Oh, Fox news you never fail to disappoint me do ya. Honestly, how does anyone in their right minds take these people seriously? How do these people even have a career on TV? It just makes no sense.

I don't even hate the entirety of Fox News but the people on there sometimes are ridiculous.

Yes, the hoodie does make a black kid seem like he's "gangsta." But to blame the incident on the fact that he was wearing a hoodie is just wrong. What that actually does is encourage racial stereotypes. "Hey, every black kid who goes out in a hoodie is about to shoot someone! So protect your black kids from being stereotyped by not letting them go out of the house with a hoodie!" No, that doesn't help end racism. Trayvon may have still be shot if he wasn't wearing a hoodie anyways.

The only thing I don't like about the media's reporting of this case is that it's making it seem like racism is still prominent in our lives based on one shooting of a black kid by a half-white half-hispanic. The truth is that while the shooting is indeed a tragedy and it does seem like Zimmerman shot him out of racism, Zimmerman does NOT represent white America. Most white people are not racist against black people. Most latinos are not racist against black people. Yes, racism still exists, but it exists in pockets, not the whole outfit.

I have hoodies. If the hoodie is the deciding factor of what makes someone seem "gangsta", I qualify.

Well of course there are other "deciding factors" (usually sagging pants or stretched-out beaters) but yeah, point is that the physical attributes don't make a gangsta. It's their beliefs, their actions, and their friends that do. There may be other things but for the most part, you can't just label someone as gangsta just because you think that someone looks like one...

About time someone realized how dangerous those things are! I wear a hoodie pretty much every day and I average 2-3 attempted homicides per week!

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

Not much experience with fox being norwegian and all, but it doesn´t exactly have a great rep.. Anyway, clothing had nothing to do with this. Its the same thing that when I was a teen, we couldn´t wear bomber jackets as it was considered a neo-nazi thing(actually banned from school). Clothes dont create a person, its just clothes.

A bit off-topic, but I think you'll get my opinion on the whole "Are hoodies to blame!?!?!" debate.

Tomorrow in Congress:

Congressman: "Mr. Speaker, I allot 5 minutes of my time to the gentleman from Florida."

Speaker: "The gentleman from Florida has the floor."

Floridan: "Mr. Speaker, I am here to present the Murder Prevention Act of 2012. A new study has found that 97% of murders are committed by people wearing shoes. This act will ban the evil shoes, bystanders in horrible crimes, and make wearing shoes punishable by fine. Repeat offenders may be imprisoned. Now, to spread support for this law, I am wearing only socks today, so I can assure you that I won't be murdering anyone today. I present a motion for debate on this resolution to be taken up."

Speaker: "All in favor say Aye."

*Four people say Aye*

Speaker: "All opposed say Nay."

*Silence of 430 other representatives sleeping or playing Angry Birds*

Speaker: "Moderated debate may commence. Let's see here, the gentlewoman from Alabama has the floor."

Alabaman: "Thank you Mr. Speaker. I speak for all of my constituents in pointing out the terrible, terrible problem with the Act presented by the gentleman from Florida: It has not been specified where we'll get the money to pay for it."

Floridan: "Well, as detailed in Section III, Social Secutiy will be slashed to fund the new War on Shoes."

Alabaman: "Thank you for the clarification. With that cleared up, I would like to cosign this bill."

Floridan: "Thank you, gentlewoman from Alabama, but it has just come to my attention that it's already 1:00 PM. We've been meeting for a full 2 hours, far longer than our usual workday should be."

Speaker: "All in favor of ending today's session say Aye."

*434 people shout Aye*

Speaker: All opp...you know what, I'll just call it session adjourned. Though it's a shame we didn't get that budget bill passed today."
