YES!

I for one am syked about this. Sure, 3 was a fantastic ending to the series, but I always love seeing the ways writers will stretch a story to take it even further. Sometimes this doesn't turn out well, but I have faith in this one, since a lot of people thought 2 was an unnecessary sequel and that movie was the bomb.

Guess I'm in the minority when I say I am ok with this. It's all about the wait and see game imo, though I don't see how if the fourth film does end up bombing, how that would reduce the quality of the titles before it. I never really understood that thought process, but I can respect it.

So, assuming this is going to to turn into a trilogy around the new kid, there is most likely going to be a Toy Story 5 and 6. Don't be surprised if that happens.  :maud:

I can't summon up much anger at this. Not because I think it's a good idea (I'm fairly neutral on it), but because I'm not all that invested in Toy Story as a franchise. Didn't think the third one was all that great, frankly.

Well, it doesn't exactly reduce their quality. You can have the best food of your life, but if the last bite tastes bad you will end up with a bad taste in the mouth, even if the rest of the food was delicious.

Hopefuly the fourth movie will be good, the problem of this movie is how apparently pointless it is.

I really liked Toy Story....I actually see a great deal of potential with a 4th one, although I cannot see a continuation of main group (Woody, Buzz, everyone else) because their story is done....from the childhood of Andy to adult Andy to a new generation. They could definitely make it work with a new set of toys, because the adventures are limitless when it comes to what a toy could ever deal with. I can't see it being as deep as the 3rd film, but I definitely see it going far with a new set of characters, especially as a love story....

If it's just Woody and Jessie, then "meh." That will turn out as great as the love story sequels to classic Disney movies (like Mulan 2 and the like)....I wouldn't like that.

I'm not really sure what to think about this. Toy Story 3 had such a conclusive ending, does it really need a sequel?

I'm gonna keep an open mind, tough. Who knows? This could turn out to be good.

No. Please. They said they wouldn't do this. They can't do this. No, Pixar. Stop.

Are the shorts not enough? Was the beautifully concluded trilogy not perfect enough? What could possibly happen in a supposed fourth Toy Story outing?

Pixar, please get your act together. First you announce Cars 3, now you're going to potentially ruin one of your best and most loved franchises that was already brought to a conclusion anyway?

Never was a big Toy Story fan, but I thought the third film wrapped up the story brilliantly. Don't see a need for another film as the story was concluded. Bad decision, in my opinion.

Stop it

Stop it

They're killing it

Don't make Toy Story another Shrek. I've got too many good memories of Toy Story.

Let a series die when it's meant to die, when it already has a perfect ending. come onnnn

To be fair, the 4th Shrek movie was pretty great.

Toy Story was a part of my childhood as one of my most favorited movies. To this day, it's still one of my favorites. I was excited to see that they would make an awesome ending to the series, and it truly was a great ending. So the story of the toys is over and they all live happily ever after.

Now, they make a fourth movie... Bu-bu-but 3 made the series done for, in an awesome way too!

I'm gonna respect your right to have that opinion, but... Eh.

Ummm... I love the Toy Story trilogy as much as the next guy, but this? This shows that Pixar can't be bothered with new ideas and focus on sequels. It's a shame too because their ideas are creative and fun.

Not only that, but it would make a lot of sense if Toy Story ended off on a third sequel. Seeing a fourth sequel to Toy Story, Cars 3, Finding Nemo 2 and The Incredibles 2 show they have no more motivation to think of something imaginative.

Also, John Lassenter says this movie is not a cash grab, who I presume is also working for Cars 3, Finding Nemo 2 and The Incredibles 2. I also recall him working for Cars 2, which is notorious for being a cash grab too. I would be rather suspicious with what he says...

wait.... there was a second finding Nemo? what the heck did they even do? okay, I'm gonna have to hit google with a few searches.

meh, I have to say that I wasn't all to satisfied with the ending of toy story 3.

but then again, the whole "they lived happily ever after" never sat right with me, even as a child.

I mean life will always have conflict, so to say that they suddenly don't have anything else that would interesting to do, is just lame in my opinion.

and if we get to go along for the ride... I'm not complaining.

it's obvious that the same thing that happened with Andy will happen again.

so does that mean they can continue doing the same thing forever?

new kid

kid grows up

new kid

kid grows up

I don't see it being a good idea, but if they do it, it will be their own idea and no amount of complaining will help the case.

as long as they don't do anything crazy, I think I'll tune in just out of curiosity.

Was a bit surprised to hear about this... Toy Story 3 is, like, a perfect film and perfect ending. I'd prefer if they just did shorter projects with the series like Toy Story of Terror which I thought was pretty good, but this could be good. Nothing to do but wait and see.
