How do you get over something/someone?

For me it just comes with time. At some point I just get over them. I’ve tried things I’ve read online but it’s hard when (at least it’s always been in my situations) you see them everyday. Wish I could give a better answer but it’s just time for me. Im currently in this boat right now(again)  and I know at some point I’ll just move on.

I can't really like letting things go if that person or something I'm emotionally attached too. I often think about them and let it run its course down the memories lane. Sometime it pains me, but at least I know that it's still important to me. I don't want to forget of all the time it makes me feel.

By the simple fact that you'll have to move on eventually, one way or another. What's in the past is done, and clinging to it is pointless. You can only move on and take the experience into the future. Yes, it probably will hang over you like a dark shadow for a while, but sooner or later you'll have to find the strength to step out of it.

Once you do, it'll be like releasing a weight from your body.

I don't for a lot of things, it is a big flaw of mine. I don't forget things easily and I don't often forgive them when I probably should.

Time is the only thing I can think of. Keeping busy with hobbies usually helps, but like I said, it can still take a lot of time.

I don’t know.  My girlfriend I had for 7 years broke up with me in 2018 and I still miss her sometimes.

I think finding someone or something else to focus your attention on is really the only way. The mind sure likes to get stuck on something.
