Saying 20% cooler. These days it just seems like something casuals say in order to sound hip within the fandom. It's like when somebody says they're a "gamer" because they play Call of Duty and nothing else.

YES, I should have mentioned that as well in my previous post in this thread....people who say 20% cooler like they know everything about the fandom and stuff, and you can't just reply to them and say "don't say that, no need to sound hip" or anything otherwise they will have no idea what you're talking about xD

It increases the chances of people stumbling upon it when they don't want to because at the start of something there is far less content obviously because it's so new. So porn is more likely to come up because there is so little content available at the start. So if you START with porn, people are more likely to end up with porn while looking for non-porn.

Everytime that happens I tend to view it as a pleasant surprise and get to wanking, but as much as I hate to admit it you actually have a good point. I don't think it is a secret that I like clop but I still support some common sense stuff to make it less likely for children and people that don't want to see it to accidentally stumble on it.

There are a lot of things that cover that, some of which like clop people make way too big a deal about but others like some bronies being too pushy/preachy, taking things too seriously or white knighting I can understand. But there are a lot of bronies that seem to care way too much about what others think, granted problems with bullying and ignorant parents are common but you have some others in the fandom that have this sort of victim complex as well.

Believing that this fandom is somehow special. Apart from ponies, I'd be hard pressed to find reasons to say that this fandom is even unique, let alone special. This has to go.

 

Believing that this fandom is made up of good people. Absolutely not. Some of the biggest assholes I've ever met have been or are still bronies.

 

"Love and tolerance." Four years into the brony experience has me convinced to take great care of who you call "friend." There are some very awesome people in this fandom but they are like specs of diamonds scattered across filthy tar and barren sand. Honestly, if the fandom was as "good" as was hammered into me, four years into it would not leave me this salty. 

 

So yeah, much of my gripe has to do with putting this fandom on a pedestal. I will speak very fondly of the good friends I've made from within this fandom but taken as a whole, this fandom is anything but deserving of such praise. At best one can say that this fandom is just that -- a fandom. Nothing more, nothing less, with and without the joys, the heartaches and the dangers coming with being part of any other fandom. After all, fandom are made up of people and more often than not, people suck.

-Pony Creator (even if you consider yourself a bad artist, I would probably prefer to see your own drawing of your OC than Pony Creator's).

-Spoiling future episodes (this wouldn't be problematic if it wasn't so difficult to avoid). I really wish no information about future episodes would be released until time of their actual airing.

-Rabid Bronies.

-Pedophilia in Rarity and Spike shipping.

-People who think a pair of characters are by canon in a relationship because of very trivial "evidence".

-Related to above, it perhaps bothers me more than it should that, at least from what I've seen, there are some people who seem to consider most MLPFIM characters as non-heterosexual. While non-heterosexual to heterosexual ratio is low in reality, seemingly it's the opposite in the headcanon of these people; there would be a huge population problem in the world of MLP:FIM if most were not heterosexual.

-People who, by my perception, take the Bronies "coming out of the closet" too seriously.

People can do what they want of course, but for me it's to the point where I would much prefer seeing inexperienced drawings over Pony Creator (even if most you can do is draw stickfigures). Alternatively, they could make a newer version of Pony Creator in which they can have characters in three quarter perspective (to which I question why no one made successor to Pony Creator yet).

Every pony in Pony Creator almost looks exactly the same, with no uniqueness or special things that differentiate the OCs from other ponies whatsoever.

I would actually prefer someone drawing their OC with actually creativity and uniqueness than a boring, unoriginal, computer generated image.

 

Even if some people aren't good at drawing, I think they can at least try to draw a pony and end up failing, since at least that's a lot better than just quitting right on the spot and not even trying.

Agreed. Some people just aren't artistic, or at least struggle with certain mediums.

 

For example, I can write a decent story, I can do a simple, full-body repaint but it comes out streaky and sometimes I'll get paint where I don't want it to be.

 

I can't draw to save my life, I suck at origami, sculpting, shading, sewing, rehairing etc.

I remembered another trend just from a wallpaper I saw on my desktop this morning(Downloaded random packs so IDK what it all contains). The who idea that Luna is a gamer, a video gamer to be specific. I am a gamer myself and that is one of my primary pastimes, but this whole idea is just weird and makes very little sense imo.
