Cash In 22,446 January 21, 2020 Share January 21, 2020 I found out the hard way that my data got wiped on Bully: Scholarship Edition. A shame, since I put a lot of hours into that game. At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
Bastian 13,319 January 21, 2020 Share January 21, 2020 Yes, it has happened to me a lot, especially in Far Cry 4, I had to play it from the start like 3 times but I could win it in the end.
Brony Number 42 10,069 January 21, 2020 Share January 21, 2020 Two Worlds on Xbox 360. Spend about 2 weeks on it and it froze during save. This is my new signature.
Stone Cold Steve Jobs 22,441 January 21, 2020 Share January 21, 2020 Donkey Kong 64. Not only did I lose the save but every time I saved after that. I always had to start a new game. Eventually (in 2013) I got the save function to work again. By repeatedly spamming the save button until I felt comfortable and then I had to hope for the best. 1 And that’s the bottom line, ‘cause Stone Cold said so! Tom Gallagher 33,590 July 20, 2020 Share July 20, 2020 On Mario games, I used to forget how overwriting save files worked. So I'd accidentally swap one of my brothers completed files with mine that was still on the first level. My brother was not happy. ExplosionMare 18,067 July 21, 2020 Share July 21, 2020 I almost did but thankfully I copied the save on accident after I accidentally deleted it at the same time. This was on a DS with two different save files. I think I was moving stuff around but I can’t remember. Boom!
Vefka 1,499 July 25, 2020 Share July 25, 2020 Not exactly lost Once I saw an interesting game came out ("I'm Alive" I believe) and decided to try it. But at that time my uncle were living with us and we were using the same PC. He had already downloaded this game and almost completed it. I thought that if I download and install the game again, I will get two independent versions on one computer. But little did I know that saves are stored in the Documents folder, not in the game folder. So my dumb ass started a new game and when my uncle found out about it, he deleted all saves from all of my games
ZiggWheelsManning 10,754 December 24, 2020 Share December 24, 2020 One game comes to mind, Star Wars - Jedi Power Battles on Sega Dreamcast. Enjoyed playing the middle of level 2, then I quit. Once I got back to the title screen, there was not a single saved game file Even when the console recognized the VMU mounted in the controller with the impressive small screen images At least the level 1 boss was cool Special thanks to Emerald Heart for the banner! StarFloyd1138 13 December 24, 2020 Share December 24, 2020 Bioshock 1 on Xbox 360, I unfortunately had one of those 4GB 360 Models, and it sucked to say the least, I had to buy flash drives for it constantly to be able to play most anything as It didn't even have enough storage to save every game I owned, and what do you know, one flash drive was faulty, and it caused me to lose my save data...that I didn't back up, only one of my many saves got corrupted, so in reality i was sent back to the previous area in the game, and not the start of the game, but it was still enough to make me upset, this was in 2014, I did not finish bioshock till 2016, and on a different system no less! Moony the Cat 3,702 December 24, 2020 Share December 24, 2020 I remember i had once lost some files because they got corrupted for some reason. The game Monopoly on the Ps 2 had this issue, it even happened more than once, so i just played trough the game in one sitting and then the save file stayed. Most of my save files got lost because of my addiction to play games in order to completion, so i actually ereased all my save files multiple times, everytime i skipped a game or was unhappy with myself. Actually this was a problem for many years, since my childhood. Thankfully though i finally stopped doing that once i started my DC Collection, since the Dc Universe is so big, i never would want to delete stuff again because its already hard enough to try to catch up as it is, so now i have played all my save files back and it stayed that way ever since. Randimaxis 8,654 December 24, 2020 Share December 24, 2020 Oh, my child... Shall I tell you of the Heartbreak of Zelda, on that fateful day when the save batteries died? Ot shall I regale you of the tale of the sub-par save card for the legenday PS2, which would erase like clockwork every three weeks? Or mayhaps you were there for the great Hard Drive Fry of 98'? These things... I know of them. They are horror, pure and simple. ===== ( 0 ) ===== Fnord.

ohne 408 December 24, 2020 Share December 24, 2020 I finally managed to finish the Brotherhood of Steel quest with computer virus in Fallout New Vegas and my game suddenly crashed (FNV does that a lot) and I didn't save the game. Treeglow Flicker 13,723 December 24, 2020 Share December 24, 2020 I've had plenty of Civ 5 saves randomly corrupted every now and then. The most annoying ones are the lost saves that contain a Deity difficulty playthrough. Even trying to restore the save from an auto-saved turn never restored them. Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824 December 24, 2020 Share December 24, 2020 Twice by my cousin...I was so upset, because for one of the games, I unlocked almost all the characters and almost all the rare skills. It was Dragonball Z Budokai 3. Took me a while to get back to where I was. The other was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team. RaraLover 10,414 February 3, 2021 Share February 3, 2021 I lost my save of Super Mario 3D World after my little sister accidentally deleted it not too long after I completed the game 100%, which made it felt even worse. I eventually played it again and honestly, playing the game a second time made me realise how easy the game was.

There is a pretty high chance of destroying the save file when saving in the puzzle sections in Virtue's Last Reward for the Nintendo 3DS. I saved my game in one of them a lot, because, ironically, there is another bug that can freeze the game when entering another room. Fortunately, they got rid of the bug in the Steam version of the game. I bought my version from the Nintendo eShop on the 3DS and they actually made it so that you couldn't save your game when in puzzle mode of one of the rooms in order to help prevent you from triggering the bug. Though I make it a habit to save before puzzle mode begins with "Seek a way out" and immediately after I completed the puzzle mode and I switch back to novel mode with a "You Found it". That's odd because in my physical game pak on actual N64 it seemed that the game automatically saves after every golden banana and other important item I picked up, even if I never hit the save button in the pause menu. And the same thing applied to the virtual console version on Wii U. Like the save button was more an optional thing than a requirement. EDIT: yes just 10 minutes ago I started a new file on the Wii U Virtual console version and as soon as I got out of the starting area and onto the main island, I reseted my game without hitting the save button and the game still acted as though I went through all those training barrels and opening cinema. The time played numbers on the menu as I loaded the file even said I played for 9 minutes. And I haven't even picked up a single Golden Banana yet. So yeah as far as I know the game seems to automatically save whenever you hit important points in the playthrough A Dragon as big as his love for Disney and has his head in the clouds literally and figuratively Ask Will Guide | Signature by Wife of Hawks | WiiGuy2014’s OCs
