I have wooden floors because they're less high maintenance, as carpets seem to make you work more to clean them. Here's my point:

The wooden floors aren't deep and only require a quick vacuum run and that's it, but polishing them doesn't always need to be done.

Carpets seem to attract more dust and dirt, and seem to be impossible to deal with. But that's just my opinion.

When I was a kid (or teenager?  I forget when exactly) my parents switched by bedroom's carpet for linoleum, and it was because of my allergies.  So I guess we took a third option.

Hard-wood flooring all the way. Sure, it gets noticeably dusty/dirty quickly, but a carpet gets just as dirty but because it's not apparent it just gets more and more gross until you do some deep steam-cleaning or something. I used to lie on the carpet all the time when I was a kid, and the thought of doing that now just seems so nasty xD

Wooden floors because it's easier to clean them without the use of a vacuum cleaner. Also, when you have ants, you can see them easier in a wooden floor compared to a carpet.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I have to go with tile / cement.

Wood looks good (for a while) but is expensive and is damaged easily. Carpet gets dirty easily and does not last very long.

Stone tile lasts forever and requires zero maintenance. Plus you can add in-floor heating and use area rugs if you require more comfort.

That depends how well you take care of it. The thing with tile, is that its fragile, so is stone. Drop anything hard on it and it cracks.

Wood flooring can take that punishment, and lasts for years. Unless you don't know how to treat it properly.

I prefer carpet, but only a little bit more than wood. In my old house, it wasn't hard to lose small objects by dropping them, as there were thin gaps. One time, I dropped one of my guitar picks, and it fell through the gap. I moved later, and I was glad to see them go.

I think carpet is more cozy for smaller spaces such as my room, but for everything else, I prefer wood floors. It has this fancy appeal to it. <3

Wood floors. They are much less trouble to clean. Especially if you have small children or pets. Or happen to be very artistic. (or very clumsy) *raises hand*  :adorkable:

Gosh you should have seen the amount of dirt underneath my bedroom carpet when my family finally decided to go with laminate wood floors. Must have been when I was a kid, everyday it seem like a little bit of dirt to dump from my shoes. So yeah I think wood is better. Also, office chairs glide better.

I just find carpets more comfortable and less slippy so I'll have to go with carpets  :)

Carpets give that more warm, cozy feeling, and when you first get them put in they feel fluffy to walk on. :3 However, I still prefer wood floors for their easy cleaning and more modern look in general. I only have carpet on my stairs and landing, it just looks too dated in rooms. :wat:

So many good reasons for wood, but I have to go with carpet. It's not as cold as wood when you're barefoot. Plus the laying on something soft. I say it's worth it to vacuum every once in awhile (if you take care of it, which you should anyways)

When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move,
your job is to plant yourself like a tree next to the river of truth, and tell the whole world
"No, you move."
