My mother's side is from the Philippines, so I'm guessing my ancestors came from around the East Asian area.  On my father's side, it's a whole mixed bag of Dutch, Scottish, other ethnicities from the northern region of Europe, and a touch of North Native American.

My father was 1/2 Russian and 1/2 Scottish, his Father being Scottish and his Mother Russian. My Mother was 100% Japanese, and was the first of her family to move outside of Japan. Despite being half Japanese, my Japanese traits are rather faint. I have dirty blond hair and blue/grey eyes. I do have some Japanese facial features though, but they are fairly hard to notice unless you look close. So does that make me Triracial or Biracial?

This is a question I have always wanted to know the answer to, but have never been able to find out.  I was adopted as a newborn.  I know absolutely nothing about my biological parents, besides for the possibility that my bio-mom was underage.

I could speculate by my physical appearance (which yes I do know that is not a very accurate thing to do)... I have reddish-brown wavy/curly hair, green eyes, and have a large rib cage and broad shoulders.  My best guess is either Scottish or Irish.  But I have no real proof.

Maybe one day when I have the money, I'll get a DNA test to find out.

As far as my parents backgrounds... My mom's background seems to be German, although she definitely has some Native American background in her somewhere down the line.  She told me she is either 1/16 or 1/32 Cherokee.  Her skin tans very quickly and I don't think she's ever really gotten sunburn much at all.  My dad's background seems to be either Irish or English.

Not a clue. I literally don't know anything about my family beyond my grandparents on my mother's side. I don't even know my dad's family since I've met him all of five or six times my entire life.

That's sad... Have you searched adoption records, geneology, etc.

I only really know up to my grandparents.  What I know for sure is that my father side is from India and my mother's side is american indian.  As of what their names were and their history, I really don't know.  As for my geneology, I'm not sure where I can find that.

On my father's side we descend from the native americans, but like the real deal plains indians, the ones with the gigantic headdresses and fighting american cavalry (Kiowa tribe). Not any of them basket weavers.

I think on my mom's side we're scottish. Or Irish. I can never remember, lol.

I would vote on this, but it seems aimed towards Americans. I'm Irish, with Irish everything. Celtic surname.

I do believe that some of my ancestors were pirates, but they were still Irish, so...

I'm an American with Greek and some Italian in my blood. Funny thing is, I'm teaching myself to speak German which has nothing to do with any of my backgrounds.

Most of my family is from Greece but I also had family from Egypt. My family from Egypt was rich but later was forced to flee Egypt and leave everything behind.

My family also has a long line of lawyers and politicians.

  • 5 years later...

On my father's father's side they were from Britain and moved over to the US in the late 1800's, from a region of England known as Cumberland. On my father's mothers side they were French Canadian (Quebec). On my mother's father's side they were pure polish, at least they spoke the polish language and came from Poland. My mother's mother's side is Italian.

My brother took an ancestry test so I'd assume it would be the same for me. 30% British. 30% French, 8% Italian, 8% Polish

I also have a Mohawk Ancestor, her name was Ots-Toch.

My dad's side has lots of Portuguese and German. My mother's side is mostly Cajun and German. So I suppose German makes up the majority of my ancestry.

Thats a really cool ancestry! :eager:
