I'm having a really big problem with Ram where i can only use 2.97GB of the 8GB i have installed and i can't figure out anyway on how to fix it. Most of my ram is in Hardware Reserve. Most of the things i found on the internet didn't help and i can't find any setting in the Bios to fix this problem. I believe that my onboard/Intergrated video card is putting most of my ram in Hardware reserve but i don't want it to do that.

If anyone knows any way to fix this then I could really do with your help and if you want to know anything else about my computer then just ask

Well what I would suggest is to look to see if your RAM is being limited instead.

msconfig> boot tab> advanced options> uncheck the maximum memory if it is limited (This may cause a decline in FPS)

If it is already unchecked, you can see what exactly is happening to the RAM by typing "resmon" in the search and clicking the "memory" tab.

Maximum memory was already unchecked and this is what it says on resmon

Well Microsoft has a page which details about hardware reserve (It says windows 7 but it's still applicable to 8) and I'd suggest updating the bios and enable memory mapping first as stated on the support page.

My Bios is fully updated and their is no Memory mapping setting in my bios

It's a msi bios so it looks like this.

Usually it's found under Advanced in settings, but if not all else I can suggest is try reseating the RAM or trying it in another system to see if it's even good.

I don't know what bootcamp is?

That probably means you're not using it. The issue you encountered happens on computers which run Windows through Bootcamp. Bootcamp is a software provided by Apple which allows Mac users to install and use Windows.

In your case, we can rule that out.

So what now? and it's not a Mac anyway

Well, all I can say is that it is not a hardware problem. Now, what I was going to suggest has already been suggested above. So, I would advise you to get in touch with Microsoft Technical Support.

Okay Thanks and also, I kinda lied. My Bios isn't fully updated but i'm too scared to update it since it could break my whole computer if i get it wrong.

The update did this:

- Update AMD AGESA Code.

- Implement WHQL setting.

Well, lying is not good, lol

Updating the Bios may resolve your issue and I think you should try it.

Is your version of Windows 64-bit? Not sure whether or not there's even a 32-bit version of Windows 8, but if there is you should make sure you have the 64-bit version.

From what I recall, there is a 4 GB RAM limit for 32-bit Windows operating systems, which might explain this.

That feel when I can't read ._.

Well, I don't really know what else could be causing this, but I hope you get it figured out.

(edited)
But what if everything brakes?

Your motherboard does not seem to have a dual bios. So, if the update fails, your computer will not start until you manually recover the Bios from the chip. If your motherboard does not have a built-in Bios recovery, you can buy a  new motherboard straight away.

Well is their anyway the Bios could break by updating?

A shot in the dark here, I remember having an issue like this before and it ended up being a memory incompatibility. The verified memory list for your board is here:

http://www.msi.com/support/mb/FM2A55ME33.html#support-mem

Can you verify that the RAM you are using is supported?

You might also try swapping and reseating the memory modules, but that may not help. Worth a shot if you're poking around in there anyway.
