Okay first off, THE CMC HAVE THEIR CUTIE MARKS!!!! AHHHH!!!!!    5 years in the making and it happens! Words alone cannot express my joy!

 

 

 

But back on track.  During the season 5 mid-hiatus there was a poster that was partially posted with several characters blacked out, but also released with it were two cutie marks which have the same color scheme for Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. They're posted below:

 As I hope you can see (Please do not screw me over on this one computer) they are not the ones the CMC had at the end of The Last Crusade (I know that's not the title but it does seem to fit more). So are these the cutie marks the CMC would receive if they never formed the CMC and could they be part of the/an alternative timeline Starlight potentially creates in order to extract revenge on the Mane 6? I'd go with yes because it would help illustrate the differences created in the timeline.  Of course I think it'll be temporary and at the end of the finale, they'll have the same marks that they had at the end of Crusaders, but so help me Celestia if they undo Crusaders of the Lost Mark permanently in the finale. .

Yeah the cutie marks from the end of Crusaders of the Lost Mark, which as i feared alienates Apple Bloom from the rest of her family (you had one job Amy! The CMC's talents were clear from season 1 and it got completely bucked up.), being different from the data-mined poster was odd. You could be right. Besides, these cutie marks are miniscule compared to most. Imagine how they'll look when the girls are full grown.

This is a ludicrous notion. Why would such a thing even be considered? Big Mac and AJ showed nothing but pride in the end of the episode, so I really have no idea where you're getting this.

But to be honest, I wasn't expecting the CMC to get their cutie marks at the end of the episode, especially not all at the same time.  While I did find this to be an excellent idea storywise (the trio gets to move on to the next stage of their development while retaining their identity as the Cutie Mark Crusaders) I have to admit that I really dislike the designs of their marks.  They just look....weird.  

 

So yeah, while I doubt it will happen, I'd love to see their cutie marks change, even if its only in an alternate timeline.

Thanks for the clarifications on the issue.

 

Looking at the inner designs up close, they're actually pretty accurate for each character but I still prefer these to their new canon marks.  I mean, Scootaloo's works okay with her color scheme but Sweetie Belle's looks really out-of-place on her white coat.

 

But the idea behind what these cutie mark's stand for is what I really love.  The CMC receiving them was the perfect way to celebrate the 5th anniversary and I can see where their new mission in life is going to come into play in episode 24, The Mane Event.  At least that's what it looks like to me judging from what we know of its plotline.

Since they got their marks, why not do some more Crusading while helping ponies realize their talents? I know I was wrong, but I can accept them with their marks now. I can handle it, but I still hate changes no matter what!
