Ever been cyber bullied? How did you deal with it?

Yeah about a couple years ago I was playing Halo Combat Evolved and these people ganged up on me in a corner in the game and told me this:

 

"Your voice is so weird"  "Why do you have to be a girl, girls can't play."  "You should get run over by a car."

 

I basically left and never went back to that server, although I did cry to myself for a little bit.

I have. For more than a few things and "go kill yourself" was the least of the problems I had to deal with. These were people I thought were friends but no matter what I did they belittled my very being. Everything from my hobbies, to my job, to the way I look. I was lead to believe I was the worst piece of shit human on the planet.

 

Worse yet was that this was literally the first bullying I'd ever experienced. All through my school days I never once got bullied. You can imagine I didn't handle it well. I started walking. No, no, not like walking daily in a regimen I mean I literally started walking down the street. Just kept going for miles never intending to stop until I dropped dead. My mom came after me and I eventually ended up in the hospital. I was ordered by the hospital to go to therapy but I didn't do it.

 

It's been a few years now and I look back on it and think about what a wuss I was. Shit like that wouldn't even affect me now. The internet, for better or worse, has tempered my mind into steel and almost nothing has changed from the situation I was in when all this happened. It's a matter of mentality and now I refuse to be anything but what I am for other people.

I actually made the mistake of visiting Omegle once. I swear my IQ has been lower since then

I was cyberbullied by someone on another forum. He used to be my best friend, but he turned on me. He was gay, and I never once teased or hated him for that. He started working with autistic kids and decided to start being an ass to me. Every time I mentioned the word autism on the forums or whatever... he was there to put me down. He claimed he was this expert on it too and called it a disease. At the time, I couldn't do anything because all the staffers were buddy to buddy back then. (He was a mod). I just left the forums for a while, and when I came back... I found him gone. I haven't had any problems with bullying since then.

 

I have other experiences, but this one is probably the worst for me. I've also had a whole entire forum of staffers turn on me because they thought I was annoying and obnoxious. Now, I'm terrified of being around them. I also had one time when I was being cyberbullied on an RP forum for Harry Potter. I swear the admin was out to get me because no one did anything. I only tried to defend myself against them... so guess who gets banned for it? Me.

Yeah, he's not an expert on autism. If he called it a disease, he doesn't know anything about it. He sounds like those people from Autism Speaks that claim that when it's not. Disease and disability do not mean the same thing.

Naw, guess I didn't word it correctly. I only got to the other end of town. The reason I was at the hospital was so they could make sure I was okay mentally, which is why they told me to go to therapy. Physically I was probably in the best shape of my life since it was little more than a light workout.

I was the recipient of some cyberbullying over on FiMFiction once, because of my opinion on homosexuality. The way I dealt with it is how I've dealt with all bullying - I ignored them (after a long flame war, which was amusing) and forgot about it.

 

While everyone has different factors in their lives, and different situations, the smartest thing to do when you're cyberbullied is to remember that whatever they're saying, it means nothing. They aren't worth your time, so you shouldn't pay attention to them.

On with the actual subject, I've personally never been cyber bullied. I have however, seen other people get cyber bullied. The worst case of this is when a video gets a ton of dislikes, and is full of negative comments. Now, I can understand a video being bad, and needing some constructive criticism, but most of the comments are just attacking the person and calling them gay, autistic, retarded, or other ad-homonyms. Some might give some decent criticism, but others will just do what is the equivalent to cyber bullying. You know all those people on the internet who became infamous, Christianutuber, Chris Chan, Sammyclassicsonicfan? Those people make terrible videos, but the hate that they get is so cruel that the trolls become just as bad as the people they're attacking.

I've had people screw with me, but not persistently and 9 out of 10 times it's been just to piss me off so I just ignore them. I've played their game before (trolling, not cyberbullying) so that's why it's easy for me to spot what's really going on.

well i haven't but if i was i would just laugh at the bully or just ignore him/her.

however i regretfully had joined in with my friend who had been cyber bullied and decided to fight this bully with me and so it went into a fight and well we won but it got us into detention for 2 weeks in a row during lunch.
