Is it wrong to have a lot of pony merchandise ?

Oh heavens, no! You should see my bf's apartment. It's full of pony merch! There's never too much pony merch to collect. Right now I'm collecting a lot of MLP CCG cards as I get the chance, as well as getting figurines, and clothing as well. I'll move on to the more awesome stuff like plushies! My room needs those to complete my pony collection. :D

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH PONY STUFF. That is one of the basic rules of life. I take as many of the small brushable ones as I can (cheaply) get, and then go crazy trying to correctly style their hair. I also have a couple shirts, and a pair of Rainbow Dash earrings. If I had more money, I would have so much more, but as babysitting is an irregular job, I take what I can get.

No such thing as too much pony merch. I mean, if it's something of interest to you, why not have a lot of it? Cycling is my main hobby, and I'm always buying stuff for it...new parts,gear...etcetera.  :squee:

Heck, I buy any bit of Fluttershy merch I can get my hooves on. My collection of her grows on a monthly basis.    :yay:

I don't see anything wrong with buying a ton of merchandise for anything if you are a huge fan of it. When you buy that stuff it supports the company too so it is a win-win. To me, it is actually better to indulge in this things if you can if you really enjoy something, to me that's a positive thing. I have bought tons of merch and two of the walls in my room are covered in things, that's just expressing your love for the show.

It's one of those simple pleasures of life hand I am all about simple pleasures. :3

Who cares what others think? In these kind of matters it's just important to satisfy yourself. Seriously, that's all there's to it. I personally don't own any merch, but i wouldn't mind it one bit if my room was full of it. I think it's cool to enjoy a fandom and a hobby, just saying.

If you want REALLY OVER THE TOP, just look at the EQD Pony Collection Event: Bronies are Rich edition and see the main reason yours is nowhere near "too much". (Not all of them are huge, but the first one definitely is X3!)

But that's not too much anyway! I get the feeling that if I had money to spend on pony merch and more room in my room, I would have a lot of pony merch too. :) Probably more than you, lol.

Personally, no. I have a rather large collection myself.  (5 Build a bears, and 58 brushable ponies, and 20+ blindbags, some shirts and a skirt and a backpack.  + my whole wall is full with my MLP drwings...)

As long as you keep your collection organized you can have as much as you'd like.

I have so much, and still want more...

If said yes I'd be a hypocrite because my room is starting to like a shrine to Hasbro.

Nope as long as you are you, then I don't see any problem with this.

I've got quite a sizable collection of Rarity things, myself :D As in, exclusively Rarity things.

I'll spoiler it below, because I've flashed it a few times and don't want to be seen as bragging, but those who are interested can still look at it if they desire to.

So eh. For me, I collect all of this stuff because I love Rarity and have fun with it. As long as you're not spending money you don't have, I say go right ahead and have a large collection if you desire :D

Oh my what an impressive Rarity collection, and might I ask what type of guitar that is one the side?  :D

Just a standard, off-brand precision bass. I used to have a Fender Jazz, but I sold it off and downgraded to this one because I was in need of money.

My pride and joy is my guitar, which is a Washburn Lyon, but I still prefer playing the bass. Both got some Rarity stuffz on them, though :D

Nonsense! Do what makes you happy! My mother saw that I had one Rarity and one Fluttershy plushy in my room (thanks to my supportive girlfriend) and she claimed I was "taking it too far."

That very same day I was brave enough to purchase a Derpy vinyl figurine from Barnes & Noble to add to my collection and not a single buck was given. :P

Old thread is old, but if it gives you any more validation, let's just say I'm nearing $2K worth of merch and I dun' give a fawk. If collecting is something you love to do, then by all means, keep expanding that collection. As long as you're not outright squandering every last penny and are responsible enough to put an adequate amount of money aside for bills and for savings, then it's all copacetic. ;)

Of course not. Collect as much as you would like. Just make sure you organize them well enough so that you don't lose any of them. ;)

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.
