I've already said how I would feel. So what could happen is more adults will start watching the movie just to see what was so great about it... and may end up disappointed because without watching the entire show you might not be able to appreciate the film.

You mean of the year or of existence? I highly doubt it'll get to either, there seems to be plenty of movies that come out in a year and only one of them can be the best.

Doubtful, cartoon movies seldom do well. Let alone That well. Jem, ATLA, Dragonball Z, Transformers, GI Joe are all notable examples. Well the first Bay TF and Joe was okay.

Most of those examples though are more of Adaptations rather than Directly related to the series prior; Plus most of them were made by people who made a few or barely any good movie, barely know anything about the content, and/or style of film making just didn't match the source material they were given.

True, but that doesn't mean this won't be a stinker, Smurfs, Yogi Bear, Underdog and The Chipmunks were pretty blah too.

 

Sorry, I've just been so disappointed by how boring and awful these kinds of movies are, that I just expect it to automatically suck everytime Hollywood announces a new one.

 

Its fallen into videogame movie territory.

It is true that we can't judge that the movie will be good right away, however I'm mainly looking at the behind the scenes to see what exactly the film might possibly turn out to be. As for this movie, a lot of the crew from the show itself is involved with the film; Jayson Thiessen, Meghan McCarthy, All the Voice Cast, Daniel Ingram, and even Steffan Andrews has returned to do the score. Several movies based on cartoons with the same crew as the show established, despite quite a few duds all over the place, usually have more positive feedback; Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, SpongeBob (Both Movies), The Wild Thornberrys, Recess: School's Out, Teacher's Pet, The Simpsons Movie (Nominated for a Golden Globe), South Park, Beavis and Butt-Head, Shaun the Sheep Movie (Nominated for an Oscar)

It's not going to get nominated for an Oscar.  As we learned from the Lego Movie, movies that are toy commercials don't get nominated for Oscars outside of best song (which at best the MLP FIM movie could get nominated for, but I don't know.)

Besides that even if it got nominated for best animated film, it wouldn't win sense Coco (the 2017 Pixar movie) would win simply because it is a Pixar movie.

 

But I can see it getting nominated for some awards and maybe winning a few in the annies.
