Have the Ponytones disbanded?

One thing that grinds my gears about this show is their tendency to forget things and never mention them again.  Are we ever going to see the Ponytones again?

 

I'm still irked that we never saw them prior to Filli Vanilli.  I wanted some backstory as to how they were formed, and how Big Mac joined, since it seems so contradictory for him.  But I really wish they were a semi-regular thing.  Here, Fluttershy finally joins, sings in front of her friends, says that she'll take baby steps and get there someday, and then....

 

 

...nothing.  And that was the last time the Ponytones will be spoken of ever, ever.  I want to see Fluttershy perform at the Apple Family Zap Apple Jam Extraordinaire, god dammit!  I don't want her to stop being shy, but I'd love to see her slay that demon and live her dream.

 

Side note: I really wish that Hasbro would put out a real album by the ficticious animated Ponytones, like Gorillaz.  I'd buy it.

 

But alas, we'll never see the Ponytones again.

Maybe they are part tmers or they have recently been unable to perform anywhere due to being busy. Makes sense for Bg Mac at least, he has a lot of heavy duty farmwork to do. Fluttershy would be busy with her animals as well.

There hasn't been a show in the history of television that hasn't dropped some things from one episode to the next. The Ponytones may come back for another episode if one needing them is written, however, it's obviously a hobby to those involved in the group (or at least, to Rarity and Big Macintosh) so it's not like they'd be doing it all the time.

They're probably still around. Maybe it's just cuz theyre not relevant to the other episodes, but they're still s thing in the background, I dunno.

The Impression that I Get ~ Is hopefully we will soon hear again from the Ponytones. I know the show does have a tendency of forgetting things from past episodes. But hey if the Ponytones retire. We always got the Mighty Mighty Bosstones! They could take their place anyday.

Well, having been in many similar vocal groups myself, I for one would not be at all suprised if they were a flash in the pan. I mean, we know how much time Big Mac and Rarity have to devote to work, and for all we know the other two might have full time work outside the group as well. Groups like the Ponytones require a lot of time, something many individuals just don't have.

 

Also, as we've no proof of recorded vocal music in Equestria, I'd imagine it's more of a diversion than a potential career path. I mean, they can't exactly get picked up by a record label. (Or can they? Equestria's eclectic mix of technology and lack thereof still confuses me.)

That appear later on as a little reference, and to be honest I didn't really like their music so it doesn't matter to me if they do return or not.

The eyes could have been Tirek's, and it's only been one season since the tooth thing so it could be looked at this season for all we know.

Yep, they quite could have been, seeming as the number of foreshadowing events in S3 and S4 is more than S1-2.

 

However, why did Tirek hold off for awhile (whole season) before commencing his attack? And, was Tirek the ghost pony that Granny Smith's legend talks about? Tirek might be a easy explaination, but it isn't without its share of uncertainity.

They have the Mane 6, the CMCs, Spike & a horde of minor characters.  IMO, it is just a case of too may subplots, too little time.
