Yeah it's pretty obvious Disney is gonna take as much of an advantage as they can

I also remember them bringing the possibility of a Obi Wan and a Yoda movie.

As long as they are better than The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, I am happy.

Han Solo and especially Bobba Fett are characters that deserve more content.

Bobba Fetts death was probably the worst executed scene in Return of the Jedi. I hope they do the character some justice with this movie.

I'm cautiously optimistic about more movies since Force Awakens was better than Attack of The Clones and Phantom Menace, but I am certainly not going to build it up too much.  I'm somewhat surprised about 5 new movies but then again Disney is going to milk this franchise for as long as it can.

Really? Disney didn't fill their pockets enough with all the Star Wars merchandise from The Force Awakens? And let me guess, they'll just continue to disregard any of the material from the prequels too? Woohoo.

At least just keep it to a new trilogy not FIVE more. I can't take that much toy spam in stores.

Well Han Solo will never return most likely, considering Harrison Ford hated playing him and was barely coaxed into even doing The Force Awakens.

I have to admit, I have mixed feelings about this.

If they turn out great, then that's fantastic.

It seems like they are try to do what they did with the Marvel Cinematic Universe where it was further built upon with each new film released-something that seems to have been extremely successful and profitable and it's been shown that Star Wars has been a cash cow franchise for years in regards to the merchandise and films.

However, the more cynical part of me is concerned that this is just a cash-grab and an attempt by Disney to justify to themselves buying this Intellectual Property-for example, a Star Wars every year sounds great, but if that leads to them rushing the films to deliver on that statement, then I believe the quality will suffer and referring back to what I said about Marvel-I keep hearing people complain about how burnt out they are on superhero films and I fear that this is easily the same trap (reference not intended) that Star Wars could fall into.

Good point. Didn't think of that before. Kinda like Activisions "Call of Duty" and Ubisofts "Assassins Creed".

While I do like that they make new films, I'm a bit worried that they might rush it just to milk the franchise instead of taking their time to really make the films as good as they can possibly be. The Force Awakens was pretty good but that doesn't mean all of the movies will. ...And I'm not too happy about the Han Solo film idea. Since Harrison Ford won't be there to play it it'll just feel all odd to watch a Star Wars film with someone else playing Han Solo and I'm 99% sure people will hate on it just for that sake no matter how good the film is. A Yoda and Boba Fett film would work better though since you don't have the need for a certain person.

Wow this is fast, hopefully they don't rush them out to the point where the quality suffers. The Force Awakens is a decent start, I have to admit episode VIII is being released way way sooner that I ever imagined it would be. The good thing  though is this is creating a precedent where could see various movies expand upon matters in the main titles which as an expanded universe fan may open the door to some world building, I would love to see a trilogy based on the Darth Bane novels.

Some of these films do make sense but I can't help but see this becoming a franchise which just has nothing left to do with it and just becomes about money. Like seriously make episode 9 the last one then just make some games and TV series from then on.

No matter how hard I try these ponies will simply never leave me.

Disney stop

TFA was on par for me with the prequels. Too much forced humor made it feel more like an avengers movie without superpowers, the camera angles made it so I wouldn't have even known it was Star Wars if it weren't for the star destroyers, and the plot my god the plot. The entire movie is just Disney bragging about having star wars.

It was clear that the 2 audiences they were aiming for the most were those who have seen few if any of the movies and fans of the original trilogy who didn't like the prequels. I noticed the references to episode 4 pretty much immediately, I wouldn't go so far as to say it is a ripoff of it as some have said but I can see how it can become a problem if they overplay it.
