FadedSkies 1,874 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 (edited) Whether its a movie, a game or that new Justin Bieber album, do you still buy/prefer CDs over digital copies? As for me, i download most of my music on iTunes but i prefer buying the physical copy when it comes to movies and games. GammaDove 428 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 I always buy the physical copy of things, It makes me feel important, like, "Yeah, I have things."
boiteporte 591 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 First, for movies and games, we are talking about DVDs or Blurays not CDs, lol. Anyway, for music, I'd rather purchase on Itunes. For games, I'd rather buy digital copies over DVDs. It is easy to store and since I am not a very organised person, I end up losing them and getting angry for losing them. At first, I did not really like digital copies because of DRMs. But, Steam, Uplay and Origins have gotten much better and so it's Ok, now. However, DRMs are still present for movies so I would strongly recommend buying physical copies of movies if you don't want to have nasty surprises. DubWolf 17,370 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 For video games and movies, I still buy CDs, although I haven't bought any of those myself lately. I used to prefer cassettes since it's harder to damage them, but that's only a problem if you have young siblings. NightOwl 912 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 Not really, I like to use services like netflix and spotify for music/movies and I usually download/purchase my games from places like steam and PSN store. Signature by me avatar by Azura.
Guest August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 Nope. I'm 100% digital. Movies, music, tv, anything I want like that I can get online.
WindShear 543 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 I almost always get games digitally now since Steam tends to be cheaper and more convienient than getting a physical copy. I usually do buy physical copies of my 3DS games though. As far as TV shows, anime, and the like, I always watch them digitally at first, but if whatever I am watching turns out to be a something that I really love I will often get a physical copy of it to add to my collection. GrauWitz 1,010 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 (edited) I still buy DVDs/Blu-Rays. I don't want pay a monthly-fee to watch films on Netflix or buy 10 terabytes of storage space to house my massive movie collection. On top of that, I just like having a physical copy of a movie in general. As for CDs...... What the fuck are they? XD. But seriously though, I don't buy CDs. I can get whole albums for low price on iTunes anyway. Edited August 8, 2014 by GrauWitz

SparklingSquirrels 21,355 August 8, 2014 Share August 8, 2014 For movies, yes, especially if I really like the movie. Lots of DVDs come with pretty cool bonus features As for music, it's not practical for me to buy CDs, for two reasons: 1. On average, I only like about 3-5 songs per artist 2. I prefer to listen to non-English music, which makes it a lot harder to get CDs (I'd have to order them online) 1 ֍֎֍֎
The Crimson Cross 7,532 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 DVDs especially. If I see them on sale at the supermarket selling quite cheaply of course I'll buy them, take them home and watch it. Also for TV series, it's nice to collect a hard copy of whatever it is you're watching. Hmm.. I'm not sure.. It feels like you actually "have them" rather than owning it digitally! ShadowPirateX 600 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 (edited) For games, I definently buy the physical copies. For movies, I sometimes buy the DVD's or Blu-Ray discs. For music, I usually listen trough Spotify, but I do intend on buying four Disturbed CD's I spotted in a store. Guest August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 Music depends, if I like every/most songs then I buy the album, otherwise I purchase the specific tracks via iTunes. I still buy dvds too.
The Mane-iac 1,648 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 I prefer physical copies for games. I'll buy a CD if it's a band I really want the physical copy for, otherwise I just go digital. The CD gets ripped and then straight to a shelf though. DVDs? Only if it's not on BluRay, though most of the time it comes in a combo pack of BluRay/DVD/Digital. First, for movies and games, we are talking about DVDs or Blurays not CDs, lol. pfft All the good games still come on CDs. Handmade 46 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 Most of the music I listen to is old, so it's more common to find it in physical form. I personally enjoy the feeling of having the disc album and its artwork, but seeing how most of the devices I use can store music, I rip the disc into iTunes and export it to what I need.Movies and television programs I torrent from sites and keep them in digital form. CT-1138 3,183 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 Of course I buy DVDs! I much prefer owning the physical copy than deal with all the bullshit of digital copies. I've bought digital movies only a few times and they were all terrible experiences. Constant buffering, slowness, sync issues. Don't get none of that with a physical copy. ~Asuka <3~ 867 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 I listen to music through Spotify, for the most part. I do own a few CDs, and I'd love to add to my collection. I've bought a few albums through iTunes, although I prefer to own CDs. Additionally, I download music through my library using "Freegal." As the name implies, it's free and legal. I used to torrent music, but I stopped doing so because it violates my moral code. I also deleted every song I torrented to clear my conscience, haha. 1 #1 Asuka fanboy. Omega Centauri 317 August 9, 2014 Share August 9, 2014 (edited) I strongly prefer CDs over digital music, same goes with DVDs. CDs provide better audio quality, second only to vinyl records, (I would get records, but not only are records more expensive than CDs, I don't have enough money to get a nice record player ) and I love being able to sit back admire my collection of movies/albums. On console I prefer physical games, however I'm predominantly a PC gamer and I have most of my games on Steam. Edited August 9, 2014 by Omega Centauri 1 ...But that's just my opinion.
