Favorite Species of Pony and Why?

I'd want to be an earth pony. They are hard workers who are down to, uh, earth. Also, I'm not too fond of Alicorns. I feel like they are out of place. Plus, I think that they're over powered.

Flying isn't the main reason I would choose pegasus. Granted it would be a plus! I would especially love your proposed scenario of earning Fluttershy's trust. To fly with her would be a nice date. Just me and her sitting on a cloud, sipping tea and eating sandwiches. Her naming passing birds.

Pegasus. Even though I will never get bored with magic there seems to be so many downsides to it also, like the stereotypes and intolerance from other ponies going towards them, such how they think their snobby and uptight, and "better" than everypony. Sometimes, at least. At least with wings you won't get that kind of treatment, and won't be classified as a "lowly" earth pony. Sometimes, at least.

Unicorn, they're more versatile than the other races, you don't need wings to fly when you can cast a spell to create some or just levitate. If you need to get somewhere fast even Rainbow Dash can't beat teleportation. Basically anything you want to do, there's a spell for that, all you need is lots of study and the proper willpower and concentration, and I'm much better with those than I am with physical skills.

Unicorns have an advantage though. They can use things without the use of their hooves. Just that magic levitating thingy.

 

Earth ponies are okay. For hard work and things. But they can't fly or use magic. But still, they're the type of pony that you would like if you wanted to live a normal, no magic thingy, I want to stay on the ground life.

Okay, Pegasi are cool too, but earth ponies get special privileges to protect their less efficient ways of doing things. Have you noticed how, in Equestria, there is an unwritten ban on using magic to do what manual labor can do, even if magic can do it more efficiently? Take Winter Wrap Up. Magic is allowed to be used for assembling birds nests (fine motor movements require magic), but disallowed for farm labor. Or look at technology. Steam trains are allowed, but magic powered machinery (Super Cider Squeezy) is hated. This is done at the expense of Unicorns so that earth ponies have a more equal position in the Equestrian economy.
