movies/tv Do all kids have the same taste in cartoons?

I understand that young children, may not have as refined of tastes as adults do. But I feel some people think kids all have the same taste in entertainment. I don't necessarily believe that. When I was a kid, I remember watching more shows than others, for a variety of reasons.

* I wasn't too into older Disney cartoons that were on Toon Disney at the time because I though they felt a little too... clean (save for Jetix)

* I remember not really watching many shows with female leads unless

  A. Said lead was cute

  B. There was a lot of action

* I was really intrigued by Anime, and liked the style

* I refused to watch Brandy and Mr. Whiskers at the time because I hated the art style

* I was into cartoons with either, gross out, random gags, or lots of action

With this in mind, do all younger children really have the same taste in animation?

In short, no.

Kids are like people (well they are people). They have many different interests and personalities. When I was a kid, I was into the more light heated comedy like cartoons well other kids were into watching action cartoons or anime.

Well, maybe, I don't really know.

Honestly, I'm trying hard not to slap people when I take the bus and hear young (10-12) kids talking about how they are grown-up and playing games like Call of Duty made for smarter peoples while smoking.

Kids don't even care about cartoons nowadays.

I never really liked brandy and Mr. Whiskers either, but that's more because i just don't like stupid characters. Also there is a difference between absent minded/clumsy and just plain stupid. i enjoy ditzy characters that are clumsy and childlike, but when it comes to stupid characters like peter griffin or Mr. whiskers i can't stand them.

The art style didn't help either, and that's one thing that has gotten me annoyed with disney channel in the past couple years, every show they've been putting out recently feels like it could be placed somewhere else. Also got rid of toon disney and replaced with disney XD so they could put in more terrible sitcoms, and live action shows

You people. Stop making me post things.

This is obviously not true, otherwise the only thing on TV would be Spongebob and The Simpsons. That's all I've got to say. Now sit down and think. And if you're sitting, get off the chair and sit on the floor.

The only reasonable answer to the topic question is "no."  Because it's impossible for ALL children, the world over, to have precisely the same taste in animation.

And, when I was a kid, I watched:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Voltron

Transformers

He-Man

Care Bears

Punky Brewster (there was an animated version)

She-Ra

(vaguely remember a bit of) My Little Pony

The Littles

Fraggle Rock

(possibly) Strawberry Shortcake

No, some kids like anime, some like comedy like SpongeBob, some like mystery like Gravity Falls, and some like relaxing shows like FiM of course. I thought most Disney cartoons were more polished than ones on other networks. I will be hooked to a show if I find the characters well made or setup interesting. Not everyone has to like SpongeBob you know.

Definitely not.  My sisters and I had to share the TV, so I know the kind of negotiating that goes on just within the same gender or family.  In the end, I think we ended up watching a lot of Animal Planet and Cartoon Network / Boomerang shows. :)

I never liked The Flintstones, I changed channel or walked away when it started. I consistently gave it chances to prove me wrong, but all my life it has been boring to me.

There are similar shows, but that one is my least favorite. The point is, I'm pretty sure someone likes it, and I don't, so that proves different tastes.

It's hard to say if kids are more easily entertained. When I was small I could watch a lot of cartoons and be entertained, now I can't.

But compared, now I can watch a lot of sitcoms and be entertained, which I weren't as a kid.

However I'm starting to be less and less entertained by both sitcoms and generally everything that's on TV, I tend to crave more intellectual entertainment. Just like many people watch series on Netflix and such, but I'd rather watch a movie. There are enough movies out there to entertain me just as much as series can.

Most of the kids have the same taste in cartoons as they love watching those pokemon cartoon where as some older kids like dragonball series. But Disney cartoons are liked by one and all and my personal favorites are all the 3d character animation cartoons as well as 2d animations.

Those people would definitely be wrong. No sufficiently large demographic has the exact same feelings/opinions about anything.

I don't think so. Even though kids are easily caught by vibrant colours, I think kids would be more interested in a cartoon based on its story and characters.

I think modern Nickelodeon agrees that all kids have the same taste in cartoons however, considering what's airing right now. It's kind of a shame too.

From my experience: While the tastes are not as defined as adults, kids DO have theirs

-My school were crazy to anime, while I didn't like them so much, I prefered cartoons and animes without so complex plots (LIKE KIRBY :P )

-I never liked animation with a female lead, but if said animation had action..... don't expect me to leave the TV alone for a while (Sakura Card Captors, Totally Spies, PPGs...)
