If MLP Reviewers on the forums were someone in the Analysis Community?

Recommended Posts

I would add in "Who would they be" to the end of that, but that's literally too long of a title.

Now, we've got our many reviewers of episodes not only on YouTube, but on these forums. If the reviewers on the forums were someone in the analysis community, which one could they be most easily compared too?

If I were to compare myself to one of them, either Mr. Enter or VoiceofReason. I have similar opinions to them on episodes and I could probably pull off their styles.

So you compare yourself to a reviewer or compare another reviewer on this site to one.

I think i can compare myself very good to MrEnter. He once said a line at the end of S4, that i couldn't agree more on. "I would rather have a show that takes risks and has a few stinkers in them, then having a show, that's playing safe." Alot of people think that the old feeling of S1 is gone and that they want it back, which i really don't understand. I don't think that they're wrong, but in my opinion it's wrong, to not do something more risky with these characters.

Also, i give a quick Shoutout to @@LZRD WZRD who also makes great reviews and shares alot of my views and he's just an awesome guy in general. ;) (even if he dosen't like Return of Harmony.)

Tommy Oliver and Digibro were my first and biggest influences. Most of their theories had very sound evidence and I like how they relate this show to media in general. Brawny Buck (Brony Debates) does the same and relates the show to real life. That's why I often think of the real life implications of morals and subtext.

The one I'm most similar to is Canned Cream. He shares a lot of my viewpoints on the show's subtext and is a blank flank just as I am.

Ah shucks, thanks man :)

Cool topic @. I would agree, you remind me of Mr. Enter.

As for myself, I don't feel I'm like any one reviewer. I'm certainly influenced by a lot of them (Mr. Plinkett, YourMovieSucks, Digibro, Mr. Enter etc) and from video to video any of those influences may seem more profound.

As for comparing other reviewers here, it's kind of hard for me since a lot of you guys have distinct styles. Which is great, cuz boy would it get boring if all of us sounded the same :D

Not sure, but I suppose I would be like Silver Quill. I have a bit of a comedic twist in some of my reviews that he has in his videos. I don't really watch that many MLP reviews on Youtube, so that's my only thought at the moment :P

You strike me as a mix of that and Mr. Enter due to having similar series of reviews.

I kinda feel like a combo of Silver Quill and Gibbontake in that while I would give things a critical, yet no-too-serious look, I would also likely go into gibberish tangents. XD

I feel to have a combo of the following:

  1. DigiCurious: These two are part of the first wave of analysts, and they really gave very critical analyses of episodes.

Even though T_O doesn't analyze specific details anymore (the last being his sharp review for EQG), he's still very analytical, if not expressing some run-ons.

DigiBro is also very analytical, and it was really his ability to break down episodes bit by bit that helped me and a lot of others explore FIM.
  2. Golden Fox: Simply because his commentary can be sharp. He'll praise, but when the episode sucks, he isn't afraid to go out and be blunt.
  3. Past Analysis: This dude doesn't post a lot of videos, but he does a lot of commentary on analysts' videos, and he's not afraid to speak out about specific flaws in videos like I do in episodes and comics. For example, Dr. Wolf and Voice of Reason collaborated on a video comparing FIM more to Hanna-Barbera than to Disney. He called them out for poorly delivering the comparison and contrast.
  4. Byter: No, seriously. Like him, I'm not afraid of delivering deep reasons about what makes things work or not (or for him in so many episodes, not — for better or worse). Like him, I'm a part of the obscure writing half of the analysis community.
  5. Brawny Buck: For the same reasons as Wind Chaser. He focuses a lot about what connects this show to us in real life. Because this show and the characters are very relatable albeit the fantasy setting, I focus a lot about implications and morals.
  6. Cloud Cookoo Country: Like Brawny and Byter, he focuses a ton on negative subtexts. It was his analyses that helped me introduce to their importance (connecting the unfortunate real-life traps in his collab with Dr. Wolf and later on his negative analysis of Equestria Games), and I've focused on them ever since.

If I type up a review, which I really just do at my own leisure, I often find myself trying to draw from Mr. Plinkett. Granted, I feel as if I'm far from the level of reviewer he is and I certainly lack that sense of humor, that's who I seem to draw most inspiration from regardless.

He isn't in the MLP Analysis community though, he's just a general critic :P I don't really find myself paying attention to the bigger names in this community, though. At most I just read what I see on here.
