Songs that sound like other songs(RE: If Thread already, please Merge)

Did you miss the part where I said it was based on ''State of the Art?''. Sorry. But I think you missed what I said.

I found another two similarities between songs. Virtua Fighter vs Zelda Main Theme.

Fun Fact: I actually made some Game of Thrones parody lyrics for the Zelda Theme. ''Hodor, the Legend of Hodor, And his Pal Bran!''.

Again what? I tried listening through the different layers on the Virtua Fighter one and compared it to the Zelda one that seems to be just one layer and I still don't see the similarity.

0:12 to 0:18 in specific of Zelda sounds like 0:54 to 1:08, mainly the bit at 1:08. Even if it's just a three note chorus rise, it's the same chorus rise in that Zelda song.

Here's something though, the Trumpets at the end of ''Uptown Funk'' sound exactly like the Trumpets that play in Sega Rally 2's ''Searchin for my Dreams''.

Also, I found out that Straighten Out by the Stranglers and Monkey Wrench by the Foo Fighters are sung in common metre, or at least a variant of it.

Hate to break it to you, but "Art of The Dress" isn't really original either.

Art of the Dress,[1] also titled Rarity's Dressmaking Song,[2] is a songthat is featured in the episode Suited For Success. The song is a direct homage or "borrowing" from Stephen Sondheim's song "Putting It Together" from the musical Sunday In the Park With George.

Also, on a related note...

Yes, Putting It Together, I already know that. But I don't call it that, I call it ''State of the Art''.

There's a song in Road Trip Adventure by the Push Kings that also sounds like 21 Guns, I think it also ripped off ''Hey Jude'' slightly.

Road Trip Adventure, oh god, I really did love that game.

I don't really hear the similarities at all, to be honest. The only themes that sound very much the same are the Pokemon RBY Hall of Fame theme and the bridge of Just For Tonight by One Night Only:

And here, at 3:00 vocally and 3:15 instrumentally:

Sorry, but that's a very weak similarity. I'd hardly call it a rip-off.

I've Got It I've Got It! sorry for bumping, but there's a song by Royal Blood that clearly ripped off After Burner II's ''Red Out''. It's got a Similar Sounding Name. ''Out of the Black''. So you may as well call it Black Out, however, Red Out uses some of the same chords from Outrun's ''Magical Sound Shower''.

If something sounds similar, it doesn't mean it's a ripoff. I once made a little melody, and I really liked it, and a few months later I went with my brother to this new band he found. One of their songs had a segment in it that almost exactly matched my melody. I had never before heard of those guys, or their music.

It actually happened before as well, with a sort of medieval melody. Still no true ripoff.

EDIT: Might I add that @ScarfaceOne is busy making a good point here?

Indeed, the thing is, a lot of songs are very easily ripped off. I mean Doom ripped off Metallica, DRI, The Stranglers, Judas Priest.

I'm actually seeing the Stranglers on the 12th of March. They are awesome, they made the song Golden Brown.

Anyways,

The Doom Intermission music is the same as ''Down in the Sewer'' by the Stranglers, except faster pace and with slightly different chords.

The Nuclear Plant stage's music is also slightly based on the motifs to ''Down in the Sewer'' and ''Shadows''.

So to recap.

Hangar: Master of Puppets, No Remorse, Painkiller, Hooked.

Nuclear Plant: Shadows, Down in the Sewer.

Intermission: Down in the Sewer.

Essentially, Doom has music that essentially ripped off, or was inspired by, The Stranglers, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera and Judas Priest. I Don't think Iron Maiden ever had a track ripped off by Doom, but ''Flowering Night'' from Touhou is essentially ''The Trooper''.

To parody the conversation that Homer and Peter Griffin had in Ukinojoe's Family Simp, ''Same Beer, Same Song''. ''SAME SONG!!!'' ''SAME SONG!!!''.

The Point is, music has limited notes and there is no such thing as true unlimited notes, just unlimited scales.

I Took the liberty in renaming the thread, if there is already one like it, please merge.

Anyways, I've just realized that Mega Move from the Super Mario Bros TV Show is almost the same as Beat It.

This video shows the similarity between the two as a mash up.

BTW, I love the solo of Beat It.

Also, there's this common chord that a lot of songs share, and a famous variant of it is the James Bond Theme.

Here are some songs I know with the chords.

New Super Mario Bros Underwater Theme.

Super Stripe from After Burner.

The theme of Art Academy.

Also, I've sort of found out that a lot of songs use timing used in flamenco music, Compas I think they are known as.

 Art Academy Swan Lesson.

Zero from Ace Combat.

Magical Sound Shower from Outrun.

The similarity is, they use certain Compas from Flamenco Music.

I think I need to learn more about Time Signatures, it may help.
