This is my last topic for the day, I swear. This is the third topic I've started today, and I feel like that's too much.

 

So, this thread is about The Powerpuff Girls. The wonderful cartoon network show, created by Craig McCracken, the husband of Lauren Faust. In this thread you are welcome to talk about anything Powerpuff Girls related. You are welcome to praise the show, criticize the show, talk about your favorite/least favorite character, etc.

 

I'm not going to write a full review (i might do that later) but there are a few things I have to say about this show:

• Bubbles is my favorite PPG
• Him is my favorite villain
• The RowdyRuff Boys are the worst thing to ever happen to The Powerpuff Girls. (in my opinion) They are the least interesting villains throughout the entire series (including the one-shot villains) and the fanfiction is flooded with PPG X RRB shippings. They seem to be the fandom's favorite thing, and I just can't fathom why.
• Season 5 and 6 are decent, but I have a couple of issues with them: The mayor's character is flanderized and ruined. In these two seasons, he's portrayed as a "big baby." He treats Sara Bellum like his "mommy" and it's downright annoying. And his sudden love for pickles is very strange. I believe that his love for pickles was only ever mentioned once in the early episodes, and than they suddenly became a part of his character? no... just no. My second issue with the last two seasons is, the RowdyRuff boys becoming recurring characters. Craig McCracken didn't intend for them to ever return, but they did, and unfortunately more than once.
• I LOVE the sound effects on this show. They're amazing.
• My favorite episode is Los Dos Mojo, where Bubbles is hit on the head, and believes that she is Mojo Jojo.
• My least favorite episode is Toast Of The Town, where we get to see The Mayor being a big baby (literally) for eleven minutes, about his broken toaster. If you want to know why I don't like the Mayor's character in seasons 5 and 6, watch this episode. 

So, that's all I have to say for now. If you're a Powerpuff Girl fan, or if you absolutely despise The Powerpuff Girls, you are welcome to contribute to this thread.

My sister is totally addicted to Powerpuff Girls. Her fave is Bubbles just like you. 

I still like the PPG show and stuff but like MLP:FIM better.

Well, as I mentioned over in this thread, I'm rather looking forward to the reboot that's coming out soon.    I was always a fan of the original series.

Actually, I don't know. If you're talking about their current stuff, I'm a fan of that too. Adventure Time and Regular Show are amazing. If you're talking about their live action stuff, all of it has failed, and it is currently still majorly animation.

I don't remember much of what happened in the show. It was a very long time I watched it last time. Though I remember that I thought Mojo-Jojo were pretty funny. My favorite of the girls is Blossom

Another thing that I forgot to mention in my original post, is that unlike MLP, this show was never originally meant to be "girly." Cartoon Network marketed to girls, which made Craig McCracken a little upset, which is the reason why the movie is darker and edgier than the show. He says that he regrets that decision and wishes that he would have made the movie lighter and softer.

Well I am glad he didn't. I don't even remember the movie myself but I like when things are a bit dark and scary. That is why I am such a huge horror fan. I mean one of my favorite shows on CN was Courage the Cowardly Dog. So I think I need to watch the movie sometime soon

To be honest, I never really got into Power Puff Girls. I'd watch a few episodes occasionally, but I never really watched it on a regular basis.

I used to be a huge fan of the Powerpuff Girls, almost as big as how I am with MLP today. I was in 5th grade/6th grade at the time, and I remember I had to visit my cousin's house just to see her PPG episode videos, and they always fascinated me.

 

My favorite is Blossom, but as of now I'm more into Buttercup for her punky personality.

 

I *still* have the songs from their soundtrack (actually have the CD :3 idk where I left it D:) but these two songs are my absolute FAVORITE.

I LOVE the powerpuff girls. I used to watch them every time the show comes on. I even watched the first episode, which was amazing. I also watched most of the movies and the special episodes. I even heard they were coming back sometime this year.

 One does not simply not like the PPG. I mean, who doesn't? In my thoughts it was the MLP in it's day. Many men and boys liked that show that was for little girls, and what are we liking right now? Yes, a show for little girls. I love the PPG!

A very good cartoon show, that showed me a lot boundaries that cartoons would cross. Saw a lot of the episodes, and can't forget the movies.

in my opinion the have a very similar personalities, but i like Fluttershy better xD

Ha ha, oh yes, I love the Amoeba Boys! I remember there was a couple of times when they were actually a threat, though, like that one time they got everyone in Townsville deathly ill.

 

And I know that feeling my friend; sometimes, you've just got to tell the world that Townsville is under attack!

I'm also a huge PPG fan.  In fact, I got a nice unexpected dose of PPG just a few days ago (so did just about everyone else here).  There's supposed to be a new series in the works also.

No, I liked the show! Trust me, it was really well-written and you can say it developed a moderate fanbase over time. I liked the villains, they were too funny and the Mayor was so stupid as heck, that I don't even know why the people of Townsville elected him to stay in power if he does stupid things. This is why the PPG saves the day!

 

Um, actually, I'm going to get someone to move this thread down to the Everfree Forest. There is no way that this thread is related to MLP: FIM.

I used to loovvvee that show as a kid...I had PPG plushies, toys, everything! I still like it now, and I also liked the Rowdyruff boys! Thought it was so cool to see the male versions of the PPG.

 

I don't have an Oc though, but your definitely not the only one who likes the show! Lots of others still do as well. 

 

Another show I really liked was Dexter's Lab! Are they the same creators? I dunno, I also thought they were as a kid.
