gaming Do You Care About Achievements, Trophies, Etc.

Depending on the game, they're what drive me to play. Especially when the trophy/achievement info is displayed publicly.

For nothing else, they give games great replay value, going back and doing things you hadn't of done before :3

yes they are the reason I game I love grabbing as many Achievements as possible because I see it as a challenge to test my skills in the game

on Xbox Live I have a gamer score of 26,173 and I currently own 1,467 Achievements for 93 different games

I have achieved every Achievement for Minecraft, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2010, and Harm's Way

I nearly have every Achievement for Call of Duty Black ops 66/71

so yes I'm really big on getting Achievements

now to my knowledge the Trophies on Playstation Network are pretty worthless but not Achievements on Xbox Live (unless you didn't sign up for Xbox Live rewards) for every 5 thousand Gamer score you get Microsoft gives you a dollar on the month of your birth and it adds up when my Birthday came I had a gamer score of 20 thousand and I got 5 dollars from them so yeah Achievements are a priority here the more you get the more you get paid on the month of your birth

A bit, I guess. I mean I like getting the little popups on Steam, and I like it when I have a bunch of them unlocked (especially the more hard-to-get ones), but they're not something I normally work towards.

On the odd occasion though, I might try to earn certain ones, if I feel up for it. :)

I used to care. I got somewhere around 65k Gamerscore on Xbox 360.

After I got my computer I stopped caring. In some games they are cool to get to just show that you did it, but they don't particularly matter to me anymore.

They're a nice addition to the game and some times give it a little more longevity but they aren't the sole purpose I play games. They're amusing but nothing really all that important.

Meh, they're nice, though there's not much incentive for me to complete them. If I ever try to get all of the achievements it's probably for a game I like(MGSHD)

I prefer it when I get some sort of rewards for getting achievements, like in Super Smash Bros

The Dead Rising series is pretty good for that too. Megaman blaster FTW :3

Not really interested in them. I'm more interested in leveling up in whatever game I'm playing.

Yes AND no. For some games like GTA IV or the Dead Space games, it makes them really frustrating, but still incredibly fun.

Others like Sonic Generations, Sonic 06 and every Saints Row game til SR3 they just make said game even harder because the achievements are a bit hard to get since you have to complete an entire section of the game to gain just one achievement. That and it doesn't give the game much replay value.(Except SR1 & 2, those are my favorites)

I don't hunt for them all the time but I do like when I get them. There's a few games I've gotten all the achievements/trophies for but I rarely do that.

I only got for Plats/1ks that I think I can actually do in a reasonable amount of time. I have little interest in 300 hour grinds or extreme difficulty no-hit bullshit.

Games I've completed:

Anarchy Reigns

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

Darksiders

Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time

Infamous

Sly 4: Thieves in Time

Working on (slowly):

Spec Ops: The Line

Deadly Premonition

Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls II

All of these games will be easy to do. They're just a tiny bit grindy.

I'm pretty OCD about achievements. I've got quite a few games completely cleared out. Generally if I enjoy a game enough I will at least attempt to clear all the achievements.

I love and hate them. It makes me feel accomplished, though I know I'm not. It also helps your figure out various things, like how many different endings there are in some games, but takes away the fun (frustration) of trying to figure that out on your own. If they erased all achievemens/trophies from games tomorrow? I'd live. If they don't ('cause that's really unlikely), I'll still live.

Yes and no, there are times where i wan't to earn trophies as it gives more replay value to the game, and it gives me a sense of completion for the game.

There are times where i'm not that bothered about getting them. For instance there will be trophies that require you to complete the game on the highest difficulty setting to get that trophy, if you're required to grind levels for that trophy or if it's time consuming.

I only just now got a system that has the feature (PS3) and no, I really don' t. I know I'm pretty mediocre when it comes to games, and I'm not going to cause myself more frustration trying to get trophies - it's not like anyone knows/cares anyway. Lol

In all honesty, no, and this is coming from someone who loves gaming.

If I had more time in my days then maybe I'd actually care, but anymore work and home life tends to take away my gaming time, so...no. I can live without them.

^This too. The frustration isn't worth it sometimes.

No I really don't care. It's cool to earn them when you aren't even trying, but going for all of the trophies is kind of useless in my opinion.
