chariot broke up and one of the members of Eyehategod died, *sigh*

I haven't heard anything but Teethed Glory and Injury, but it's enough to sadden me to see Altar of Plagues go. Black metal has had a good year thanks in part to their contributions.

Funny since I've heard everything expect for Teethed Glory and Injury, you should definitely listen to White Tomb though, it's an epic album.

Will do, but you may want to hop on the Teethed Glory train. It's one of my favorite black metal albums of this year.

This one comes in second place on the 2013 BM countdown, and I think you know what first place is.

Well actually yes it is Sunbather (good guess) but this demo is still really great regardless.

I've recently discovered these guys, freaking amazing. I really want to see them live, but I haven't heard any tour dates for Canada.

Also, I'd like to share this. These guys destroy me live, I mosh so hard.

New Onslaught record is pretty nice, but I can't stand the terrorist stuff in Children of the Sand.

The new Death Angel is about as mediocre as their last record. Maybe a little better, but still average. And while I'm at it, what happened to Djenty that got him banned?

Well, this one of my favorite soundtracks from one of my favorite games. I don't know if it counts, but here. It's really cool, and pretty heavy. lol

Doom 3 Theme Song

Funny thing about the Doom soundtracks, a good chunk of them have been based off of other metal tracks (the most infamous one being the Master of Puppets sounding track, At Doom's Gate), and the best part is that the composer found a way to create the tracks that reach the limit amount of notes(?) that can be used before it can be considered a rip-off of another track. It's clever of him.

On a separate note, I have no clue if it was @ that first mentioned these guys, but I really like this track.

Seriously wish that the rest of that album had the same bass power as the track.

So I got the album Blood Mountain by Mastodon recently. I would say these are my favorite songs right now from it:

Colony of Birchmen is most likely my favorite Mastodon song I've heard so far.

Wasn't me, but I really enjoy that insane riffing - just the kind of high-energy rhythm work I like to hear. Also like that the singer's voice is 'pitchy', if that makes sense, as opposed to the completely guttural garbage I'm sick of hearing.

And just because it's randomly stuck in my head right now, here's some Flotsam and Jetsam:

Not really a fan of everything they've come out with, but this album and a couple others were pretty solid in my book.

I don't mind some of the guttural vocals, but sometimes the 'brutality' gimmick gets fucking old quick. And I keep on being told that everything after No Place For Disgrace was kinda crap. Then again, it's usually guys that really dug for their thrash that tell me this so... I think it's a decent track.

On a separate note, Paradox is gonna be working on a new album soon. This is good considering how nice their previous two albums sound.

I'd mostly agree with that, at least from a thrashhead's POV, but I thought Dreams of Death was decent. Definitely miles ahead of the few albums that came before it, which delved into what I call "Avenged Sevenfold wannabe" territory.

It's not terrible, but it's pretty 'meh' when every other track sounds like a repeat of the same song. But I guess that's true of just about any band and genre.

Also, looks like I'm gonna need to look into this Paradox. Now THAT shit's what I call "metal vocals".

Flotsam and Jetsam - My God

It's not terrible, but they sound like they don't wanna decide between straight thrash or a progressive thrash vibe.

Excellent choice. Heresy is the best album by popular vote, but Collision Course, Riot Squad and Tales of the Weird are good albums to check out too.

I think I still have that band name saved in photoshop.

He posted some loliporn, anyways it's nice to have you back. Finally, someone with good taste in thrash metal.

You can't be fucking serious. Why the hell did he do that?

But I am serious, he told me that he felt that he needed to leave MLP Forums for good and that the only logical way was to post loliporn. Oh Djenty... x)

Anyways I'm listening to Jesu right now, I'm totally digging the whole post-metal mixed with ambient electronic thing.
