Sure, the setup could work, though wouldn't it make more sense to be seen as something of a flashback? Otherwise, we'd have the awkward situation of Butterscotch arriving a little after the letter, which doesn't leave much time.

...Wait, I got an idea. As mentioned, things have been hectic in Ponyville, with the repairs and everything, so we could simply say that your first could could well be the letter being delivered, but during the morning, with Pop then being busy for most of the day prepping and trying to help out here and there. (I will describe that to some degree during my post) and then your second post would be the arrival of Butterscotch during the evening, before the sun is dragged down. It's about 7 or so in the autumn days for folks, so the sun shouldn't be made to set just yet. :) Works for you, or would you prefer another way?

Now, as for the character bio: It looks great. :) Short, to the point, and containing all the important information. It's just as it should be, and I'll once more repeat that I approve of her. ^_^

I especially like the parts about the wallet and getting by on the road with singing for tips. You'd be surprised how many wouldn't consider explaining how someone could keep things running if they travel a lot.

Honestly that seems like it would work. The mailmare delivering it in the morning and then Butterscotch arriving that evening is what you're suggesting, yes?

Btw if I roleplay the mailmare, can I make it Derpy? :mlp_please: Or would you rather make it just a normal npc mailmare?

Would it be okay if I make the post tonight? I'd like to post before I have to livestream, and I'd like to break the ice sooner rather than later.

Trust me on this, you would've waited for months. It took us around 4 months to go through a single day the last time. In RP time goes by at a snails pace. :) It's why I generally allow for anyone to work within a 24 hour period of one another, then see if things can catch up if needed be.

Just wanted to ask if you mind small continuity breaks, because though it won't necessary ever come up, there's a thing about Ruby's home that has changed as I have fleshed out her backstory in my head.

If I remember right, I wrote in the post that mentioned how she lived that she had a cave in Everfree and house in Ponyville....well, there's a little change that will happen if her house will come up again, that simply being, that the cave is under her house, not in Everfree.

I actually forgot where her home were int he first place, but thanks for telling me of the revision. :) And yeah, it's fine. not like they ever were there in the first place, so really, meddle with it as you please.

Heh, okay, this is starting of cruel, let's skip past it and go straight ahead to just approving you. :P Good backstory, character traits, reasoning and why he's out in the big world for the time being, etc. You have a solid character on your hands mate, and I'd be happy to have him around.

Before offering any characters to team you up with though, I wanna try and ask if there's any kind you'd prefer? Since he's likely to go to the old castle, someone that can follow him there would of course be perfect, and I can mention a few off the top of my head easily there, with some examples here.

Stargazer is a friend of Luna, and would have some interest in both seeing the old castle now that he have been moved to Ponyville, and showing his daughter the sights. He'd have no issue keeping a civilian safe and escorted whilst doing so either.

Currently in the castle, preparing something and searching for lost spirits. She wouldn't mind having someone to speak with, and as she have strong ties to Cadance, perhaps Ivory would be interested in making contact with her as well. A royal's a royal after all, and if he can sell a piano to one, perhaps he can sell it to several. :) Plus it would be good advertisement in general.

 

He'd mainly be there because he were curious, but if Ivory is persuasive enough, perhaps he can get a customer scored here, as Smokey isn't exactly without means, and might get allured to have a piano as a beautiful part of the inventory in one of the rooms in his mansion.

I have some more, but again, wanna make sure about your preferences first, and where you'd wish to start with things. :) Some options from each of these as to where things can go from the first meeting and into the future, so can also depend on what you wish to aim for in the long run.

As for Glimmer, sure, go ahead. I don't have anyone playing her currently anyway. :)

As for whatever or not they know her... I have no idea. I think I'll let that be up to @Moonlit as she controls Princess Luna. Celestia is sort of *in stasis* for now, as the one playing her have been gone for some time now, but you know, if Luna remembers, we can go with Celestia doing so too. Up to Moonlit. :3

The school have not even been referenced in this RP so far. Likely reason being that there is only 1 here who plays a foal - which is me with Blitz Boom - and she got barred from the regular school for showing the other students how to make explosives and chasing bullies with unlit bombs. There is no way she'd be let within 5 miles of the friendship school. If you wanna work with the aspect of the school, you are likely going to have to have it mostly as internal monologue, and just speak with others from an outside perspective.

Although... if you Do want a student, I have a teenager, if that can work? He's not local, but he's a kind soul who is just looking for his place in the world after some rather harsh beatings from life. Perhaps a stint there would do him good. His name is Cover-up, and he's a unicorn who have a special affinity for tattooing, and paint them on others or surfaces as if it's an actual tattoo. He can also remove the ink again if needed, which helps on tats needing to be replaced or changed.

Moving on from Glimmer, good choice in Vivid. She's one of my favorites, but I don't get to use her too often, so its's nice with a change of pace. :)

Now, as mentioned she is already at t he castle. Should we meet there, or shall I simply have her come to Ponyville for something she needs for her preparations, and when he overhears that she's going to the castle, he asks if he can come (in case he doesn't know the way for example) I'm game for whatever opening to this you prefer. :) 

Twilight is in her castle, speaking with Fluttershy and a dragon.

Oh... Whoops. O.o Sorry mate.

Would you like to give it a go though? Seeing as how much Serenade's story is mingled with hers, perhaps it can help you push some details with that in mind too, without having another player muddle up your ideas.

I'll just have Ivory meet Vivid at the castle. I find just happening to meet in the same place to be fun.

As for Cover-up, I'm sure a teenager would be fine. Sandbar's already kind of teen-age if not just slightly younger than the Mane 6. I'm just not entirely sure what to do with Starlight that isn't guidance counseling, and no one seems to be playing Trixie either  :(

Maybe I'll come up with a foal/teenage character for some good student interactions.
