ManaMinori 4,149 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I've been having daily emotional breakdowns for over a month, and already suffer from depression. I've always turned to food in times of anxiety, stress, depression. And sadly, my body has paid for it, but i still stuff my face with whatever i can find, when i get emotional. Does anyone else? 4 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Admiral Regulus 2,769 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 (edited) No, I do the opposite. If I'm anxious I can go an entire day without eating a single thing. At times, I've been so nervous that I haven't been able to eat for more than 48 hours. If I do eat anything when I feel bad like that, I'm almost guaranteed to spend the next two hours vomiting in the sink. How much I eat is almost directly proportional to how good I feel. When I'm really happy and I'm having a great day, I'll probably eat twice as much as I would on a normal day. If I feel like crap, I may skip breakfast and lunch, and only eat something like a small sandwich for dinner. Valencia 9,504 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 All the time, I understand depression from personal experience & stress/anxiety eating far too much If you can,I'd cut it out asap or fall prey to a whole new slew of issues I know everyone's different and that some random persons words can seem almost insulting, but just stay strong, you're not alone in your struggles
PiratePony 8,491 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I do. I nervously snack for hours when stressed. If I didn't get emotional hungry, I'd be more fit...it's a bad habit working on changing. 2 Courtesy of @Sparklefan1234
Bojo 1,464 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I hate to admit it, but yes I do; it doesn't get TOO bad though. When I get too stressed I feel the urge to eat a lot of chocolates. I can resist this urge most of the time, but when I don't... Oh boy. I know I shouldn't behave like this, but the pleasure that binge eating chocolates brings to me for that moment makes this habit really, really hard to leave for me 1 Eeyup... this signature was made by: @Sparkle Speed

EverEverOn 346 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I'm pretty much the opposite. When I'm anxious, stressed, or depressed, I feel too sick to eat. I've gone days without eating in the past because of this.
PiratePony 8,491 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 My danger is tortilla chips...I could go through a whole bag when in a nervous/anxious/upset mood. 1 Courtesy of @Sparklefan1234
shy0wl 484 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I don't usually go too far out of what I normally eat when I emotionally eat but if I was depressed or sad I could probably eat a whole box of kraft macaroni and cheese without a problem
Rawzy 1,302 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 When I'm bored I usually eat, but it really depends on what kind of food we have in the house :/ When I'm anxious about something, I usually eat so that I can take my mind off of it...or...think about how I can avoid what I'm being anxious over. Snake 516 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 I do it too, my body has also paid.. I gained 20lbs when i went to the doctor..Though you can't really tell by looking at me, it still makes me feel bad about myself causing me to eat MORE.It's a vicious cycle.. signature by; https://mlpforums.com/user/26424-minikirby123/art by; http://pucksterv.deviantart.com/ profile picture by; https://mlpforums.com/user/36534-prophet/

Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,306 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Sometimes I snack angry. Or when agitated. Usually with grab n' eats like pretzels. "Take that, you f****** pretzels!" Comic Sans 401 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 * i'd be lying if i said i don't emotional eat, but i've been on a strict calorie counting diet since last year, with the exception of christmas since there's no way i can resist all that food, but i think the diet helps me. there are still times when i will just want to pig out, but i mostly starve myself than anything now. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,202 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 Guilty as stuff I am. I tend to do this...quite often, sadly. I have crippling anxiety and stress problems and depression on top of that, I noticed that I tend to gravitate to food a lot when I am feeling a lot of anxiety. I am trying more to at least go for something like plain tortilla chips or something similar instead, so that way it is not something overwhelming. 1 Redeem me into childhood. Neon Proxy 294 February 2, 2016 Share February 2, 2016 When I'm stressed I don't have an appetite at all, so no, I don't emotionally eat. Where I eat the most is at social gatherings but still, being vegan it really hard to stuff your face with 'anything' on impulse x) For us all it is just coping mechanisms and everyone is wired differently.

frecklesareblooming 225 February 11, 2016 Share February 11, 2016 Unfortunately, yes. I tend to eat whatever I can find in the cabinets, even if I don't like that particular food. I've been doing it less lately, but the fact that I do it at all is pretty bad. Solid 1,327 February 11, 2016 Share February 11, 2016 (edited) One of the many ways I maintain emotional resilience, a little snack during or a fine dinner at the end of the day is quite nice. Savoring the taste of food really helps in particular, since that focus amplifies the deliciousness and at the same time keeps you from wolfing down too much food. Binging on the other hand tends to lead to guiltiness for some people afterwards so I wouldn't recommend that. Grtxkkyz 389 February 11, 2016 Share February 11, 2016 Sadly, i do. I'm currently trying to let go of this habit, but, whenever i'm sad, worried or just unsure, i usually grab something to munch on, i don't know, it just eases the pain a bit. Just like poor Po in the first Kung Fu Panda movie... However, as of lately, i've been doing this with less frequency. You know, even though eating whenever i feel bad makes me feel a little nicer, i just gotta keep a constant weight.
