How can Twilight be even alive after this?

This video borders on invincibility. I daresay you could shoot Twilight point blank with a shotgun without even a magic shield to protect her and she be fine. I mean an anvil fell on her, she should be dead. Pretty much every living thing human, tiger, sheep, pony from earth or whatever in real life with an anvil dropped on them will die.

I... suppose cartoon logic... perhaps? This might be a head canon on how durable ponies are to avails being dropped on them.... but if you wanted to make a somewhat slightly realistic fan fiction you may want to dismiss ponies being able to survive anvils being dropped on them from the sky.

You forget to take into account the physics of cartoon comedy. Things like the anvil dropping on Twilight exist purely as a joke and once the joke is done it has little to no bearing on the plot. It's a way to express humorous situations without crippling your characters.

For all intents and purposes it "didn't happen", basically. But it still did because we saw it.

That's the beauty of cartoon comedy. No situation has to permanent unless they want it to be. If you're looking for continuity errors then you're going about it in the completely wrong manner. You're not supposed to think about it that hard. That's kind of the purpose of such situations.

Okay this is an instant of where "It's just a TV show, don't think about it so seriously" applies perfectly, cause I'd rather not have the rest of that episode having Applejack and Pinkie Pie arrange funeral plans and the rest go through the stages of grief while a street worker tries to scrap up the bits and piece of Twilight Sparkle strewn about the park and seeing new moving/heavy object transportation legislation pass within the Canterlot Parliament.

That sort of logic doesn't work with all shows though. There are legitimate cases to question the validity of a situation or the physics around it but this is not one of them. Whenever you see any sort of comedy in a cartoons that doesn't end with permanent consequences it can be broken down into "don't think about it too hard" and if you have to think about it and it ruins it for you then this is not the comedy for you.

Cartoon magic. It's like how Mario can fall several kilometers down but touching a turtle can kill him. Can't make sense.

It's like in anime a little girl picks up a car and just smashes it on a guy for acting like a perv for comedy effect but later she has a hard time just lifting up a box.

Because she's best pony cartoon logic I guess. Cartoons don't have to make sense. The episode has some crazy moments on its own as well.

I mean let's take Pinkie Pie for example if she has that much control over the 4th wall how would she not been able to take care of Discord and Tirek? Cartoon magic, that's all that is.

You're trying to ascribe logic to something that is completely illogical. That entire episode was filled with moments that were zany and cartoonish. That scene in particular was nothing more than a fun allusion to classics like the Looney Tunes. You can't sit and analyze it. MLP is a cartoon too. Blame Polsky.

If you NEED an explanation for how she survived? Divine intervention. It's Twilight Sparkle, the element of magic and future princess of friendship. Surely the Equestrian gods were watching her closely that fateful day. :P

Yup, it's just cartoon comedy physics.  But this scene in particular actually annoyed me a little.  Personally, I would prefer if FIM, while maintaining its feel  and themes, took itself a bit more seriously and despensed with this level of slapstick.  It's fine to have some cartoon physics, like a character rushing off frame in a blur, which obviously doesn't really happen, but this degree of slapstick becomes a little difficult to reconcile.  I would prefer there to be some level of consequences.  If Twilight is in a full body cast, then she shouldn't be fine two seconds later.  I don't really like the events where I have ask if it "really happened" or not in order to reconcile it with the rest of the show.  But, admittedly, even though I love the show as is, I guess I'm one of those bronies that is always watching the show with the mindset of what I wish it could be.

Feeling Pinkie Keen is a weird episode for how cartoonish it is compared to the rest of the series and I mean it is exaggerated and if a person sees the episode first, it might give off a different impression of the show overall.

That is absolutely true, yes.  It approached Roadrunner and Coyote territory.

Yep, she died and everything after that is merely a dream

Muffins went to jail for murder (turns out she was part of a large organization dedicated to removing unicorns from power in Equestria)

Pinkie Pie sank into depression and committed suicide a few weeks later

Equestria fell under Chrysalis' control and she was eventually defeated by Tirek who now rules Equestria with an iron fist

I think the nonsensical is something I find cartoons attractive. Cartoons for kids should have a lot of wackiness, funny, and of course, positive moral value. According to several eps in ss5, mlp tackles more serious topics, more adult referenced even more drama and less cartoon wackiness, even they have one, reviewers will call them cheap, lazy, irrelevant sentiment cuz mlp now is kind of serious business( like Avatar) maybe...

Dont get me wrong, I like depth stuffs ;). However, I still see mlp as a kid cartoon not anime. I love cartoons for it's nonsensical ;). Cartoon character made by rubber so they can take physical damage ;). Dont question cartoon logic
